Those people do not understand that SC commendations are meant to acknowledge a player's contributions to NationStates, and RP is definitely a part of NationStates. If you choose to acknowledge the nominee's RP, you can provide evidence here demonstrating that he is an adept role-player who is well-regarded and respected.

Yeah, and we’ve commended/condemned people for RP’ing before. In fact, Milograd got two, for example

I like the first line, but I didn't read the rest. :p

Looks good to me, though I too would prefer the "hereby" moved to the following clause.

So I thought about submitting this, but then I looked at the 10 day queue. Then I saw that Navasse has submitted his 5 day waste-of-time. And spammed the delegates about it for the fifth time now. So I’ll almost certainly be holding off on this until next month.

Assembly patting itself on the back. These resolutions are pointless. Vote against, particularly for point C.

Support of course. I do not feel that RP necessarily plays an important role, that is just what happens when a nation-simulation game gets popular and big enough - and has forums. Having said that, in real life politics charisma is also very important, arguably more important than achievements. So a mix of achievements and frequent interaction deserves commendation, it's also a nice change from the Security Council's resolutions lately...

Against commenedment for Knootoss

Postby The Democratic Republic of Invictus » Sun May 27, 2018 4:52 am

The High Government of Invictus cannot and will not at this time stand for this resilution.

We agree with the great efforts and strides that Knootoss has made in Civil Liberties and Political Freedoms as well as the right to freedom of religion.

We have voted against this resilution at this time until such a time that the doctrine is editors to dismiss the commandment for religious freedom that states allowed circumcision. This is not in keeping with our society and beliefs.

We believe that the freedom for circumsion in the nation stated is not an issue for us, but we cannot applaud something unkeeping to our society.

This dossier does not include the general beliefs of my region Taijitu and as such should be viewed as a concern from my individual nation and nothing more.

Isn't the World Assembly supposed to be for important matters, instead of.... Things like this? Do you actually GET something for getting a commendation?

The Security Council was created, in part, to recognize nations for their glorious deeds or notoriety. There is a prestige in earning a Commendation/Condemnation and these nations are internationally accepted examples of what it means to be a good/bad actor on the world stage. The SC is a highly political body, so being awarded a badge here is considered, by some, to be a top prize.

Besides, RP is a wholly commendable action.

TNP's viewpoint on this:

The current Security Council resolution-at-vote seeks to commend Knootoss for their numerous accomplishments in the General Assembly, furthering democracy and human rights the world over. Their contributions to international law include the "Read the Resolution Act", a resolution that requires that every WA member state have an office staffed by a literate, sapient individual to review proposals before voting on the proposal and "Right to Petition" which enshrined the right to petition governments without fear or reprisal into international law.

The Ministry, having reviewed the resolutions authored by the delegation from Knootoss believes them worthy of commendation by the Security Council.

For these reasons, the Ministry of World Assembly Affairs recommends a vote for the resolution.

There are plenty of nations that view freedom of religion as paramount, and applaud Knootoss for protecting that at a WA level.

As someone who was there from the beginning in Taijitu until about a year ago? This is entirely unnecessary. Taijitu would have to do something for you to have to insist that your opinion is not Taijitu's. The region hasn't truly been active for years.
