They're not actively employed, but are still enlisted and technically considered a part of the military.

If you read that whole thing, you'd probably understand.

In NS, that's still not kosher, from what I understand.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: Every Veren is registered for the Veren National Service Act when born, and upon their 18th birthday, they are required to visit their local recruitment depot. This is where all citizens are enlisted in the military, unless rejected for physical, mental, legal, or health reasons. Once enlisted, citizens have the choice of how to serve their draft period. They can sign up with the military and become an active soldier, join Civil Protection services (Police, Fire, EMT and other emergency services) or other civil service positions, sign up with the VDC Reserve and attend yearly training exercises, or resist and face detention. However, and enlisted citizen is required to enter service if required, even if they chose an alternative. For the soldiers that chose to enlist, they face a year and a half long rigorous training course. Over this six months, they learn Drill and Ceremony, Military History, Military Structure, Military Doctrine, Land and Obstacle Navigation, First Aid, Teamwork, Unarmed/Hand to Hand Combat, Usage and maintenance of weapons, Water Confidence, Space Confidence, and general combat and technical knowledge.

Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine: The Veren Commonwealths military doctrine uses the combined strength of land, air, and space to form a solid front line, and reinforces that front line with state of the art technology. The Veren Commonwealths emphasizes combined-arms warfare as well as operational warfare and strongly stresses the annihilation of the enemy rather than defeat. The prime objective of the Veren Commonwealths military is to create an impenetrable shield in which its forces, thus creating 360 degree protection from all threats. This objective is considered to be the most important, even if it stalls the force and slows it down. Once this shield has been created, it then focuses on attacking and destroying all enemy targets of strategic importance then wiping out remaining forces. When attacking, the Veren Commonwealths prefers drawn out long ranged bombardment and siege warfare and goes in for the kill when the enemy beat down enough. These sieges rely on the military to envelop the target in the shield and not allowing access from the outside and not letting the inside get out.
Brief Summary of Military Culture: The joint forces of the Veren Commonwealths are entirely unified. All soldiers and officers are required to respect the chain of command and adhere by military regulation to the letter. This gives the military the uniform and unbreakable structure that is required to carry out its operations. All soldiers are expected to obey orders and carry out with them unless a more successful alternative can be found. In the event of a stale mate or a sign of losing an invasion, the military wipes everything out by using nuclear weapons or intense orbital bombardment. On a tactical level, soldiers are use as much suppressive fire as possible and constantly advance.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities): Officers have great skill in tactical situations, and have an extremely good idea of what it takes to turn the tide of a battle.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities): Officers are also well versed in strategic warfare

Assessment of Logistical Capabilities: Virtually flawless when on the defensive, the development of Veren Infrastructure allows quick transportation of massive amounts of supplies and personnel. On the offensive, the military’s logistical capacity only decreases by a slight amount. As the shield advances, logistical forces follow behind it and make infrastructure to support combat operations. If this cannot be achieved, required supplies are flown in or dropped from specially designed containers from space.

It's like the Selective Service Act in the US. Everyone is signed up, but not everyone is actually in the military. The only difference is that they're considered part of the military. But they aren't a part of the military.

