Defining Artificial Intelligence (as opposed to VI)

Postby Eridug » Thu Dec 31, 2015 5:35 am

People tend to lump Virtual Intelligence (such as your average chat bot, weapon system, etc.) into the same category with Artificial Intelligence. A VI is nothing but a collecting of if/then statements. Now, you may be able to create a really impressive VI by throwing every possible statement that you or your staff can think of in it. For something to be a true AI, it must use reasoning to create it's own statements by gathering relevant data. Much like we humans do.

Don't give bad advice. This doesn't belong in the GA either.
