The empire was founded by a fox-like species called Kiruri. And was founded in the year 5,550 FKE (first kiruri empire years).

Government of the Kiruri Empire

-Current Emperor: There is no direct Kiruri male heir, and Kiruri tradition dictates that only a Male Kiruri can hold the title of Emperor of the Kiruri. However, in the case of there being a direct female heir (Queen of the Kiruri or Princess of the Kirurui) she is allowed to marry (if unwed) and give birth to a male heir to the throne. The current emperor is Emperor Vulpe, Head of House Da'taal

Unlike most empires, The Emperor of the Kiruri Empire is limited on his power by the Council of The Founding Tribes and by the constitution of the empire as well, But these limitations are not to heavy on the emperor and still allow him much freedom. These limitations were enacted in order to prevent the emperor from unjustly abusing the people and turning them to slaves.

The Emperor holds the power to choose Planetary Vice-Roys, which represent the Emperor on the planet and work alongside the democratically elected Planetary Governor. These two work together in order to govern the planet. One is not more powerful than the other, and hence, if they cant agree on a specific matter, must call on the Planetary High Courts to decide whom to follow.

All planetary courts on the planets, from the lowest up until before the High Courts, are given judges chosen by the people. Out of these judges, the Emperor chooses 5 Justices, the Vice-roy and governor choose 4 and the people choose 1.

All planets have a Council of Representatives made up of 300 representatives of the people, this council holds some power, but is not more powerful than the governor or the vice-roy.

Each system also has a Council of Governors and Council of Vice-Roys, made up of all the vice-roys and governors of the planets in the system. These advise the Emperor on matters specific to the system through a Head Vice-Roy chosen from within the Council of Vice-roys by the members of said council.

Council of the Founding Tribes

The Council of the Founding Tribes is made up of the founding tribes of the Empire. 8 tribes in total and the leaders of said tribes become the members of the council.

This council has no real power, but the tribes are assigned Ministries, where the Council member becomes a minister. These ministries are given responsibilities for their specific field and powers to govern on matters pertaining to their ministry. Each ministry is assigned to a tribe by the emperor, and depends on the current emperor for assignment, meaning that a tribe could be a ministry of Economy and Industry with one emperor and of Defense with another emperor.

History of the Kiruri Empire

Introduction and Basic History:

The history of the empire as a whole is very complex, but very well organized. Not only is there a General Empire History, but there is also unique planetary history (that goes all the way to the simplest, city history) per planet and system history (Which incorporate common history from all planets within the system) per system.

-General Empire History is organized into, from largest to smallest, Eras, Ages, and Times. Eras incorporate Ages, which in turn incorporate Times. These don't have a thing to do with a specific time measurement or of that related mater, and are rather categories, where history is organized from event A to event B and everything in between those, where everything from A to B have something in common.

Each Era is comprised of historic events that have major things in common. The start and end of each era is based on a Major Event that generate different responses from the ones before the Major Event
For example; Era X starts with Major Event 1 and ends with Major Event 2, while Era Y starts with Major Event 2 and ends with Major Event 3.

-The official calendar of the empire is set in First Kiruri Empire Years (FKE or FKEY) which are based on the 'birth' or creation of the First Kiruri Empire (created in 0 FKE). Years before the First Kiruri Empire are written with a - sign in front of the numbers (example: -100 FKE, 100 years before FKE), or with the sign before the FKE (100 -FKE)

Kiruri (Vulpes Lagopus)

The Kiruri Species, also known as Vulpes Lagopus, are a fox-like people, native to the Kiruria System, where most planets (including Kiruria) are of really cold, snowy planet-wide weather. The species resembles humans, in the sense that they are of erect, up-right posture, able to speak a variety of languages, learn, and do many other things the way Humans would, but also are capable of more, such as having far greater speed, agility, hearing, smelling, sight, among others. This species is also great at hand to hand combat (as practiced traditionally in Kiruri culture) and have developed unique combat skills and styles that only true Kiruri could accomplish.