Level III
Kingdom of Darmen features a military that is devastatingly outclassed in equipment and training. Not only are they outclassed, but infantry formations would find themselves further strapped by an extremely small logistical force when compared to the main combat forces, and even further saddled by an odd assortment of light arms that conflict with one another. When coupled with a belief in infallibility of command, we find it hard to believe that morale is kept high. Overall, while they do have 30 million combat soldiers, their combat effectiveness is extremely low and whether it is on the offensive or defensive victory is assured.
In the air, the Marshite Air Force is much larger and technologically advanced. While HMAF is dominant, the Darmen Air Force does not suffer from a ridiculously devastating flaw as does their Army and, as such, it passes as a concern for some time. In the end however, M-SAD does not see a scenario wherein the HMAF does not attain complete air supremacy within a week, perhaps two.
The same can be said in regards to their Navy; it does not pose a threat in terms of defeating the HMN, but it can pose a risk in the short term.
Their militia forces are somewhat large but are completely and totally outclassed to such an extent that despite their numbers they pose less of a concern that it would otherwise.
They are a low-level III because their Navy and Air Forces, while outnumbered and outclassed, could provide some form of resistance for a time. On the ground, their militias and army are utterly at a loss in every conceivable fashion against the HMA, and they are given consideration due to numbers and that alone.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: Roughly 60% of Novikovian recruits are volunteer, however the training process for volunteers and conscripts is mostly the same. The whole process starts with a week-long processing period during which troops are broken up according to their skill levels, dedication, and intelligence via a series of written, oral, and physical tests. Troops break down Category I, II, or III units with Category I units receiving the best training. Category I units are formed of the top 2-5% of the available recruits, and are all-volunteer, whereas Category II and III units are mixed volunteer and conscript composition, and receive less training. Category I units complete an 16 week program that covers physical training, marksmanship, close-quarters combat, tactics, joint-forces maneuvers, survival skills and live-fire exercises. Category II units go through a shorter 11 week program which covers physical training, marksmanship, close-quarters combat, survival skills, and basic infantry tactics. Category III units receive only an eight week program in physical training, marksmanship, close quarters combat, crowd control, and arrest methods. Category I troops can then elect to move on to specialized training as commissioned or non-commissioned officers in a six month leadership and tactics course, or as members of Novikov’s elite airborne or naval infantry, or they can simply be assigned to an active duty unit as a rifleman. Category II and III troops are also eligible to receive training as NCOs, provided their intelligence tests are within a certain range, and can also test into a variety of specialized positions in the infantry - namely as linguists, mechanics, medics, cooks, and other auxiliaries. Those that do not join one of these specialized programs are assigned to a unit. Category I troops typically end up in ‘Guards’ or elite units, while Category II soldiers compose most other active and reserve formations. Category III units are exclusively reserve or logistical units, although they are often used to supplement local police forces. Category I and II combat units receive a further four to eight months of specialized training in their specific roles, while Category III units receive far less training and rarely conduct combat exercises. Category I and II units also regularly conduct brigade-sized drills against the local Oceanian garrison forces, providing them with greater experience in brigade and battalion level tactics. Many NVOK and FNOK squadrons conduct similar training exercises against their Oceanian counterparts. Thanks to the ongoing conflict in Gabriko, all Category I, and roughly half the Category II divisions have combat experience in the past 18 months. Many career soldiers, enlisted and officers alike but particularly NOK NCOs, have previous experience during the Novikov-Azazia War in 2005.

NROK units are composed of a mix of Categry II and III units. Troop strength is kept at approximately 5-10% of combat strength. In times of conflict, the NROK's Inactive Reserve, a force of former NOK soldiers and conscripts who serve in the Inactive Reserve for a period equal to 75% of their active duty enlistment, is called up to bolster these numbers. A surprising number of inactive reserve members have previous combat experience, however their physical conditioning and familiarity with new doctrine and equipment tends to be poorer than most active duty units. To combat this, NROK units are periodically called up to full strength and given some supplimental training, although such periods rarely occur more than twice a year.
Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine: Novikovian military doctrine focuses on a layered and flexible defense of the Novikovian homeland. Novikov's first line of defense is the Self Defense Force Fleet (FNOK). Carrier aircraft, land based bombers like the Tu-22M, and new Anti-Ship Ballistic Missiles allow the FNOK to aggressively engage hostile navies at a distance, and to dominate the south-eastern approaches to Nova. Patrols by airships and diesel-electric submarines, hundreds of sonar listening posts, and satellite observation, and over-the-horizon radar provide real-time updates to the FNOK's sophisticated information network, and allow coordinated strikes from multiple levels (submarine, aircraft/airships, surface combatants, and long range missiles). The FNOK's submarine force is regarded as an elite arm of the Novikovian military, and utilize coordinated strikes by multiple submarines in concert. These operations are supported by VLF and ELF transmission from a centralized command, as well as though special sonar transmitters located in strategic locations. Diesel-electric boats defend the Novikovian coast, using such wolf-pack tactics against any hostile naval group, while nuclear subs can strike at distant trade lanes or launch cruise missile strikes against ground-targets.

