Well this was removed from the floor for being a rule 1 violation (commending someone of something only an admin could've done) and a co-authorship violation for listing someone who is banned from the WA.

I guess I didn't know that simply mentioning someone who is banned from the WA in the proposal was grounds for removal, but, eh, their choice I guess. Sorry all.

It's certainly not a rule in my sphere of experience, but I shouldn't say anything more lest a certain mod bite my head off for even deigning to comment on SC matters.

That's...kinda odd. You don't even need to be a WA member to be named as a co-author. I can't see why being under a ban should make any difference. Is this a new rule?

As far as I know, the situation hadn't come up before. The hypothetical situation was discussed yesterday by a number of Game Mods, and decided on. Todd submitted this proposal shortly after.

Wait, I remember we discussed something like this before the SC took form, and decided that commending Max in any possible way should not be done because it would be metagaming. Am I wrong?

Thanks Sedge. I was just curious as I hadn't heard of the rule before. I suppose this would also cover things like "Authored By" and "Submitted On Behalf Of"?

Maybe next time, try not to spring new rules on players at the last minute? Todd can hardly be faulted for violating a rule that did not even exist yet. In the past mods have warned against submission until they can discuss whether or not a proposal would violate the rules; that would seem to have been the more appropriate tactic here.

The discussion was yesterday; he'd submitted by this morning. There wasn't a chance to let him know in advance. No, we didn't expect him to be aware of that ruling beforehand. If that'd been the only violation, there wouldn't have been any "submitted illegal proposal" warning associated with the removal.

I'm sorry I may have put you in jeopardy there with rules-breaking, I didn't realize I was barred from being a co-author, whilst there are co-authors who are non-WA members (*scratches his head*).

I'm assuming because when you're banned from the WA it implies you are banned from participating in WA affairs. People who choose not to be in the WA are obviously not burdened with than ban.
