GEOGRAPHY [XGEO]

Map Of Zarkenis Ultima

-Area: 234, 153 KM2
-Bordering Nations: None.
-Maritime Claims: The artificial floating Capital City of Xevaris.
-Terrain: Mostly grasslands, with a couple mountain ranges, a volcano and a few forests.
-Climate: Mainly tempered.
-Elevation Extremes: The highest point in Zarkenis Ultima is the Orzan Peak, at a height of 5,936 m above sea leve. The lowest point is the Black Mine at -12 m below sea level.
-Natural Resources: The most abundant natural resources of Zarkenis Ultima are, among others, agricultural resources and most varieties of metals. Among their unique resources are Grisian Crystals (Of all varieties) and Sigilstones.

-Population Below Poverty Line: 4.2%.
-Unemployment Rate: 5.5%.
-Income Tax Rate: 50%.
-Labour Force: Employment age begins at 16 years of age. Retirement is at 65 years of age.
-Industries: Mining industry, Manufacturing industry, Clothing industry, Retail industry, Agricultural industry, Automatonomic Industry and others.
-Agricultural Products: Grains, cereals, fruits and vegetables are all abundant in the Empire.
-Exports: Crys-Tech and Psy-Tech.
-Imports: Meat, primarily, as well as other consumables.

HISTORY [XHIS]

-Overview: The foundation of the Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima happened on the year 0, as it was this event itself that marked the end of an era and the beginning of another. For almost a century, the island of Griscore had been divided between the Tenebrous and the Zooanthrope realms. However, the end of this war was brought about by the Kings Rodgar and Kaizel of the Zooanthrope and Tenebrous realms, respectively, and thus emerged a new era. For a long time, the Griscorean Empire continued to function with two kings, until it was finally decided that this was no longer needed, and a new system was brought in the year 128 A.U.. The Griscorean Emperor would come to be called the 'Enlightened'. The Tenebrous were known for their mastery over Crystal Technology, or Crys-Tech, while the Zooanthropes were renowned for their psionic abilities. Above that, both races were capable of employing the magical art of Sigilmancy. Since the two kingdoms merged a long time ago, the races have mixed, and pure subjects no longer exist.
However, in the year 445 A.U. began another conflict, one that lasted for a hundred years and ravaged the land, leaving hundreds of thousands dead or with nothing to hold on to... Or worse. It all began on 436 A.U. with the emergence of the first Psion follower of the Nightmare God. The first Nemesis Psion, Vazio Granthe, somewhere in the Demecor mountain range, north of Dellhia. He was hunted down, but everytime he managed to escape or defeat the Zarkenian forces deployed to capture him. Over the course of 9 years, Vazio managed to recruit enough followers to assist the cause of the Nightmare God, assembling his army in the Demecor mountain range and setting out to conquer the land. Thus, the Nemesis Wars began. During the hundred-year war period, many Nemesis Psions rose and fell leading the armies of the Nightmare God, in a conflict that forced down the city of Xevaris, leaving it utterly destroyed, and during which the Noble Magi family of the Gandor was eliminated. The war ended on Winter 6th, 555 A.U. with the capture and subsequent execution of the last Nemesis Psion, Luzbella Lucephar, and the defeat and dissolution of the armies of the Nightmare God. Over the course of the following half-century, the people of Zarkenis Ultima dedicated to rebuilding their glorious Empire. On 583 A.U. the city of Xevaris, rebuilt by it's people, was sent back to the sky.

King Rodgar III Of Nelath:
Rodgar III Of Nelath was the king of the ancient Griscorean kingdom of Nelath, ruled by the Zooanthropes of the Northeast, and one of the two kings that ended the Ancient War and brought about the unification of Griscore and the foundation of the Immortal Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima in the year 0 A.U., Spring 14.

King Kaizel I Of Thaeir:
Kaizel I Of Thaeir was the king of the ancient Griscorean kingdom of Thaeir, ruled by the Tenebrous of the Southwest, and one of the two kings that ended the Ancient War and brought about the unification of Griscore and the foundation of the Immortal Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima in the year 0 A.U., Spring 14.

Enlightened Birnell Gran:
Birnell Gran was the very first person to be named an Enlightened, the first one chosen to fulfill the role of leader in the new system that was implemented in the Empire in the year 128 A.U., Summer 64, when the two kings system was finally dismissed.

