Non-human Creatures in Your Nation

Postby Femifascism » Fri Jan 21, 2011 6:18 am

Are there any non-human creatures (animals, plants, furries etc.) in your nation and how are they generally treated?

As for sapient non-humans (e.g. furries), what would you do to them if you caught some of them by chance?

We have many species of plants and animals, and they are usually treated nicely, and animals used for food sources are treated better than the ones in the USA. As in regular animals and plants.

However, for sapient non-humans, animals, and plants, we really only have some in our research labs, we're only studying, not doing experiments on them.

Yes, we have many non-human creatures in Alevuss, but here are some of the more common ones: takahito, humanoid plants, nekomimi, werevoles, vampires, and revenants. The non-humans make up about 18% of Alevuss' population.

As Lykosia said, we treat them the same as humans. Even the humanoid plants, they have the same rights.

We don't have that many sentient creatures other than humans.

We had a nation of mostly non-humans show interest in getting registered, but it fell through when we suggested including genetic material.

Cats applied for sentience.

It is suspected they were happy enough being 'oppressed', as the sentience doesn't seem to be showing through unless someone suggests cat food companies try to cut costs by using inferior ingredients.

THEN the picketing starts.

But still, when you can get on the internet by putting a hand on a keyboard and staring at people, and still avoid having serve jury duty (unless you live in Boston, in which case NO CAT IS SAFE)...

Sentient creatures must fill out a fairly short form to apply for sentience. Blood samples are welcomed, as is a family history to prove that the specimen actually filling out the forms has a confirmed parentage that is purely of the same species.

Nine generations is the most we would need, although three generations is the norm. However, not many species have shown interest.

Well besides the human so do many of the inferior species inhabit the lands of teh absolute royal federation and according to the recent federal census so are more than one third of the federations population non-humans due to the recent large influx of dwarfs that followed the annexation of Rickasborg.

However as the inferior species cannot be expected to compete with a human being on any level so are they often reserved for such usage as serfs and slaves and in our most blessed generosity given food and our loving care in return for some mere work.

Few species of non-sapients can survive in our hostile environment, so we do not have many plants and animals.

Non-human sapients, though not native to Xarithis, are treated as equals when we come across them.

The Latnians in my FT nation are Latnya's main population. A violent and often times feudal people, they live in great cities mainly semi-submerged or fully subterranean. Humans however are treated as slaves and our the lowest caste in the Latnian caste system. Males are red with sunken yellow eyes and red skin, tusks, claws, tails and occasionally horns while females look very human except for sometimes reddish skin, tails, claws and other features of males. Here is a picture.

We have many non-human creatures and we treat them with respect, because we would not be able to live very well without them, and life would be boring without them too.

As for sentient non-humans, there are none here. But if some were to travel here or be discovered we would treat them the same way we would like to be treated. Equal treatment both ways.

They'd have to apply.

We have a department for that, although it is very small. Don't worry, there's no waiting list though.

We are not aware of any candidates currently in Vortiaganica, they are welcome to take a Special Visa for reasons of applying on behalf of their species.

Humans are the only species considered sentient in Deus in Machina, and the majority of other species have been wiped out due to widespread industrialization.
However, this environment has led to the evolution of certain other interesting creatures.
The cogspider is a large arachnid that, rather than building webs, constructs mechanical traps out of spare machine parts.
The rats of Deus in Machina have gained a good deal of intelligence, as well as opposable thumbs. There are unsubstantiated reports of crude buildings, even towns, built and populated by rats.
A large predator known as the snakedog has proliferated in certain areas, hiding in the workings of the Machine and preying of people.

Oh, I almost forgot

We treat animals and plants well and we're very friendly to them. We even banned hunting wild animals, except if it's fishing, of course. Different story for the birds. Certain birds are allowed to be hunted, but the license for the hunting itself isn't very easy to get.
