COMMEND STRAWBERRRY FIELDS

The Security Council,

RECOGNISES Strawberrry Fields' (referred to as SFF from here-on in) hard work as World Assembly Delegate of the region, Hippiedom:
1) Keeping the founder less Hippiedom raid free for over a year.
2) Authoring WA SC Resolution #99, Liberate Hippiedom, which freed the region from the Black Hawks.
3) Authoring WA SC Resolution #102 Repeal "Liberate Hippiedom", to begin the refound process.
4) Successfully organizing migration out of Hippiedom to Hippy Haven with over 90% of nations making the move.

FURTHER RECOGNISES the creation of a new region based on Hippiedom, Hippy Haven by a puppet nation, Forever Fields and the successful efforts of SFF to make Hippy Haven gain recognition as the spiritual and ideological successor of Hippiedom.

DEFINES a puppet nation as a nation controlled by the government of another nation.

PRAISES SFF for its stance against injustice in the international community as author of Security Council Resolution #33- Condemn Durkadurkiranistan II (using a puppet nation, Neo Nibu) for ‘Project Purge’ which resulted in over 800 nations being ejected unfairly from The North Pacific, thus helping the Security Council to remain true to its motto of 'spreading interregional peace and goodwill.

APPLAUDS SFF's paintings and artwork as a unique cultural contribution to the international community.

HEREBY commends Strawberrry Fields

Any of this matters to those of us outside the two regions in question because.....? Generally commendations are best when they can show the recipient has made a positive contribution on the international stage which Strawberry Fields has not.

First, we believe that hard work in a region but otherwise no meaningful contribution, however small it is, into making this world a better place and fulfilling the Security Council's objective - ensure global harmony, does not deserve the standards of the Security Council.

Second, we do not see why Strawberry Fields should be commended for his tireless efforts only to simply designate - perhaps gain recognition would be a better word - Hippy Haven as the spiritual successor of Hippiedom and note that Hippy Haven was not created by Strawberry Fields itself but by its puppet nation Forever Fields.

Last but not least, we take note that the nation of Strawberry Fields has ceased to be, for reasons that elude us.

Therefore, we OPPOSE this proposal.

EDIT: Information from Vladisvok Destino reveals that the nation in question is actually called Strawberrry Fields (note the extra "r") rather than Strawberry Fields as stated in the proposal which we have rejected. Strawberrry Fields is confirmed to be part of the region of Hippy Haven.

Given the context of the proposal I'd assume the author means strawberrry fields (note the extra 'r', the author might want to note that too.)

Sorry, but there's nothing here that would make me want to commend a relatively obscure nation whose main recognisable act of late has been to bungle a refound, that of Hippiedom. As someone who has previously bungled a refound, I can empathise, but it's nothing to be commended for.

Good luck, but I don't see this one reaching quorum or getting a majority vote.

I know SF as I was the one who originally suggested that we refound Hippiedom (which didn't turn out how I planned)...

But, I don't think he deserves this, as he hasn't done enough for the community. But, he is definitely well on his way, maybe just hold off on this for awhile?

Still not that impressive tbh, the majority of the proposal is still about his affect on one region and one region alone not any contribution to the international community.

Also self commendations rarely pass, so if you are actually serious about this I'd suggest not having him listed as a co-author.

By the way, I have posted a new draft. And he just edited the proposal as he is an experienced SC author. He's not self-commending himself.

It is my opinion that Strawberry Fields is a clueless, incompetent, vain and pompous leader. He thought he knew better than others that had much more experience in Gameplay and particularly refounding regions and this is why his former region is now in the hands of invaders. He is solely responsible for its demise. If anything, he should be getting a condemnation because he ruined it all for the innocent members of his region only because his ego was just that much larger than his brains.

That being said, while I think Strawberrry Fields was a great WA delegate and leader, I don't think this is a good idea since (no offence Strawberrry) nothing worthy of a commendation was done yet. Commendations are for international goodwill rather than regional, or else we would have every badass WA delegate with a commendation

I am a bit of an asshole in real life (it keeps life interesting, I find), but I am actually 10x more so online. I was never a part of Hippiedom, so your observations are indeed correct. However, I am a leader of arguably the largest and probably the most respected defender organisation this game has. I once asked Strawberry Fields as to how he was conducting the refound and whether he wanted help from us in TITO. He basically said he knew what he was doing and that he didn't need our help. He also mentioned UDL (whose influence on this, I have no idea, but even for them it seemed minimal to non-existent). I respected his wish, although believed he was making a mistake, and I left it at that.

Some delegates hold a region for months before refounding a region, but Strawberrry Fields thought it best to try and refound after a mere few days after the password was placed. I'm sure that most Gameplayers that were watching -- and I guarantee there were many (including myself) -- knew what was about to happen. And it did. The refound was bumbling; it was an amateur effort at best. He chose not to take TITO's help, and not even our advice, because he felt that he knew best despite having extremely little knowledge of the playing field. His arrogance, incompetence and naïveté directly resulted in Hippiedom being swiped by an invader. It's lost now, most likely for a longer time than is worth considering. Perhaps Strawberry Fields is a fantastic delegate and team member, I really don't know, but based on my text above refuting the commendeer's he should not be commended.

Also, to the commendee: Hippiedom was raid free for over a year probably mostly because of defenders (namely FRA, UDL and TITO), certainly not just because of Strawberrry Fields.