Enlightened Garstalk Gaudron:
Garstalk Gaudron was the third Enlightened of Zarkenis Ultima, renowned for being the one that founded the floating artificial island and capital city of Xevaris in the year 347 A.U., winter 23.

Enlightened Trios Maldad:
Trios Maldad was the Enlightened that ruled Zarkenis Ultima during most of the Nemesis Wars, after the assassination of the previous Enlightened, Zalthius Zardomir, in the year 450 A.U.
Trios was the one who organized the Noble Magi families to fight against Vazio and the armies of the Nightmare God.

Lord Magician Cid Tzel:
Cid Tzel was the leader of one of the four remaining Noble Magi families of Zarkenis Ultima, the Tzel family. A talented architect and master of the Noble Magic Art of Sigilmancy, he assisted in reinforcing the defenses against the armies of the Nightmare God with magical Sigils.

Lord Magician Barstan Urkal:
Barstan Urkal was the leader of one of the four remaining Noble Magi families of Zarkenis Ultima, the Urkal family. Barstan, along with Airen, fought in the Battle of Xevaris, where they lost their lives to protect the doomed city.

Lord Magician Airen Vairzir:
Airen Vairzir was the leader of one of the four remaining Noble Magi families of Zarkenis Ultima, the Vairzir family. Airen, along with Barstan, fought in the Battle of Xevaris, where they lost their lives to protect the doomed city.

Lord Magician Celes Gandor:
Celes Gandor was the leader of one of the four remaining Noble Magi families of Zarkenis Ultima, the Gandor family. Celes was the one who led the High Psions, the Arch Guard, and the Gandor family itself against the Nemesis Psion Luzbella Lucephar and the armies of the Nightmare God in the final battle of the Nemesis Wars, where she and the rest of the Gandor lost their lives.

Grand Paladin Master Grysa Zaragos
Grysa Zaragos was the Grand Paladin Master, leader of The Paladins during the time of the Nemesis War. She was the first one to mount a resistance against the Nemesis Psion Vazio Granthe, and valiantly held them at bay on Dellhia for three months before the city fell to the armies of the Nightmare God.

Arch-General Melok Lascanter:
Melok Lascanter was the leader of the Arch-Guard during the time of the Nemesis War. He led the Arch-Guard during the Battle of Xevaris, in which he was slain, leaving command of the Arch-Guard to Celes Gandor.

Arch-Guardian Milus Lascanter:
Milus Lascanter was a member of the Arch-Guard during the time of the Nemesis War, and son of Melok Lascanter, former leader of the Arch-Guard. He fought during the final battle of the Nemesis War, in which he managed to best Luzbella Lucephar in single combat despite only being a low-ranking member and capture her, a deed so brave and bold that it assured him the title of hero among Zarkenians.

High Nemesis Psion Vazio Granthe:
Vazio Granthe was the very first follower of the Nightmare God, the first Nemesis Psion. During the course of 9 years he assembled the armies of the Nightmare God and led them against Zarkenis Ultima. He dissappeared after the Battle of Dellhia, thought to have been slain by Grysa Zaragos.

High Nemesis Psion Vorgon Zilan:
Vorgon Zilan was the second High Nemesis Psion after Vazio, as well as a renegade High Psion and the second leader of the armies of the Nightmare God. While his armies attacked Imperia and Sarkia, he led an elite force to Arreidann, capital city of Garra. After conquering the city, however, he and his elites were slain by resistance forces.

High Nemesis Psion Rheian Zilan:
Rheian Zilan was the third High Nemesis Psion after Vazio, and a renegade High Psion like his brother Vorgon. After Vorgon's death, he led the armies of the Nightmare God against the regions of Septhyn and Vishk. However, when he led his armies to the region of Korus, he was slain before arriving to the city of Ssailac.

Renegade High Nemesis Psion Alto Maedrus:
Alto Maedrus was a High Nemesis Psion. However, unlike the others who were renegades, he was trained to become a High Psion by Vazio himself. Alto however betrayed the armies of the Nightmare God and fought for Zarkenis Ultima on the final battle of the Nemesis War, redeeming himself in the eyes of Trios Maldad.

High Nemesis Psion Luzbella Lucephar:
Luzbella Lucephar, much like Alto Maedrus, was a High Nemesis Psion trained by Vazio Granthe himself. She was the last leader of the armies of the Nightmare God, laying waste to the artificial floating island and capital city of Xevaris. She was defeated and captured by Milus Lascanter during the final battle of the Nemesis War.


