[Draft] Condemn Nordengrund

Postby Jormengand » Thu Aug 09, 2012 11:55 am

(Note: I may require someone else to actually submit this resolution)

Condemn Nordengrund

A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

The world assembly:

NOTING Nordengrund's attempt to ban political ideals from the government,

DISTURBED by this infringement on freedom of thought and speech,

HORRIFIED by Nordengrund's imprisonment of innocents for no reason but their sexuality, in solitary confinement and with no other option, until such a time as they change their sexuality,

REALISING that this is impossible,

DISGUSTED by their punishment for abortion, which is dismemberment,

BELIEVING that this is a horrific punishment, as well as completely subverting the pro-life attitude which was the reason for this law's creationg,

HEREBY condemns Nordengrund

Sauce.

Any suggestions?

Pretty weak for an RP condemnation, as far as good RP condemnations go. I'd put more material in, if possible. If not, wait for more material. Condemning a nation <2 months old won't fly here with the regulars, for the most part.

Well APART from annoying - and I believe against the rules - meme-spam...

I personally believe that ripping people apart, limb from limb for abortion is worthy of a condemnation. I mean, it's close enough to genocide. And with the homosexuality, I'd RATHER be killed than stay in a low-condition jail for the rest of of my life.

A lot of nations have terrible laws akin to this. It sounds like bad RP to me (granted, a non-RPer). And the genocide was example was just a generic point. The overall idea being that the nation is too young to have have done anything along the lines of a good RPer who deserves a condemnation like Milograd is getting now (the second for the nation, might I add).

Also the past is the past. Yes, we almost did declare war on every pro- choice nation, but we realized how foolish this was and now we keep to ourselves. We now recognize and respect national sovereignty.

Besides, Nordengrund is not apart of the WA at all and never has been. We can rule our country how we like, thank you very much. We will not repeal are pro- life, anti- LGBT policies because we have the right to rule ourselves as we please. I agree the dismemberment thing was too harsh (I forgot I even put that in there), but we cannot tolerate abortion at all within our own borders.

We have seen errors in our aggressive military threats and have now become a peaceful nation. We will still keep our ideologies, but we will not threaten another nation. If you do not trust us, feel free to monitor us, but do not take our right to sovereignty.

We are not in the WA, so this does not affect us.

OOCly I can't see this one making it through simply because he's too new, and truth be told a condemnation is actually a badge of honour worn by such roleplaying legends as Automagfreek and Milograd. So in that sense he isn't really deserving.

However ICly I fully support it, as a fellow RPer (and someone involved in that thread). Nordengrund is an evil nation, no doubt about it.

However as Skyrim Diplomacy said... call me once he has some genocides under his belt.

We are not evil, only misunderstood. Most of the world (in NS and RL) are leftist progressives and we are trying to create a nation just for the right- wing.

We are trying to make a place for the rightist conservatives to escape the hellholes of leftist progressivism.

This is like America making communism illegal in another country.

Nordengrund has the right to do whatever be thinks is right for his nation, yes he may go too far, but the right to be sovereign doesn't belong to the world assembly.
The planet Trae is an ancient land with a sordid history of globalization, war, kings, and gods. We currently boast 8 Billion in total population with a fair government under checks and balances and a separation of powers.

The current year is 2,017 Post-Omega

IC: Kurt Demodand, Radiatia's permanent representative to the World Assembly stood, laughing uncontrollably at the statement made by the delegate from Nordengrund.

"I'm sorry but... what!?

"
  • Death penalty for abortion - despite claiming to value human life?
  • Threatening to invade nations who are pro-choice?
  • Attempting to wage war on the world?
  • Torturing those who perform abotions to death?
  • Having a section of your population sent to jails with appalling conditions just for being born homosexuals?

"Left-wing or right-wing doesn't come into it.

"I am a member of the Conservative Party. When I was Prime Minister of the Radiatian Federation, I was one of the most right-wing Prime Ministers in the nation's history. The country is currently under a Conservative government right now.

"Despite my own right-wing leanings... I find your nation abhorrent.

"Your nation isn't misunderstood. It's just plain evil, and a stain on the international community."

The past is the past. Homosexuality and abortion are still outlawed, but we have loosened the punishments.

Threatening to invade other countries was a bad decision, but we lost our cool. We believed it was our duty to save the unborn.

We do not dismember women for abortion, we now hang them or sentence them to the electric chair. The homosexuals are sent to nations where such a disgusting practice is legal.

Really we are misunderstood. Yes, we do sentence those who commit abortion to death, but we see that as justice. You deprive a fetus's right to live, then you do not deserve to live either.

We instill religious values, support environmentalism, allow free religion, and are against Nazism.

Besides, the genocide part, they are OUR citizens we can do what we want with them.

The contempt with which the Nordengrundian regime views its citizens belies the true politics of an ugly-minded and backward nation. Many of their so-called morality laws are based on nothing but blind religious dogma, and Nordengrund has shown itself to be a nation "worthy" of condemnation on numerous occasions. The Government of the City-State of Phing Phong enthusiastically supports this resolution.

Yes, I know it sad, and probably gonna affect in our diplomatic relations, but we need to state that much of Nordengrund ideology is have in common. Hmm...probably my nation maybe gonna be condemned, too.

A condemnation is only a mark of the international community's disapproval of a country. We're not proposing to engage in any form of active hostility with Nordengrund, as one of our laws, the Neutrality Act, 2555 provides a no-first strike policy. We have "power" over Nordengrundian citizens only in how they wish to be viewed by the world.
