Draft: Condemn the Souless Damned For Their Slave Trade

Postby Klopsburg » Wed Sep 30, 2015 8:22 pm

A Resolution to Condemn the use of government slave trade in the Souless Damned.

The Souless Damned are well known to have a "booming" slave trade within the country in which citizens are taken from their homes in the night.

I ask that the World Assembly see that this is wrong and condemn these actions as they violate the people's basic human rights.

I am know I probably need to add more to this but I want your help in improving this

This belongs in the SC forum section.

I'm not very experienced at helping out with proposals, so advice yet, sorry.

You can ding them for violating WA resolutions on slavery if they are a WA member.

However, this DOES belong in the Security Council forum. I've filed a move request to that end.

Thanks for that.

The Souless Damned is a member state of the World Assembly and is therefore in violation of World Assembly Resolutions on Slavery.

Please tell me what else I should add to this before I post it

Din't submit it yet. It needs a lot more work before it's ready. Also, merge your second draft and spoiler the old draft in the OP.
In=character, Kaboomlandia is a World Assembly member and abides by its resolutions. If this nation isn't in the WA, it's for practical reasons.

Aside from needing more "meat" (that's a pretty old nation, do some research and see if you can find anything else out), I recommend that you
please read the rules for SC resolutions. I'll give you just one hint -- "I ask" is illegal; see Rule 4(d).

A couple questions for you all then.

1) Should I change the nation and if so who would you suggest?

2) What else would you like to add to the resolution to make it better?

1) No, changing the target of a condemnation completely discredits the proposal.

2)) I would like it better if it didn't have an R3 violation (no operative clause), as well as the previously mentioned R4d violation.

Welcome to the World Assembly, where members write pointless resolutions just to get a badge.

Isn't it an option on an issue to keep slavery? This seems a but to close to 'Condemn
Omigodtheykilledkenny' to me. NatSov, remember...

If there is already a resolution banning slavery, than NatSov doesn't matter.
