[DRAFT] Condemn The Greater Reich of Jekrehnot

Postby Minzo » Sun Oct 07, 2012 7:02 pm

category:condemnation
nominee:The Greater Reich of Jekrehnot
proposed by:The Diplomatic Empire of Minzo

ARGUMENT-
The Security Council,

REPULSED that The Greater Reich of Jekrehnot has made huge violations of human rights by enslaving citizens and forcing them to take part in experiments against their will, simply for being jewish.

WORRIED that many innocent people have suffered at the hands of slave drivers in Jekrehnot for being jewish, regardless of their age.

THREATENED that Jekrehnot obtains these slaves from other slave driving nations.

HEREBY condemns The Greater Reich of Jekrehnot

This only has two points in it. You need much more material for a competent draft than what you have here.

The first two comments are the same. Get rid of one. If the onlything that Jekrenot is being condmened for is slaving you need to go into more depth on how these trangressions have passed and the inhumane treatment of slaves and exactly why slaving can't be tolerated.

Funny you should mention this, it is precisely the reason condemn motions like this one are not applicable, condemn motions are badges and badges are for rewarding original and creative ideas, and there are literally hundreds of nations that exhibit the traits described in this draft. Unless you can be evil in a more original and entertaining fashion it hardly warrants a badge.
For: Free thought, 2 state solution for Israel, democracy, playing the game.
Against: Totalitarianism, Theocracy, Slavery, Playing the system
Tech Level: FT

Not to mention the target *wanting* the badge (or at least vocalizing such) is a usually a pretty big clue that they don't deserve it.

In fairness I personally think there is ONE circumstance where the person wanting it is ok. Specifically - if its a long-time player who has worked hard at their RP to be evil and totally reprehensible in unique ways over several years then I'd view them "accepting the nomination" (so to speak) OOCly as acceptable. Because its a kind of twisted "reward" for their hard work.

But thats the only time that someone who wants it would deserve it. Just my opinion.

I don't disagree. But saying that a condemnation will "will just give me a plus to my image" is clearly not a line from one deserves a condemnation.
