The "Festering Snakepit" claims yet another victim. We don't have to be assholes to change the game. I hope someone will eventually figure that out.

Nope to both. You can still propose Liberations of founder passworded regions (as Liberations also prevent delegate imposed passwords).

I did this before with Liberate The Greater German Reich. :P

Which didn't pass, apparently, though I wonder for what cause....

Really, a precedent for NOT doing something like this has already been passed, in the form of Repeal "Liberate Nazi Europe". This proposal shows the hypocrisy and the pettiness of the SC at its finest!

No, we are not a nation of cat people. We're all humans (and a few annoying gnomes) here. The cat's just there because our king is such a genius, he saw that it would be a good military strategy to have a distractingly cute flag, to blind our enemies to (our) victory!

Because I didn't campaign for it mainly, as I never had any intention of passing it at the time.

Christ man this is a serious waste of time. It's a region with a founder and has no password. I did not support the Liberate Haven (either of them), and I don't support this one. Come on, why are you sinking down to the trolling that you so despise out of mall? If this actually passes. Insta repeal FTW.

I was ignoring this thread as I had imagined it would die a fast death and I don't know why but I thought tit for tat proposals were illegal...anyway....I am shocked to find it reached Quorum.

I will be voting against.

I've already reported this thread, but it was found legal:

The "tit for tat" ruling only applies to proposals that have no substantial argument other than commending/condemning/liberating/whatevering in direct response to another proposal/resolution. Since the proposal in question contains other arguments, it doesn't fall foul of the tit for tat ruling.

Now that tit for tat rules have been clarified...

SC rules are deliberately minimal. Where possible, it's left up to delegates and players to determine the standards of the Security Council.

If the author here wants to play with fire, let's play with real fire: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=304114#p20886642

I promise never to release or distribute aforementioned tool if the author withdraws his proposal and does not propose new submissions regarding Liberating Capitalist Paradise.

I could not believe my eyes when I logged in and saw this, although considering what you flea-infested hamsters put us through in NAZI EUROPE I don't suppose I should be that surprised, although I did think the excuse there was that damning word NAZI in our region name.

You don't take kindly to threats!? That is funny, because this proposal here, is one giant threat to me. You started it.

Don't worry, the first region I will attempt to crack is Haven.

No, actually, you started it.

You started it when you drafted Liberate Haven. Now you want to up the ante?

This is going to be fun.

Since Ballo already locked that thread, I think it's worth pointing out that this would be RH spam even if it weren't otherwise illegal.

So not legal either way.

Oh, and Afforess, I wasn't going to campaign for people to vote for this. Now? Now I'm going all in.

https://forum.nationstates.net/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=304114.

Really? Don't you want your region to NOT be liberated.

Still against this though. Nothing is despicable enough for the SC to destroy its principles (I think).

EDIT:
I'm gonna reiterate the argument against this that I presented in the insta-repeal thread:
Really, all this level of hypocrisy is doing is two things:
1. First, it's setting the precedent for resolutions like "Liberate Haven", the very thing the current supporters of "Lib. Capitalist Paradise" do not in fact support. You're adding to the arguments of your opponents by doing this kind of thing, something which would definitely open a Pandora's box for future proposals like this.
2. Second, it's showing everyone that the SC is not really following the general spirit of its purpose. Destroying a region for supporting a controversial piece of legislation? That's not "spreading goodwill", that's being petty and exclusive! You're demeaning the very purpose of the SC by supporting such a resolution, something which I am sure you'd actually care about!
Yes, Capitalist Paradise's actions with regards to Liberate Haven were (at least, to you) fairly despicable, but to work by their own means in order to destroy them? That's more despicable than their own! And the fact that their work on Liberate Haven didn't amount to anything but flak, is that not something that you're open to?

For those who think that the precedent's actually been set with Liberate Nazi Europe, that resolution's been struck down.
And for those who think that this would restore the peace, would Liberating Capitalist Paradise really stop them from acting like almost-trolls, or would it make them more vocal? Think about it.

SCOLOEDIT: It goes without saying that threatening to crack passwords is against the rules. Using it as a blackmail tool is doubly against the rules and well beyond the bounds of anything anyone should ever consider acceptable.
