By the way, this may not be submitted in late May, as promised. One of the players I think will be very important in looking over this resolution is currently away from NS for irl reasons, and I'm more than willing to wait for him to come back.

Future potential changes:

• I might be able to find more on Felasia and Astarial, per Honeydew and Ara's suggestions.
• I might be able to find a way to fit a clause in on peaceful contributions to activity— this could help with narrative.

Borm, you seem to have missed the meaning behind my words when I said this:

Against, Equilism has raised some great people in the game and if its contributions could be looked at only through the lens of their contributions then I would fully support this.

I wasn't suggesting that if the draft changed I could support this, I was commenting that the region will always be associated with the repeatedly negative actions of its members and that will always strongly weigh against the case for condemnation.

That isn't FRA bias, its a fact that was felt by the natives of TNP, TEP, Equilism itself etc etc over the time. The FRA worked very well with the E-Army in spite of the actions of Equilism's leaders who hungered to create drama at every turn. Too often their citizens permitted them to do it and accepted it despite the extremely negative impact it had on everyone who got caught up in their own egocentrism. Nai is rightfully commended, but primarily for her work outside Equilism in the World Assembly, forums and TRR - as well as reforming Equilism to move away from the narcissism of their past leaders. Felasia, could maybe have justified a Commend if the bar was set to modern day standards when he was active. Ostendt would justify one for their leadership of the GLA/Belgium and mentorship of those in the early E-Army. However, most of that happened before (in Ostendt's case) Equilism or in spite of Equilism and its leadership. Felasia and Nai were great because they looked past the politics and prioritised natives in how they deployed the E-Army, and maintained constant lines of communication with other defenders.

They banned me for calling out creepy behaviour on their IRC (and sure enough, the responsible individual is now OOC blacklisted) and called it 'espionage' - after they had begged me to join their region to help their Intelligence Ministry. Their priorities (historically at least) have always been intentionally driven by narcissism and drama rather than actual care for their community or others and we shouldn't be giving them a pat on the back for that. Nobody is clamouring for this and the case will always be heavily undermined by the negative actions of notable leaders throughout their history more than the positives.

Most importantly, they have done nothing of note since your last attempt to draft this - except being the only region in the Potato Alliance to bail out before the most beautiful comeback in N-day history.

I would assume it's fine for me to revive this thread, given that I do have something topical to say.

I am abandoning the full text of this draft to any author who seeks to improve upon and ultimately submit it.

That being said, I would encourage any prospective author to consult with NuCa (who is still available) and anyone else who understands the concerns he's brought forth in this thread. "Commend Equilism" has been touted as a shoo-in in the SC for a very long time now, but I worry that the mythology surrounding the region may obscure its actual quality. I recall NuCa being very patient and helpful in clarifying his issues over DMs years ago, but don't remember details.

Looking back at these threads brings up some fond memories, and I'm sorry to let this one go. This one was something of a passion project of mine for time, hence why I keep coming back to it.
