Commend Maxtopia? (Crazy but Serious Idea)

Ok, so I don't even know if it's possible to commend a CTE nation. I know there's a resolution from the SC that condemned someone and that person no longer exists. And I can't propose anything since my region only has one WA nation (and he has more nations and he wants to remain in the WA). Oh well, here goes...

Commend Maxtopia! *gets dragged out and get shit beaten out of him, then returns after the medics check him out*

Not as far fetched as you'd think. In fact, we need a RP (and good) resolution that commends the nation of the NS Lord. Not like Max Barry Day-like, but that it meets the SC rules and withstands a repeal(s). I am new to the idea of writing resolutions but I am open to drafting with one of the experienced drafters and, after this reaches quorum and passes, be proud to say I co-authored this.

Is it a good idea or just a waste of time?

You can't commend CTEd nations, and you'd also run into problems with Rule 1.

As Max is neither a moderator nor an administrator over this site, I doubt it.

He is in charge of the site, now I see why Sedge objected.

The CTE rule, yes. It won't fly. This rule? Idk. Could Ard make a call?

If it's an attempt to commend him for creating/running the site, that'd come under commending an admin for administrating.

Well, it could be worded to commend him for his passing of GAR#1, unless that would fall under administration. He's CTEd, anyways... I would have supported it solely on the principle involved, however.

I was thinking more along the lines of GAR#1, being the first nation, etc. All that without the references that would break the rules.

Unless we're delving into [violet]=Max Barry conspiracy-theory territory here, Max is not an administrator. He hires people to administrate the site for him. Besides, I would think the owner and creator of NationStates wouldn't be bound by rules for mere mortals such as mods and admins.

[edit: not intended as insult, but taken out anyway.]

Yes, he does hire people to administer the site when he can't. But he's also an active admin. You can see him taking credit (or blame) for admin actions on the News page, in posts labelled "By Max Barry".

Or you could take my personal word for it ... Kenny! Mate! After all these years, would I lie to you?

In any case, Lanos, it's moot, because his acknowledged nation is defunct, and you have to have a target for a C&C badge.

As to "not bound by the rules for mere mortals" -- does God obey the laws of physics? (exits via NSG)

Surely referring to Maxtopia as "the first nation" would be a case of Metagaming, and thus illegal for that reason, though? After all, first-created OOC doesn't necessarily mean oldest IC as well...

I surely hope not. Everything said in any resolution will be in contradiction with something RPd by someone somewhere.

It has to be "SC-IC" language, that's all. Not forced to be in line with anyone's RP.

Isn't this violating Rule Number One? And aren't the first rules generally the most important?
