Weights & Measures System

Postby GOLTZBORG » Sun Feb 20, 2011 6:39 pm

The government of Goltzborg is seeking information regarding
a National Weights & Measures System; as it is contemplating
the idea to replace their Standard System with the Metric System.

Also:

It is important for the government of Goltzborg to know what type
of Weights & Measures System each country supports; so that it
can make necessary adjustments, and conversion scales for trade.

We've always been strong supporters of the metric system, recognising it as the only suitable system for a modern, civilised nation. More importantly, however, we do wish that you would stop

How familiar are you with dozenal mathematics? We've found our metric system using base-12 is far more elegant and efficient than ones using base-10.
Yes, we have a Factbook, for all those odd facts about this bunch of weird aliens.

Domestically, standard Maraquean units. For trade it's whatever is applicable; conversion tables aren't hard to come by.

Well, maybe we did....but I never saw it;
so if you do not want to reply to the post
as it was presented...then just...don't !!

But what if we did ?

There are lots and lots of repeated subjects;
and a newbee doesn't have time to do a search
on every single subject; which may be why there
is such a high turn-over......i.e...your sly subtle
slashing & bashing, making newbees have to either
spend all of their time doing searches, or not presenting
their own ideas...which leads many to leave !!

Seems all that you do is to critze anyone who
trys to get going, and promoting his or her
nation; as you've done this to me too many times
and too soon.

You've got thousands of post...so why not
just leave everyone alone...just for awhile ?

Please :?: .......Thanks :!:

The carriage returns make your posts incredibly difficult and annoying to read properly; can you just type the post as it is supposed to be written, please?

I don't find it his/her posts "incredibly difficult and annoying to read properly" but that is my opinion.

The Federal Republic of Zeppy uses the metric system as its national weights and measure system as legislated by the 1st Congress of Zeppy in the National Organisation Act, 1891.

Without a line break after every fifth or sixth word, I would guess.

By letting them word wrap on their own. That is how posts are supposed to be written.

Well, we use the metric system.

I've gotten different suggestions from different people these last 5 days;
some where polite and easy to accept; then again, there are those who
merely appear to want to keep a newbee down and out...based upon
some of the info I've been receiving.

All I am doing is trying to get going.....and there are those who keep
raising the bar; which is probably in part, why we see dozens of nations
disappear almost before they arrive here.

I accept and respect information that is presented in a constructive
manner; I reject peer-pressure when it appears to be playground antics.

NOTE: For the record....Info from Admins and Mods has been very helpful. Thanks.

Well, then I apologize to everyone and anyone who could not follow / read my posts, if that was what he meant.

I can certainly correct that "little' issue. :)

Thanks to you too....for your reply to my post, and for an explanation.

BTW: Is that a rule here at the forum, or is it just a few people's wants ?

If it is a rule, I probably missed reading it in the info-sheets; so would someone please point out
where the "word wrap" is located so that I can read it.
( like I said...I must have just overlooked it )

Thanks again for your reply.

Just type it as though it is on a word processor - it will appear on multiple lines.

The Commonwealth requires the use of the metric system - and note that the Kelvin is the only legal temperature scale.

Metric, as defined by the SI.
A notable exception is the aviation industry, which uses the international aviation standard of feet, knots and miles. This is largely due to the large area of oceanic airspace under our air traffic control jurisdiction and the large ammounts of international transpacific traffic that falls under our jurisdiction, since most modern aircraft use these units.
