In Turmoilandia, men and women are considered equal under the law, but men are de facto dominant. A typical Turmoilandian man works most of the day while his wife stays at home (women who want to have careers are expected to remain unmarried). When he comes home, he expects his wife to have done her job around the house and to treat him with respect while he is in his castle. As Turmoilandians prefer to stay out of debt and to spend within our means, men typically control the finances and can choose what they will allow their wives to purchase. Women are advised not to get divorced in our country as they won't get any of their husband's property and they will have a hard time finding a job as divorced women are frowned upon (divorced men are seen sympathetically and most people, even most women, typically believe that his ex was abusive and unfeminine).

The Administrator is technically genderless, though it is generally agreed that in any situation wherein a gender is hypothetically applied to it, it would be male.

So I guess we're patriarchal.

Our understanding of the term patriarchy is that it defines the exploitation of women by the socially and/or formally institutionalisation of male supremacy and male privilege. In a society of only men how can there be partiarchy? We voted on neither.

The family usually arranges something. Dagnians see it as important that families have on person in authority, but recognize it always being only one sex is a mistake.

Neither, according to the constitution, allowing Rastynhaven to become either a patriarchal or matriarchal society would be the downfall of the Sacredland.

Our law is gender blind. Our society, however, is not. Women are expected to be the breadwinners, and some jobs (especially those related to finance and banking) are considered strictly feminine.
On the other hand, the majority of scholars, lawyers and politicians are male, but we are still much more matriarchal than many other nations.

While all Aurora Novans are granted equal legal rights, economic status, and social position, I would be inclined to say we are a patriarchal society, simply because of the state-sponsored emphasis on social traditionalism. Our society is slightly patriarchal and men are seen as a family's main breadwinner. Even in government there are far more male than female MP's and this applies for various occupations (such as the military or even many offices). However over the past half-century women have been shedding the stereotype of the housewife and emerging into the wider world of employment, especially in politics (although, as I said, most MP's are still male).

The royal family is an exceptions to this having had a large number of Queens as well as Kings since Kingston was created.

Very long ago, at the dawn of civilization, women ruled the empire. Then, very shortly after, men took power and has remained that way since.

The Red Tidean Government does not practice any form of sexual discrimination. Culturally, Red Tide used to have a slant towards patriarchy, but the continued imposition of gender equality has made this slant invisible. For most family's, the wife is usually a better cook and the husband usually a better technician, but it is by no means uncommon for the opposite to be true or for the husband and wife too have radically different kinds of 'skill sets', so to speak.
The Red Tidean Union or The Union of Red Tide or the RTU or Red Tide. NOT Red Tide2.
Red Tide is an oligarchy, with the ruling body known as the 'Central Institution'. The Director of the Central Institute changes constantly. It follows no political ideology, so stop mistaking it for a communist state, thank you very much.

"The Red Tide washes over us once again. But why?"
"It's that time of the month again."
Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

Patriarchal. Women are however held in high spiritual regard for their symbolic purity and their role in the family :).

H-Alba historically was a patriarchal nation, led by a King. His wife, the queen, had no authority, and his daughter could not inherit the throne. Today the society of H-Alba is neither, promoting sex-equality and happily offers equal opportunity to all.

There's a slight patriarchal bias in Frenequestan society, but only because we have our roots in patriarchal societies.

In fact, one could say neither. Years of policy aimed toward social equality have generally negated it.
