The Security Council,

ACKNOWLEDGING that members of the WA are required to abide by their rulings and resolutions.

BRINGING to attention WA resolution #9 - Prevention of Torture and #18 - The Prisoners of War Accord.

NOTING that in the ongoing conflict between Grand Nicholia and various other nations in coalition, Grand Nicholia has failed to abide by these regulations.

SHOCKED by the ways in which prisoners of war, for example, Princess Corhána of the Empire of Claanyad, have been treated throughout this conflict.

STATING that the aforementioned Empire of Clányad was an ally of Grand Nicholia in this conflict, before being declared war upon after asking for the return of Princess Corhána.

HORRIFIED by the conditions in which the aforementioned Princess, who went to Grand Nicholia on purposes of diplomacy, such as being chained to the wall of a cell, and threats of further maltreatment.

OBJECTING to unnecessary medical procedures which were subsequently performed on Princess Corhána, such as removing half a pint of blood.

FURTHER SHOCKED that after these regulations requiring the fair treatment of a Civillian Internee were presented to their forces, the response given included, "Diplomacy is long gone my friend, long gone. In fact I was thinking of putting her in even tighter conditions!"

REBUKING The Kingdom of Grand Nicholia's subsequent refusal to return Princess Corhána to Clányad or treat her according to WA standards, despite numerous requests to do so.

FURTHER NOTING that another princess, Princess Aya of Abiottis, the original aggressor of this conflict, is also being held by the forces of Grand Nicholia.

ASSERTING that the Kingdom of Grand Nicholia has used the aforementioned princess as both bait and a bargaining tool against Abiottis, keeping her in similar conditions to Princess Corhána since the conflict began.

APPALLED at the treatment of yet another internee, a translator from Azi Altul, who was subject to psychological and physical torture, as well as a forced abortion.

DISGUSTED that at the completion of this procedure, the aborted child in question was sent to a laboratory to be studied.

URGING the Security Council to pass a condemnation of Grand Nicholia before further violations of international law and human rights violations may be committed.

Hereby condemns Grand Nicholia.

You can't have forum links in proposals.

I was going off the Rules for SC Proposals thread by Ardchoille. Has the ruling become invalid?
Ardchoille wrote:Ard. 28/12/09: links are okay if they're NS links

Edit: Seen elsewhere that it is illegal. Still no official documentation on the subject though. Will release a second draft with links omitted.

Sorry, but when I read this all I could think of was Tony Hancock's "The Blood Donor".

"..... but a pint? Why, that's very nearly an armful."

Those are just notes from various re-draftings of the rules - that commentary at the bottom shouldn't be considered actual rules.

I was sure we'd ruled on this before, but apparently not. You can't link to forum threads in SC proposals. I'll update that in this section of the Compendium in a sec.

EDIT: Aha! - I had ruled on that before.

Ah. Thanks for clearing that up. I was unsure if it was just me being unobservant or something else.

Is all the stuff you're trying to condemn them for going off that one RP?

Yes. Is there something wrong with that?

I'm just going from the "do they really deserve it?" side. Have they actually done enough to need the SC to step in?

It really doesn't seem so. Just from skimming this, it is all from one rp. Being condemned for RP is fine, but not for actions in one RP. Against.

I'm surprised though, that he plans to condemn over RP. I am technically breaking the rules of war, but ok. But, you must know that I have given Corhána better conditions, that doesn't change the past, but it influences this.

When I wrote this, it seemed unlikely that any change was going to occur. Now, I'll admit things have changed, and apparently one RP is not enough (grumble), but I'll probably drop the issue. Not sure if just to say 'retconned' or to do something else.

You say [ABANDONED] or [SCRAPPED].

Yes, but since when was that cause for war? I don't mean to bring this up again, but how is complaining about the unlawful incarceration of one's own daughter cause for the other country to go to war? :eyebrow:

I 'close' this thread. Please, no-one respond after this. We'll take this conversation to the TGs if needs be...