MILITARY [XMIL]

-Branches:

The military of the Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima is divided into eight branches:

The Knights of Griscore: The Knights of Griscore are the main military force of Zarkenis Ultima. They could be compared to other nations' regular armies.

The Black Seraphs: The Black Seraphs compose the air force of Zarkenis Ultima.

The Leviathan Corps: The Leviathan Corps compose the naval force of Zarkenis Ultima.

The Paladins: The conglomerate of the guard forces of all towns and cities are commonly called the Paladins. They could be compared to an universal police force

The Arch Guard: The Arch Guard composes the main defense forces of Zarkenis Ultima, dedicated to protecting the Enlightened and other important figures, as well as important locations throughout Zarkenis Ultima.

The Astral Watch: The Astral Watch is the space fleet of Zarkenis Ultima. It is dedicated to protect the Zarkenian homeworld from any outside threats, as well as protect any peaceful visitors.

The Psi-Ops: They are a special operations group composed of the most powerful Psions of Zarkenis Ultima's military forces.

-National Animal: The national animal is the Feral Ones. Known as Feral Ones are all those Tenebrous Zooanthropes that have reverted to their feral ways. They are still respected and brought to their preferred habitats should they wish to be sent away from society. Otherwise, through mutual agreements, they can be kept as pets by other non-feral Tenebrous Zooanthropes, or alternatively trained to serve in the military. There are also Feral Ones that keep their ability to harness the Psionic Arts. They are called Psybeasts, and their addition to the Zarkenis Ultima military force is compulsory.

Tenebrous Zooanthropes:
Tenebrous Zooanthropes are a mixture of two ancient races, the fearsome Tenebrous and the resourceful Zooanthropes. A Tenebrous Zooanthrope is an anthropomorphic creature, with some parts of it's body covered in a layer of perpetual shadow, with traits from a given animal species. A Tenebrous Zooanthrope can morph into a more animalistic form of said species at any given time, though they retain some traits, such as a semi-anthropomorphic posture and speech and thought capabilities. While in anthropomorphic form, all Tenebrous Zooanthropes can extend two shadow wings from their back. Tenebrous Zooanthropes are a very strong, wise and resourceful race, combining traits from the two ancient races to achieve a greater race.

-Languages: The citizens of the Immortal Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima speak Griscorean, but are well-versed in many ancient languages that were spoken in Griscorea in the past, English and Spanish among them.

Enlightened Rozel Asheron:
Rozel Asheron is the current Enlightened of Zarkenis Ultima, revered for his educational reforms as well as his views on charity.

Lord Magician Zardlavir Tzel:
Zardlavir Tzel is the current leader of the Noble Magi family of the Tzels.

Lord Magician Danthor Ulkar:
Danthor Ulkar is the current leader of the Noble Magi family of the Ulkars.

Lord Magician Rezaj Vairzir:
Rezaj Vairzir is the current leader of the Noble Magi family of the Vairzirs.

Imperial High Psion Rigunvalt Maedrus:
Rigunvalt Maedrus is the founder and current headmaster of the Imperial Academy of the Psionic Arts in the city of Xevaris.

Sacred Lord Knight Annon Sathna:
Annon Sathna is the current leader of The Knights of Griscore.

Seraph Lord Imoze Arkar:
Imoze Arkar is the current leader of the Black Seraphs of Zarkenis Ultima.

Levian Master Ashkar Iszil:
Ashkar Iszil is the current leader of the Leviathan Corps of Zarkenis Ultima.

Grand Paladin Master Aria Iszil:
Aria Iszil is the current leader of The Paladins in Zarkenis Ultima.

Arch-General Navirion Lascanter:
Navirion Lascanter is the current leader of the Arch-Guard of Zarkenis Ultima.

Astral Commander Lagard Retor:
Lagard Retor is the current leader of the Astral Watch of Zarkenis Ultima.


RELIGION [XREL]

The only religion practiced in the Immortal Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima is Griscorean Polytheism, which consists in the worshipping of the Gods that have been worshipped in the island of Griscore since ancient times. These gods are the following:

-Sarokka
Sarokka is the Primeval Mother, Goddess of the Elements of Nature. She is often depicted as a beautiful, tall, slender woman whose body swayed with the wind, with her skin made of dirt, her eyes lit ablaze, and her hair a waterfall that flows back to the ground. She is one of the seven deities of Griscore, being the mother of the Elements, and thus, of the earth itself, the very same earth in which most of the different races thrive, and of which ALL of the different races depend on.

