Thats the scary thing though, 1.5 million is only a little over .01% of the Chinese population in peacetime 1% is an acceptable rate that would be almost 20 million soldiers, in wartime up to 5% can be sustained nearly 100 million soldiers, and finally, if someone invades China, it would be considered for 10% of the population could be soldiers, that is nearly 200 million soldiers, compare that to the US which would have little of 30 million if invaded.

As for our ridiculous thing, it is standard issue in our Proletarian Guard to carry a long sword into battle as a tertiary weapon once things get bogged down into a melee. Praetorian Guardsmen, also perfect the art of wielding a melee weapon their choice, this weapon is most typically a sword of some sort, and the graves of officers have an equally revered holding place for their swords which may be named.