Vulpes Lagopus are almost always white furred. With the exception of some light grey-white fur colors. Kits, or baby Kiruri are born a brown fur color and develop their true fur color as they grow up. The only kiruris known to be of light grey-white fur color is the royal family. The Royal Family is known to be of Pure-Blood and have unique physical traits. Such as changing eye colors, from light blue to light green

Due to the Vulpes Lagopus' cold traditional environment, they have developed adaptations to aid in such extreme cold weather, such as deep, thick fur (which can be trimmed as needed depending of the current weather in the place of residence), a system of counter-current heat exchange in the circulation of the paws to retain core temperature. They also have 'furry paws', where the paws are cushioned and warmed by extra fur. The Lagopus also has extremely good hearing, as they are able to hear things underneath deep, deep snow (on their traditional home planets) and can thus hear things behind walls or other obstacles (depending on thickness and building material).

Culture of the Kiruri

OVERVIEW:

The Culture in general varies depending on the planet, its non-kiruri population, and its influences within the empire. Even with these variables, kiruri traditions stay same or change very little. Each kiruri home planet has a group of Tribes (Which were historically nations on the planet before the First Kiruri Empire) that are culturally considered a huge family. Each tribe has one unique trait that makes it different from any other tribe, on any other planet. Noble Families of the Tribes are viewed with great honor and respect, but these dont have any power within the current empire.

All kiruri live withing a clan. These clans are basically kiruri that share a family name. Sometimes, bigger and more influential clans have clan estates or villages, in which live all members of the clan live. Modern kiruri tend to view the clan arrangement as nothing more than relatives and thus do not involve themselves with traditional clan-like affairs.

Most Modern kiruri also tend to become independent from their core families (mother, father, siblings) and focus on their own families or lives. This is a huge variation from the traditional family relation, in which all children of a core family leave their parents at marriage but will consider themselves and their own families dependent on their core families for many aspects of their lives.

Clothing generally tends to be a mixture of tradition and modern designs, and the common kiruri of teen to adult age usually wears this type of clothing. Younger kiruri and older kiruri commonly wear traditional clothing of the clan or tribe they belong to.

The Kiruri language has, through the ages, suffered extreme changes. It used to be a 'language all on its own and has now become a dialect of another' is the expression used by many linguists to explain how deep these changes were embedded. Most Linguists argue that the changes to the language were due to the huge influences other cultures and languages, like the Rusani, exerted over centuries on the kiruri.

Generally, the Kiruri language can be divided into three historical periods, Ancient Kiruri Language, Old Kiruri, Modern Kiruri.

Ancient Kiruri: This is the least understood and known version of the kiruri language, with an alphabet resembling no other within the influential region in space, leading to the theory that the Kiruri species is an evolution of another species still unknown, and when the kiruri populated Kiruria, they had carried over their mother culture and language.

Most discoveries on this version of the kiruri language have been made on the planet Tenvahr, believed to be one of the original landing spots of the kiruri. The many ruins on the planet haven't been preserved enough to allow for sufficient research due to the planet's extreme weather conditions, however, some texts have been well preserved, like the Ancient Kiruri Language Texts on the walls of the Tenvahr Citadel (mostly describing religious ideas) to allow for a basic understanding.

The Ancient Kiruri Language version is the least related to other kiruri language versions, believed to be due to the huge linguistic influence on the kiruri for many centuries.

Dagomeisi

The Dagomeisi species is that of almost pig-like appearances. They are the native species of the system Dagomei, of which their home planet is of the same name. Dagomei (planet) is mostly desert, and that gives birth to the Dagomei culture. The Planet is home to unique cities, mixing ancient with modern. Most Dagomeisi are treated as low life beings, mostly due to their crude speech and tendencies to belong in criminal organizations, but this is a generalization of the Dagomeisi people and not true. In general, they are strong, and can be very intelligent. Some Dagomeisi have special tattoos on their bellies that signify the family they belong to. Usually higher leveled Dagomei have this.


Hotui

The Hotusi people, also called Hotui people are perhaps the oldest of the species that make up the empire. Once a very traditional species, modern tendencies from other cultures have begun to influence on young Hotusi.

Traditionally, the Hotusi people were very active in mercantile activities. They were the region's best merchants and traders. Hotusi generally never leave their home planet (be it the species' home planet or an individual's planet of birth) because it is culturally viewed as a bad omen.

