Notable cities:

Puerto Santos - The Capitol. Used to be one of the most beautiful cities in the world prior to the war, with great old Spanish architecture by beach and harbor and the Sierras off in the distance. It's unique, and civicly involved history combined with the great Neo-Spanish citadel of traditional architecture known as Royal Station and great port make Puerto Santos a top destination for anyone. The fast recovery from the war has meant that Puerto Santos has a dynamic and modern downtown with the first true skyscrapers in Los Cabreddes, and an amazing nightlife, while the brand new national university has located its campus in the western outskirts.

Lomo Alto - The last true bastion of traditional architecture, as it was built by the Spanish, in the heart of the Sierra Cabreddes. Lomo Alto is the high point on the Puerto Santos & Sierras railroad, and is thus the chief marketplace for all the agriculture of our nation. All the roads through the mountains meet at Lomo Alto, making it a major center long before the growth of rails, and it is a traditional gathering place of tribes and militias. As a result, both the Academy Strategica and the University of the Tribes are located there.

Citadel Libertad - The world city of Los Cabreddes! This formerly uninhabited land became home to a largely unknown military force called the Black Guard whose nationality is mysterious. Also the home of one of the three airfields of Los Cabreddes, the Black Guard brought with them many other military people et cetera during the war and when the railroad came to supply the soldiers, a town sprang up with many foreign cultures in it! Located in Los Cabreddes formerly virgin woods, the Royal Millitary Railroad was bequeathed a commission to establish a lumber mill there, and since it has become the center of a new industry. More then 50 languages are spoken in Citadel Libertad, and eccentric ethnic communities are common in this sprawled out jungle city.

Villa de Rial - The royal city. Totally offlimits to any kind of Commerce, but unlike the Capital also offlimits to parliament and the democratic aspects of Los Cabreddes' government. The larger of the two royal palaces is here, the one that is still standing. Perched on a beautiful mountain top, the city is home to wide boulevards with fountains in the center where automobiles and motorcycles are not allowed, the great Cathedral of the nation with its Archbishop, and temples from all of the indigenous peoples, along with libraries and museums of every kind. Great meeting rooms and guest houses for foreign heads of state are also found here. All are welcome here, but unlike the rest of Los Cabreddes, it is a death penalty crime to disrespect the King, the nation, any tribe, any noblemen, or any member of the royal family in Villa De Rial. The only exemption is for foreign guests. In the rest of the country you may speak your peace.

Well, our capital is Medinat al-Masdar (مدينة المصدر). It only has a million and a half people. The city is almost entirely an administrative camp for the three branches of government and the bureaucracies. The legislature, courts, and executives as well as each major bureaucracy has its own arcology in which the people responsible for whatever aspect of government may live, work and shop. Each one contains about 70,000 people, so not all the people in them are legislators, bureaucrats or whatever. Most are providers of the various products and services they use. The city itself is actually a picturesque garden city on only 5 square kilometers of land on the ocean. The arcologies allow us to keep such a small city with a large population but have it be so beautiful and have room for parks and a spaceport.

Our largest city is simply known as al-Kbira (الكبيرة) "The Big One". It has almost one hundred million people. Some of the skyscrapers go up to where the air becomes thin. There are multiple levels and in some of the lower ones, it is impossible for the sun to reach. In parts the lowest levels almost go near the mantle of our planet. During the high crime era, this is where criminal gangs used to rule, and it was like a war when it was finally cleaned out. In this city, you can buy nearly anything imaginable, as things are legal here that are illegal on other worlds or are viewed as immoral in other parts of Dagnia. There are the most modern retail stores and shopping malls, as well as the old style souqs or bazaars where it is little more than a tent next to a building wall and you have to haggle. The largest corporations in the galaxy are based here.

One small city of not is the Biocity, Medinat al-Hayaat (مدينة الحياة ). It is constructed entirely of genetically engineered coral that can grow on land. It provides natural heat and light through bioluminescence. It uses as little electricity as possible, though the coral polyps contain ducts for wires for electronic devices that we have no biotechnology for. The city itself looks very organic (not a single straight line), but is very functional.

There are numerous other ones, including cities on other planets in our system and even space station cities. These are just the ones of note (or like the cities hovering over gas giants, obviously ripped from a popular science fiction series). Dagnians prefer country or small town life.

[The Kangaroo Republic]

Rivirus - 2 423 000 - Capital city of The Federation of the Kangaroo Republic and the largest city in the country, the Jokinn River flows through the heart of the city, the city is surrounded by a lush grassland area.

Ordrio - 2 210 000 - Capital and largest city of the Maz Roxez district. It is located on a peninsula adjacent to the Turav lake, the winds are strong and the pleasant temperature makes the area ideal for windsurfing, sailing and various other recreational activities in the water.

Davare Havøn - 1 413 000 - A busy port city and business center located in the Maz Roxez district, Davare Havøn is located near the coast at the mouth of the Zedbørk river, it handles all incoming maritime traffic and the harbor also handles the transferring of containers from large ships to smaller ones suitable for inland navigation which will then be transported further to other cities such as Mizge, Nezanni, Dehann, Mateze and Mudzab.

Dehann - 1 212 000 - The largest city in the Prere District, the city experienced a great population growth in the early 90's and the population surpassed that of Nezanni, the capital of the Prere District in the early 00's. The city is located near the Davare river. South of the city is the location of a large dam which produces enough hydroelectricity to provide power for the entire city.

Nezanni - 1 131 000 - The capital city of the Prere District and colloquially known as the Prairie city of the Kangaroo Republic. And rightfully so too, the city is located in the heart of the large southern prairies of the nation, close to the Davare river that flows through it.
