APPLAUDING Funkadelia's actions in the Lazarene Underground State, which ultimately restored Lazarus' rightful government after a 2015 coup by Stujenske;

ALSO APPLAUDING Funkadelia's timely response in July 2017 to an attempted overthrow of Lazarus' government and the removal of those rebelling elements from the Lazarene government;

GRATEFUL for Funkadelia's continued dedication to the oldest and most respected members of the Lazarene community during their current term of office, including the choice of Killer Kitty (a nation which was commended by this body as Evil Wolf in S.C. Res. Nr. 169) as a high-ranking officer in the government;

AFFIRMS Funkadelia's efforts to maintain high levels of activity in Lazarus, which include the creation of the Undead Dominion of Lazarus and its accompanying governmental and constitutional framework;

NOTING that in addition to serving Lazarus, Funkadelia has made significant contributions to the legislation of this august body through the authorship of two Security Council Resolutions, S.C. Res. Nr. 161 and S.C. Res. Nr. 182;

COGNIZANT that Funkadelia has also served the international community of regions through membership in the leadership of the now-defunct Founderless Regions Alliance (FRA), an interregional defender organization of which they were the last Chancellor;

PLEASED by Funkadelia's significant contributions to Taijitu, having variously served that region since 2012 as a Cabinet Member, World Assembly Delegate, Senator, and Citizen-Diplomat;

BELIEVING that nations which serve both their varied regional communities and the wider global community in such a way merit international recognition;

Leaving aside that this is probobly a joke; what separates him from the dozens of other delegates with a few resolutions under their belts? As it is, even if I was totally ignorant of goings on in Lazarus I still would consider this an undeserved commendation.

For many reasons, it doesn't seem this will pan out well; the number one reason being the people who oppose his actions. This being said, it is not the only reason. As it stands, many people will oppose this commendation and more than likely try to repeal it the day it passes, if it passes. This is an iffy subject and heavy bias can be applied to both sides, so until the current situation with Lazarus and other actions are explained, no support from here.

It could have something to do with virtually the whole world supporting Lazarus against the NLO the first time around, only to have Lazarus revert to being hostile to everyone but defender regions afterward. Just as hostile as it had been before, if not even more hostile. Why go that route again?

Tying this back into Funkadelia and this proposal, it could also have something to do with Funkadelia and Stujenske being two very different people. Funkadelia has contributed more to Lazarus than nearly anyone, and has only ever fought to do right by Lazarus. He isn't Stujenske.

This is not a joke. A number of GCR WADs have been commended solely for their work in that GCR in addition to writing WA resolutions. For example, S.C. Res. № 51 - "Commend Fudgetopia," S.C. Res. № 151 - "Commend McMasterdonia," and to a lesser extent S.C. Res. № 128 - "Commend Harmoneia," which admitedly also acknowledges Harmoneia's contributions to non-GCR regions.

You seem to have the same concern so I'll address this together. On the whole I think Funk is deserving of commendation. If this fails now, I'll probably redraft and resubmit this in several months, but there's no need to not try now.