Hotusi are known to be greedy when it comes to money, but are very friendly and welcoming. They always keep to themselves, but lend a helping hand to all those who need it.

A very typical Hotui diet consists of Manogí bread, Shuashu (an animal that also produces the milk consumed by Hotusi and other species, especially kiruri) meat, Guotuo (rice like grain), Tengé (vegetable native to Hotusia), and Druoquo (type of sweet fruit) juice.

Hotui cuisine is very high class among the empire's other species. A few popular Hotui foods are:

Astuet'ai (Kiruri word meaning 'to be burned') - Consists of Horugo (a spicy spice), Shuitra, Monoqui, Barancá, kluoto (all vegetables with spicy characteristics.) and slices of Uoudo (a fish)

Hotusian Clouds A desert consisting of a 'fluffy' sweet fruit called Cu'óru (Kruó'riu) which is spongy. This fruit is mixed with Star's Essence (Essence from another fruit called Nuamu) and baked. Many other variations exist, but the traditional recipe, the simplest recipe, is the most baked.

Kiruria is the capital of the Kiruri Empire and home to the species. Once a planet of temperate and even tropical climate, it changed dramatically by the time the Kiruri populated the planet. It is one of the most valuable worlds of the empire, not only because it is its capital, but its history and cultural importance are priceless, as well as its location on important imperial trade routes and its strategic position. It cannot produce much vegitation and is in constant need of foodstuffs for its ever growing population. Its moons are all classifyed as 'planetary moons' (moons with habitable planet-like qualities). The moon Meto Kiruria, is an ecumenopolis, or a moon-wide city and is considered the modern capitol of the planet.

Sororia is one of the richer Kiruri home planets. Its largest city, Morok Spaceport is the bussiest in the entire empire. It is also very atractive to the non-kiruri citizens due to its warmer climate compared to Kiruria Proper. This planet, Morok Spaceport specifically, is also HQ to many of the empire's larger corporations, although Vardune is still considered an exclusive site for company HQs.

Desumia is one of the most Industrialized planets of the empire, however, It is also one of the least populated in the system, mostly due to its extreme pollution. Curiously, the cleanest city in the system is this planet's capital. Whats unique to this planet are its moons, which are all populated and in fact Resumia is completely covered by its only city, Simbermaa. The government's efforts to clean the planet have not proven effective, perhaps due to the huge influence of the many companies using the planet for profit, however, the heavy pollution regulation laws of the capital city and the many environmental clean-up projects within the city limits have kept it significantly cleaner, healthier, and have made it a jewel within a pigsty world. Some say it is because company CEO's prefer a clean office space.

Tenvahr is a very valuable planet due to its cultural wealth. It was home to the Santuria Order for a long time and the many ruins on the planet hold the secrets to the beginings of the Order and its power. Selumi Crystals are also located on the planet, which are very important to the Santuria Order. It is not so populated as one would think, but its cities are well organized and hold the same heating technology that vardune does.

Sheilo is the system's most developed industrial planet. The planet was historically an industrial center and throughout the ages grew to be what it is today. Mayoki ruins have been found all through the planet's surface and hidden below it, but do to the constant industrial growth and lack of government concern, many ruins are cleared to make room for factories or urban housing complexes. The planet was once so contaminated that living conditions were just bearable, but the government was able to regulate industrial waste and organize massive clean-up projects that conditions improved drastically. There is, however, a mayor loss in environmental zones and wildlife.

Demayokia was the first planet settled by the Mayoki people, however, the settlements were, for the most part, unsuccessful and to this day Demayokia is still mostly unsettled. This is perhaps due to its harsh weather, which can leave untold disaster. Early settlements had to deal with building protection, which was managed, but agricultural lands, the main food source for early colonists, were damaged constantly. Local edible vegetation wasn't consumable for Mayoki species, which halted even more their colonization. However, some colonies were able to withstand all these problems and survive, which allowed for a permanent population to rise. Now, imperial efforts to populate the planet have seen some success, but the lack investment by the private sector has diminished job availability and the planet competes with its more developed sister Mayokia. The planet also has many strange ruins, some say it was perhaps an early kiruri colonization effort but the ruins are as old as the believed time kiruri species populated the Kiruria System.

