Likewise the traditional Yannian weights & measurements system, even though it isn't entirely base-12. It is in fact so elegant, Yannia only uses the metric system in international trade and science.

A selection of Yannian measures:
for length:
þuym (27.060 mm, 12 strépën)
vut (324.726 mm, 12 þuym)
rudë (3.897 m, 12 vut)
kétën (46.761 m, 12 rudë)
meyl (3.367 km, 72 kétëns)

for area:
viircantë vut (0.105 m2, 144 viircantë þuym)
viircantë rudë (15.184 m2, 144 viircantë vut)
hont (2186.545 m2, 144 viircantë rudë)
morgën (8746.181 m2, 4 hont)

for volume:
pint (237.787 ml)
fles (713.360 ml, 3 pint, 1/4 sgépël)
halvë can 951.147 ml, 4 pint, 1/3 sgépël)
cleynë can 1.427 l, 6 pint, 1/2 sgépël)
sgépël (2.853 l, 12 pint)
ankër (34.241 l, 12 sgépël, 1 cubic vut)

Yannia's nation page contains an error. The population should be in millions, not in billions.

For centuries there were several systems of weights and measures in use on TG Island which caused an awful lot of confusion, not to mention the headaches it caused the Trading Standards inspectors. So in 1968 the SI (metric) system was adopted, and all other measurement systems were outlawed. There was a short-lived 'Bring back the peck, bushel and rod' movement, but they soon got bored with being ignored by the government.

Mercia-Northumbria uses the metric system, though up to around 1970 some other archaic units were in use:

Length:
Palekos (= 2.63 cm)
Mijlos (= 50,000 paleken, = 1.32 km)

Weight:
Libra (= 541 g)
Centlos (= 120 libren, = 65 kg)

The Kingdom of Alunya uses the Royal Alunyan System of Measures. Most goods imported into the Kingdom are labelled in the SI (metric) system, so most citizens are also familiar with that system, while our exports are labelled in both the RASM and SI units.

The RASM basis of units is both scientifically sound and reproducible. This is not presently the case for the SI system which employs a prototype mass in Paris, France, rather than relying on know physical constants.

We are always interested in other of measure, and also are quite capable of assisting other Bureaus of Standards in devising their own systems of measure.

TurtleShroom proudly uses the Imperial System (feet, inches, gallons, cups, pounds, ounces, etc. etc. etc.) and has done so since 1796.

We look down on any attempt to change it, though out of neccesity, all scientific and spacefaring occupations are required to learn both in case we ever do joint projects with other realms.

We use the Metric system simply because it makes sense. Everything is a power of 10. It's simple.
It doesn't make sense to have 12 inches make a foot, 3 a yard, and 5,280 feet a mile.
However, our cars get 40 rods to the hogshead and that's the way we like it!
