Should prisoners be allowed the vote?

The right for prisoners to vote

Postby The United Imperial Kingdom » Sun Nov 25, 2012 11:49 am

I invite a debate on prisoners being allowed the vote.

It is understandable that when a person(s) commits a crime that a majority of their rights are taken away. We should as a committee allow prisoners this one fundamental right and exercise democracy.

Well if prisoners are allowed to vote, they will almost always vote for the non-ruling party at the time or the one that promises them freedom. It would lead to corruption (either that or I must be really paranoid.)
So with all due respect, I disagree.

I think it would depend on the crime. Those convicted of violent crimes (murder, rape, treason) and habitual offenders should lose the right the vote.