Korria, or Kohria as it is spelled in the Korrian Language is the system's capital planet and home of the Korrian Species. The planet was the historical capital of the Korrian Empire, and many ruins of this age of korian history and of far earlier times are located throughout the planet's surface. Historically this planet has dedicated its energies to agriculture and to this day it is the empire's main food source. The planet's temperate climate and tranquility have made it an attractive tourist destination, where tourists can enjoy historic sites or the beauty of Korrian Nature.

Many parts of the planet are completely protected under strict environmental laws, this is why this planet isn't a strong industrial center, even though it has many in-demand raw materials. A large illegal spice trade and exotic goods (rare animals, plants, precious gems, others) trade are centered on this planet.

Dagomei is the capital of the Dagomei System and home to the species of the same name. Once a planet of tropical climate, it changed dramatically although it is unknown how, ancient Dagomei text describe it in religious terms and vaguely describing what and how the changes took place. It is an almost backwater world, but its major cities hold high technology as well as huge cultural and historic wealth.The majority of its citizens are Dagomei, followed by Rusani, and then kiruri. The planet has a huge population despite its hot and desert climate and landscape. Due to the immense population has to have constant water and food supplies imported, just like Kiruria Proper. The planet is also home to pirates and other lowly criminal organizations, however these don't cause much trouble. With the exception of the Black Rose Clan. There is, ironically, a huge military presence here due to the planet's importance as a regional trade hub and as a large producer of military equipment.

Do'en was once a planet almost completely covered by a huge planet wide city, however during a war between the Dagomei and Irisi (natives of Do'en now extinct) the planet under Irisi control was bombed and destroyed completely and then left alone for near a century. Not many Irisi survived, however, and when the Dagomei came to repopulate the planet, the Irisi were exterminated. The planet is basically one huge ruin and turned into a dessert due to the heat of the orbital bombardments, Even to this day, the planet is not recovered and only some small areas of the once huge city have been completely cleared to establish newer cities, Old Alú Ruins is the capital of the planet, and is a rebuilt section of the first Dagomei settlement on the planet. It is believed to be the old center of the Irisi city.

This is the capital planet of the Rusania System, home to the Rusani people. The planet has been considered the one true rival of kiruria proper, perhaps due to it being the capital of the Rusani Empire, the empire that dominated over the kiruria system, but through various periods in kiruri history Kiruria proper was the capital of the Rusani Empire. However, cultural and historic tensions between the kiruri and the rusani people have long since cooled down and both planets enjoy amazing prosperity. The planet is basically one huge continent with no water masses larger than lakes. Environmentally rich, the industrialized planet has been spared the fate that other industrialized kiruri planets faced, It is generally a clean planet and government support to keeping it clean and the environment protected has increased throughout the last decade. It is somewhat far from kiruria proper, and thus the large imperial presence on this planet, which keeps the nearby Mistofeyia system safe. This planet is also the region's most important, being a cultural and economic center.

Kira was the first planet colonized by the Rusani. It was believed that some ancient sentient species lived on Kira, but mysteriously died out. Some small ruins have been found and ancient burial grounds, however, there are no texts that describe how this species looked like, nor was there even a corps at the few burial grounds found. Kira now hosts the largest population of Hotui, Kiruri and Dagomei than any other planet, and its cities are considerably large, with Sonna Spaceport stretching 1000's of kilometers.

Feyucamii is the capital of the Mistofeyia System, it is the farthest system of the empire's capital and center. Mistofeyia means 'home of the unknown' in Kiruri. The system was historically a colony of the Rusani Empire but it was conquered soon after the Rusani Empire fell. Feyucamii is the most developed and populated planet of the system, however, it is severely under-developed compared to the empire's standards. It is an untamed planet, like most in this system, with only a small percentage of the estimated wildlife species documented. It's dense forests prevent much development, however, they do provide perfect hideouts for many criminal organizations.