-Kerrion
Kerrion is the God of Magic and the Arcane. He is regarded as an important deity to all of the Magic users. However, his worship is mostly limited to Magic users only. He is depicted as a silhouette with glows on it’s hands, a pointy blue hat obscuring his head, and a cape that is blue when seen from outside, but that shows the stars when seen from inside.

-Garredor
Garredor is the Lord of Blades, the God of War and Justice. He is sometimes depicted as a noble, white-skinned anthropomorphic giant with a golden mane and a black plate, who holds a morning star in one hand and a gleaming longsword in the other. Others depict him holding an orb with a half-black half-white orb over his head. He is one of the seven deities of Griscore, worshipped by warlords and peacekeepers alike.

-Septherion
Septherion is the Omniscient One, God of Knowledge. He is depicted as a figure with a blue robe, obscuring his face by holding a book open in front of it, his fingers long and his skin completely gray. He is one of the seven deities of Griscore and is almost universally worshipped, attracting the devotion of scholars, scientists and technicians alike, and even that of warriors.

-Evishkor
Evishkor is the Silent Mistress, Goddess of Shadows and Secrets. She is only ever depicted as two red slits and several grinning teeth on a completely black background. She is one of the seven deities of Griscore and she is worshipped by all those who have something to hide from the rest of the world. Rather logically, worship of Evishkor usually happens secretly.

-Emecoris
Emecoris is one of the seven deities of Griscore. It is the Lightbringer. It does not have a specific domain, but rather is regarded as one who rewards those who have faith in it regardless of that. it attracts the worship of many people from all races and professions. Emecoris is usually depicted as a beautiful, androgynous anthropomorphic winged being holding an orb of light at the height of it's chest.

-Imperious
Imperious is the God of Glory, power, and economic wealth. Often thought of as more of a corrupt politican by some, but he is worshipped by people who wish to gain a political seat, be the envy of their friends, and merchant and business owners who want better income. Most of the time, Imperious is depicted as a large bird of prey carrying a golden crown in its claws.

Separate from these Gods that are worshipped by all Zarkenians alike, the people of Griscore believe in another greater deity, a being they do not worship, but rather fear. This being was named 'Nightmare God' by the ancient Griscoreans, and to this day it is believed the Seven Gods protect Zarkenis Ultima from IT. IT is the bane of Mages and Psions alike. IT is the corruptor of all. IT is the master of disaster. According ot the records, IT was the cause of the Nemesis War. IT was never ever described by Zarkenians or ancient Griscoreans. However, Vazio and the Nemesis Psions depicted IT as an enormous white anthropomorphic silhouette, with a pair of horrid jagged horns of the same colour and texture, and two amorphous wings of an undecipherable color sprouting from IT's back, and wields two jagged black longswords, parts of them painted red by blood. The only distinguishable features of IT's body other than the horns and wings are two orbs in IT's head, both from the same color as IT's wings.


TECHNOLOGY [XTEC]

The technology employed in the Immortal Griscorean Empire of Zarkenis Ultima divides into three big families: Crys-Tech, Psy-Tech and Magi-Tech. These three families are often used together in certain instances, as is the case of Automatonomics, but each of them have specific traits that identify them.

-Crys-Tech:

Crys-Tech is an abbreviation of Crystal Technology. Crystal Technology is anything that relies on the power of Grisian Crystals to work. Included in this category are weaponry, engineering systems, architecture, and others.

[Grisian Crystals:
Grisian Crystals are special crystals only found in the island of Griscore, with the special property that they react when stimulated, generating a certain form of energy related to their color. Red crystals generate thermic energy, yellow crystals generate electric energy, and so on and so forth.]

-Psy-Tech:

Psy-Tech is an abbreviation of Psionic Technology. Psionic Technology is anything that relies on the psionic arts of the user to work. Included in this category are communication systems and other kinds of technologies.

[Psionic Arts:
Psionic Arts are all the disciplines through which a person can furthen their innate mental capabilities. Included in these arts are the noble arts of Telekinesis, Cognitive Alteration, Telepathy, and others.]

-Magi-Tech;

Magi-Tech is an abbreviation of Magic Technology. Magic Technology is anything that relies on the magical art of Sigilmancy to work. There isn't a set range of uses for this category, as it varies wildly depending on the kind of Sigilweaving performed.

[Sigilmancy:
Sigilmancy is the noble Griscorean magical art of utilizing magical sigils in order to perform several actions otherwise not possible by normal or immediate means.]
