[PASSED] Liberate the Arab League

Postby Khorason » Thu Jan 05, 2017 7:33 pm

A security council resolution to break down delegate imposed password on The Arab League

Draft proposal by Khorason

OBSERVING

The violent seizure of power and martial law instituted by the brutal dictator Anarchestan, ejecting many faithful members of TAL in an attempt to seize full control, as well as disbanding all civilian forms of government. Actively suppressing opposing views, and banning envoys as well as shutting down every embassy over unfounded accusations and perpetual suspicion. He has als forced other inactive nations to endorse him so his grip on power will not be broken

NOTING

The baseless accusations towards former allies of The Arab League and Diplomatic insults by Anarchestan after efforts by both Hatay and Khorason to peacefully resolve the situation.

SUPPORTING

The government in exile of The Arab League, League of Arab States and their struggle for freedom against Anarchestan's tyrannic and violent rule of The Arab League. Also a liberation force ready to liberate the The Arab League on behalf of the rightful government

RECOGNISING

That the The Arab League was a democratic region where all the members voted for their delegate. However Anarchestan has gone against these principles and has imposed martial law, giving himself the authority to eject natives. Without this proposal he will destroy The Arab League in a silent and calculated manner. Also recognising that as the natives have elected Al Maghrebi who has appealed for help as the rightful WA delegate of the The Arab League.

HEREBY

The World Assembely Security Council votes to strike down the unlawful delegate imposed password barrier in order to liberate The Arab League

There's a few R4(a) violations in there (use of "him", "himself" etc.) and your active clause is awfully clunky - just say "hereby liberates the Arab League".

Edit: That's R4(b), not R4(a).

This proposal is officially on the World Assembly Voting Floor. It appears to be that the "FOR" vote seems to be winning by an extensive margin.

A report was filed against this proposal alleging it violated Rule 4(c) for mention of "inactive nations". That was dismissed as the term makes sense within the NS world. Proposals are required to make sense within the NS world, rather than the RL world, as NS has a whole load of distinctive features (like passwords, ejecting and banning nations) that proposals need to be able to reference for the SC to function. Plus, as far as the WA is concerned, the NS world is its real world.

So, how about the R4(a) violation a poster mentioned earlier?

This resolution is no longer needed as the nation in question has removed the password and has placed himself at the mercy of the liberation coalition. Once he saw the saw strong response to liberate the region he realised he had no chance and gave up. Thank you all for your support

Did this Anarchestan nation jump ship to Nazi Europa because they're not in The Arab League anymore?

Sure, that's rude, but that's part of the game.
The W.A. has no business getting involved in matters such as this, and we will be voting NO on the resolution, albeit obviously more as a statement, since it will pass regardless.

WA Delegate for the Federation of Fictitious States
Alexander Smith - Tinhamptonian Delegate-Ambassador to the World Assembly
Opinion of the Federation's WA Delegate (SC #5)
This comment best experienced on 1366 x 768. Or, for that matter, least worst experienced on 1366 x 768. Yes, I know that my flag is the wrong proportions. T&C's apply. Welcome back, Mall!

Tinhampton was the first nation to approve this proposal (in the belief that it was stylishly written and well-detailed). In addition, Delegate-Ambassador Smith (in lieu of any resolutions passed by The Other Chamber of the World Assembly, especially the one hundred and twenty-second one) has used his common sense to analyse this resolution. He has determined that Tinhampton - in their status as a World Assembly Delegate with 11 votes as of the time of writing - should vote AGAINST "Liberate The Arab League". These were the reasons that D-A Smith gave:
Since this resolution was put to vote, this region has already been liberated manually by a defender group who forced the invader delegate, Anarchestan, out of the region. There appears to be no need for the liberation now.

Tinhampton is voting against this resolution, and also strongly urge other members of the Federation's Assembly of Nations to vote against it. However, this opinion is not binding, and Tinhampton cannot and will not throw you into the flames of the Rejected Realms for failing to vote the same way as them.

If the region has already been freed from its invaders, isn't it a bad idea to liberate it?