Important Organizations Within the Empire

The Kiruri Imperial Banking Union: The Kiruri Imperial Banking Union, also known as KIBU, was the largest of the banking companies in the entire empire, and thus exerted a huge influence over almost everything. This organization was so powerful that it was able to manipulate events that led to the death of Emperor Moeurk Da'taal, the establishment of a Puppet Emperor, and generating a devastating Civil War. It also held its own army. It was headed by the Bantaak Family. The KIBU is now defunct and was split by the current Imperial Government into: The Kiruri Imperial Banking Authority and the Kiruri Imperial Trade Union, both owned by the Imperial Government.

Bi'eesh Staan Trading Company This company is one of the largest trading companies. Its mother company was the KIBU. The Current Presidents are Aset Bi'eesh and Buasu Staan. The BSTC is the one of the many companies supported by the imperial government through the BSTC's membership in the Kiruri Imperial Trade Union. The BSTC's wealth and size was split and given to other trading companies and guilds.

Imperial Navel Industries (formally: Bantaak Navel Industries) INI is one of the largest companies and one of the biggest suppliers to the empire for all things navel related. It was run by the Bantaak Family (Clan), however it is currently under temporary Imperial Government Administration. They hold orbital shipbuilding facilities and planetary based facilities all throughout the empire. During the Civil War, many of this company's facilities were destroyed by Shizu Ra'teem's Imperial Government. It was rumored that this company, and the Bantaak Family held a private army and fleet, this was confirmed during the Civil War.

Sí'meon Inc. This company is the oldest commercial organization in the empire, and thus well respected in the commercial world. Sí'meon Inc. produces numerous things but its focal point are droids. Sí'meon Inc. is the backbone of the Imperial Army, providing droid soldiers and weaponry. It is considered the second most powerful company in the entire empire. Its president is Nedalia Sí'meon, considered a "friend of the Empire" by Emperor Moeurk Da'taal himself. Miss. Nedalia has also been closely tied to the Imperial Family, during the civil war, her company supplied the Imperial Loyalists (Loyal to House Da'taal), this action caused the destruction of some of the company's buildings by Shizu's Imperial Government.

Kiruri Imperial Armed Forces

The KIAF is the main body of the Kiruri Armed Forces. It is more of a union of many other ramifications of the army. Its supreme commander is the Emperor of the Kiruri.

KIAF is subdivided into:

*ISDF (or KSDF): The Imperial System Defense Force. It is a body of the KIAF that defends each and every system, and only acts as its defence. The ISDF is not used in offensive operations. It is headed by Head General Mirue Kiat

*KISFU: The Kiruri Imperial Special Force Units are the ones that conduct special missions. This is the smallest of the KIAF subdivisions. It is headed by Head General Camaek Mi'rea D'eej

*Basiisk: A special police force used for special operations and to defend the least known areas of the empire from pirate influence. This force is the equivalent of the KISFU, but for the imperial police force. Headed by the Minister of Defense, and the Imperial Court Security Council through an appointed Head General (Vertuuj Seyeim)

*KIA: Kiruri Imperial Army. The biggest of the KIAF subdivisions, it is the main offensive force. Consists of a mixture of organic life and droids. Headed by Head General Viviel Mateer.

Kiruri Shai'ye Soldier: The Shai'ye Soldier is tough and can fight in all environments, he will never give up. They are armed with a variety of weapons. Kiruri Imperial Family and Others of Importance

The Da'taal Family had been in turmoil for quite some time. With the death of Empress Naei Da'taal and Moeurk Da'taal, and the recent civil war, it almost seems that the Da'taal family would completely falling apart.

Naei Da'taal: Late Empress of the Kiruri, Wife of Emperor Moeurk. She died around 2 years before the opening of the empire's borders. Her death was thought to be of natural causes by almost everyone, but Princess Ashika figured out that the real cause of death was not natural, and that her mother had been killed. Ashika believed it was Ra Bantaak who ordered her death, but when she told her father, he didn't believe her and wouldn't hear more on that subject. After the Civil War, Princess Ashika was able to gather the needed evidence against Ra Bantaak. Naei was of House Sénire, a very prestigious noble house, with a strong religious background. Naei's brother is Master of the Pilar of Ice, a post held by House Sénire almost since its beginnings.

