Noting The Black Riders’s policy of unbiased participation, allowing nations of almost any ideology or religion to participate in regional affairs, as long as they are respectful to others,

Lauding The Black Riders’s endorsement of democracy when electing World Assembly Delegates,

Applauding The Black Riders’s participation in the liberation of Nazi Europe from Fascist forces,

Observing their efforts to refound founderless regions, such as DEN, Islamic Revolution of Iran, Angola, Internet, Charon, Whitereach, K and J Alliance, The Silver Isles, Region of Reunited Muslim States, Ixnay, and many others,

Attesting to The Black Riders’s contribution to other large founderless regions by bringing them into international relevance through occupations that do not end in refoundings, for instance in the regions SPACE, Anarchy, The Mountains to the East, and Atheist Empire,

Acknowledging the large amount of time and effort that must be put into tagging, occupations, and refounds,

Back due to popular demand, and the continuation of debate on this after I haven't posted in this thread for over a month: Commend The Black Riders!
If you have any comments on the draft, please make them. I've added a few more clauses, and I plan to change the wording in some places, but I'd like to know what you think needs to be changed.

Well, I admire the poster's enthusiasm starting out ...

But unfortunately, even if the proposal has merit, the simple fact of the matter is that the Black Riders' name has been dragged through the mud (by themselves and by the Security Council) too many times already for many on the WA to see past their actions. And that's even if there's anything laudable to their name, given the destruction - even if only by association - they keep wreaking.

If you're resolved to follow through with this, you're either really going to have to make ONE hell of a case or have a very good lawyer editing your draft, because this is going to be an uphill battle that will very likely be lost. The only practical advice I can give is, while you still have enough characters on hand, find any past cases where, beyond all reasonable doubt, the Black Riders have demonstrated something of good within the international community. These can assist in supporting your draft and can help (one can hope) outweigh any ill they may have done.

I know this hasn't been all that helpful, and for that I am sorry, but at the least, I'd thought I'd let you know of the odds going in.

Okay. I was reading through passed commendations and there was one that mentioned that the region (I don't remember which) was the first to have an off site forum. It was really old though, so I wasn't sure if it was illegal to mention it now. Thanks.

Comparing TBR to Nazi Germany is not a very fair comparison, now is it. TBR never commits genocide, and never randomly kills and rapes the citizens of the regions it raids. The worst possible thing that can be argued that they do is mass displacement. Anyways, real world comparisons should not have any role in NS. Belgium had far fewer options than any region or nation has. If the real world was like NS, then Belgium could have just password protected itself, or simply moved somewhere else, away from Germany.

I don't know if you touched on this on the last part of the draft but you should probably mention that the Black Riders has played a major part in adding an element of game-play that Nation States wouldn't really have otherwise, that being invading and defending. I've been in a region affected by the Black Riders but I do have to admit taking it back over was kind of fun. Many people look at this and say "what the heck" but if you think about The Black Riders actually deserve some form of commendmant for this.

If condemns are 'badges of honor' for raiders, I wonder what would happen if they got commended.
I'm going to support this if this ever goes to vote, but not just for the above reason.
