SECURITY COUNCIL PROPOSAL

Repeal "Liberate belgium"
A resolution to repeal previously passed legislation

Category: Repeal
Resolution: SC#4
Proposed by: Castle Federation

Description: WA Security Council Resolution #4: Liberate belgium shall be struck out and rendered null and void.

Argument: Purpose: The region of belgium is no longer in any danger of being invaded. Under this statement belgium's liberation shows no purpose any longer.

Argument: belgium now contains a strong 111 nations. The possibility of invasion is very slim unless efficiently and strongly targeted.

Restatement: The overall purpose of this repeal is not targeted to harm belgium, but to repeal a liberation no longer necessary.

Long live belgium.

I'm not sure this resolution has an actual operative clause (Rule 3), unless we count "the overall purpose of this repeal is [...] to repeal a liberation no longer necessary".

Well, the structure is a little unusual, the punctuation is shot, but I think it's okay.

It appears the author doesn't know the meaning of the word DRAFT, as he posted his 'draft' SC topic 3 hours after the proposal was submitted. ><

This is illegal for multiple rules violations, including the "REMINDED" clause and "APPLAUDING" clause.

R4 violations, I might add.

Riiight...commending someone for making the hard decision to close down a region? Someone should've commended Mahaj then.

Edit: Just realised there's a thread for this.

Since it already has a thread, that kind of thing should be pointed out there.

This proposal appears to have a couple of R3 violations - particularly in the DISSOLVES and AIDS lines.

Players typically copy the text of the proposal so that other players can poke fun at them. Linking doesn't do that since mods take the illegal ones down fairly quickly.

Liberate Communist International League
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region

Category: Liberation
Nominee (region): Communist International League
Proposed by: Soviet Alba

Description: Liberation of the Empire of little flowers

APPALLED that in The Empire of Little Flowers the government has the power to seize property at will,

RECOGNIZING that the government funds private schools for intellectually gifted children.

FURTHER DISMAYED by the fact that university graduates and new home-owners toil in labour camps to work off their debts,

NOTING that inheritance tax has recently been abolished,

PROCLAIMING that the country verges on the brink of genocide,

APPALLED that Arms Manufacturing is one of the largest industries,

PROPOSING that it is the responsibility of the World Assembly to discourage regional and world powers from abusing their powers,

CONSIDERING that The Empire of Little Flowers is the most armed nation in the world it would be in the World Assembly’s best interests to liberate the country.

May the World Assembly forever prosper.

Lack of an operative clause, and doing more than what a Liberation resolution does ("liberating" ... a specific nation that resides within the target region?). Both Rule 3 violations.

EDIT: The following one too. Same author, same violations.
And since it looks like he meant "condemn", expect a third proposal. :P

Commend Little Flowers
A resolution to recognize outstanding contribution by a nation or region.

Category: Commendation
Nominee: Little Flowers
Proposed by: Soviet Alba

Description: Condemnation of the Empire of Little Flowers

APPALLED that in The Empire of Little Flowers the government has the power to seize property at will,

REALISING that the government funds private schools for intellectually gifted children.

FURTHER OUTRAGED by the fact that university graduates and new home-owners toil in labour camps to work off their debts,

CONSIDERING that The Empire of Little Flowers is the most armed nation in the world it would be in the World Assembly’s best interests to condem the country.

May the World Assembly forever prosper.

Lacks any substance at all. Plus he condemns himself? I'm sure that's an R2 violation. Sorry, misread the "Commend" part. But still, could that come under R2?

I believe it is entirely legal (although foolish) to condemn/commend oneself.

And lacking substance is a good thing. If there's nothing in your proposal, there are no illegalities either!

Right?

SECURITY COUNCIL PROPOSAL
ID: ilha_rongo_koa_1347892090

Condemn Mahogania
A resolution to express shock and dismay at a nation or region.

Category: Condemnation
Nominee: Mahogania
Proposed by: Ilha Rongo Koa

Description: APPALLED that Mahogania has been messing around with a non-registered, but obviously school-related region known as shanghai high school intl division(SHSID).

RECOGNIZING that most of those resident nations are just students, under the age of 18.

FURTHER DISMAYED by the fact that Mahogania has inappropriate words/languages on the message board of SHSID.

UNDERSTANDING that Mahogania is in fact a newly created nation and might have no idea about rules of NationStates

PROCLAIMING that even with the above concessions, regional humiliation of this level cannot be tolerated

REMINDED that the nation of Mahogania might keep on doing it to many other regions

FURTHER REMINDED of Mahogania’s lack of respect, and verbal violations to underage teenagers

BELEIVING that a condemnation from the World Assembly will benefit all the underage teenagers currently active in NationStates

Lack of an operative clause. Rule 3.
References to things such as "underage teenagers currently active in NationStates", a "non-registered but obviously school-related region" and "rules of NationStates". Rule 4.

Possibly Rule 2(c) since it's using a proposal to complain about alleged rules violations (instead of reporting them, I suppose).

Liberate Presencia Humus Solum
A resolution to strike down Delegate-imposed barriers to free entry in a region

Category: Liberation
Nominee (region): Presencia Humus Solum
Proposed by: Gitchie Manito

Lacks an operative clause. Rule 3.

And does something that a Liberation resolution can't do - removing invader presence from a region.

Some people never learn. The proposal is basically the same of this one.
Same rule violations.

This is a good one.
A RESOLUTION that would condemn The One Man Democracy of The the land for their obvious violations of child abuse, as is detailed in GA#19* (although this resolution may have just been repealed by a major majority).

The purpose of this resolution is to kick The the land out of the World Assembly, as they are currently violating GA#19.

WHEREAS, a minor is defined as a person who is under the age of majority, and

WHEREAS, the One Man Democracy of The the land has allowed conscription and enlistment of minors as young as 12 years of age,

UNDERSTANDING that each country chooses if and when military enrollment is compulsory,

BUT CONDEMNING The One Man Democracy of The the land for making this choice, given that GA#19 (no, "Post Hoc, Ergo Propter Hoc" does not apply here) still exists, and The the land is obviously violating it,

THE ONE MAN DEMOCRACY OF THE THE LAND is hereby condemned by the WA for their child abuse violations.

*Again, I would like to point out that the legal concept of Post Hoc Ergo Propter Hoc does not apply to this case, as this resolution was drafted before "Repeal 'Child Protection Act'" had completely undergone deliberations.

R3, no operative clause and multiple R4 violations, including the entire last section.

It'd still be a Rule 3 violation, by attempting to do more than a Condemnation can:
The purpose of this resolution is to kick The the land out of the World Assembly, as they are currently violating GA#19.