Moeurk Da'taal: The late Emperor of the Kiruri. He was born into the House of Da'taal, the only known pure-blood kiruri line still in existence. The Emperor during his last days became paranoid that the God Santur punished his family with the death of his wife and by his declining popularity. Once a lively kiruri, sadly he turned to a shadow of what e once was. Toward the end of his life he almost never moved from his Imperial Palace on Vardue, and rarely communicated face to face with his ministers or others of political importance, other than Ra Bantaak, his unofficial adviser.

Ashika Da'taal: Princess of the Kiruri Empire, born into the House of Da'taal, and being the last known pure-blood kiruri. During the civil war, her house's status as the Imperial House was removed, she was stripped of all official titles and powers and was confined to one of the worst palaces within the empire under house arrest. Her early life had been wonderful, being by her father's side during official imperial business, and with her mother she enjoyed the natural beauties of the empire with a strong academic and religious upbringing, however, she was forced into seclusion by her father soon after her mother's death, at the Palace of Vardune. Ashika promotes mayor reforms to the outdated Imperial Government (evidenced during the civil war) and plans to grant some degree of autonomy to some systems. She was severely criticized during the early civil war period and until its end by an intense KIBU propaganda campaign. This campaign is still fresh in some kiruris' minds.

The Sana'gaí

The Sana'gaí(Sana-gah-EE) is the unofficial religion of the Kiruri. A reformed 'version' of the original, but now extinct, Santuria Order.

The Sana'gaí is a highly organized religious organization, with two main branches. The more religious Sana'gaí and the more warrior like Santuri.

Organization:

The Council of Elders: The Council of Elders is the 'ruling' council of the Sana'gaí. Made up of the 5 elders of the 'Pillars'. This council makes all the decisions on interpretation of texts among other things. The elders are also known as Masters of the Pillars.

Pillars: The Pillars are areas of the Santuri that are considered physical disciplines. There are 5 and all members of the Santuri must belong to one.

-Pillar of Ice: Power of the Elements
-Pillar of Fire: Power of True Strength
-Pillar of White: Power of light and Mind, Protection and Kir'ur
-Pillar of True Light: Power of The Crystals
-Pillar of Black: Power of dark and Mind, Destruction, Creation and Santur

The Master of the Pillar of White is the leader of the cult to Kir'ur, while the Master of the Pillar of Black is leader of the cult to Santur.

Santur: Santur is the God of Creation, Destruction, Strength and Discipline. He is benevolent, he created all things. This includes Kir'ur. Santur is father of all.

A text of the entrance to Tenvahr Citadel states:

"There are many Gods, but to you there is only one. He who created you, he who has given all to you. Remember him, for he is benevolent. He is the one who opens this door to you. Through your walk, remember Santur. God of the Kir'urí. He is the only one you owe all things to. But most importantly, he is your Father.

The walls of the Tenvahr Citadel describe Santur with much detail. The eastern wall of the Hall of the Beginning, located right before entering Santur Temple, describes him as a being "who existed before time itself" and to be in the "image of a great and perfect Kiruri."

The Santuri focus on the physical strength and of the knowledge of Santur.

Kir'ur: Kir'ur is the Goddes of the Kiruri. She is the mother of the Kiruri people. She was created as a partner by and for Santur. The text of Creation and the Hall of the Beginning describe the first Kiruri as the son of Santur and Kir'ur. But Kir'ur raised him and named him Kiruri (Old Kiruri: Qor-uhr'yý/ later rendered as kyr'urí) which means son of Kir'ur both in this and the Modern Kiruri Language. The only part of the Tenvahr Citadel dedicated to Kir'ur is The Temple of Kir'ur, traditionally, but now the Hall of our Mother and the Room of Knowledge are dedicated to her. She is the protector, the giver, caretaker, keeper of knowledge and Mother of the Kiruri.

The Sana'gaí, as keepers of knowledge, were given the rights to the Ancient's Archives ( the oldest collection of texts within the Kiruri Empire, mostly religious texts.) Their modern temples have a room called 'home of Local Knowledge' (Ta'-ia den Maaq'uié), where local texts are kept. There are temples can be found throughout the empire, from the smallest village to the largest of cities, even in places where the Kiruri population is a minority. A large non-kiruri community of followers are present in traditionally non-kiruri planets.