The Air Self Defense Force (NVOK) also operates a sophisticated information-sharing network, which provides pilots with real-time updates on battlefield conditions. This allows for a coordinated strike by advanced aircraft such as the Eurofighter Typhoon. The NVOK doctrine emphasizes control of the air, with ground support and electronic warfare taking a secondary role. However, the NVOK does employ a considerable number of attack aircraft, although they tend to be of lower quality than dedicated fighters. Recent purchases of Tu-160 strategic bombers provide a limited long-range strike option against naval or ground targets. The NVOK also includes tens of thousands of air defense troops, operating land based defenses around cities and important strategic locations across the country.

The Ground Self Defense Force (NOK) focuses on a rapid response to any attack on Novikovian soil. A strong system of coastal defenses, first developed by engineers from the Macabees fifteen years ago and recently strengthened by a $330 billion investment in 2011, allow brigade-size coastal defense units to delay enemy landings while strong mechanized infantry and armored divisions assemble and rapidly strike the hostile beachhead. Coastal defense forces can now call upon new heavy tanks battalions for additonal frontline support. NOK divisions tend to be quite strong in artillery and mortars, allowing for massed artillery barrages to suppress enemy positions. Air Defense also forms an integral part of each division, providing a strong protection against air attack. Airborne and air cavalry (helicopter) divisions provide options for a more flexible response. In the event of an enemy breakthrough, specially trained mountain and semi-motorized cavalry units are available to support defending NOK forces in Novikov's mountainous regions. Airborne and Naval Infantry units also provide a limited option for offensive action beyond the Novikovian homeland. All operations are supported by satellite and airship observation, and through a sophisticated communications network. Thousands of small, hidden supply caches allow the NOK to operate in the face of heavy air strikes, and many decoy supply depots, bunkers, and tanks allow defenders to soak damage from such strikes.

In the face of an imminent invasion of the Novikovian homeland, the NROK will be mobilized, providing additional manpower to buffer the defense. At a full mobilization, the NROK can provide over 18,5 million additional troops - a vital reserve for any protracted conflict. Novikovian doctorine calls for them to be employed in support of regular units - lending additional weight and firepower to the defense. The RVOK doctorine focuses much more strongly on ground support missions, and includes a much higher percentage of ground attack aircraft - unsurprising as the Reserve Air Defense Corps is under the direct control of the NROK command.
Brief Summary of Military Culture: Novikovians have a long military history and are particularly proud of their navy and submarine force. This military culture has been suppressed in recent years, as the role of the Royal Army and Navy has eclipsed Novikov's own military forces. However, the NOK is still a rallying point for nationalist pride in Novikov. This tends to be especially true for specific families, generally former members of the nobility, which have strong historic links with Novikov's officer corps.
Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities): Officers are well trained in small unit tactics, and regularly drill to hone their skills. Officer corps is all-volunteer and mostly career soldiers, so knowledge retention is high. NCO skills are also high, although suffer in some Category III Divisions, which tend to have the highest numbers of conscript NCOs. Because of the high number of career officers, most have some combat experience during the 2005 Novikov-Azazian War. The same is true of many NCOs, particularly in Category I or II divisions.
Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities): Defensive focus in Novikovian strategy has limited our strategic development. However, Novikov still possesses a capable strategic ability, particularly in it's flexible naval doctrine.
Assessment of Logistical Capabilities: Highly developed internal logistical capabilities, with hundreds of small underground supply depots spread across the country. Large numbers of support and logistics units keep the standing military well supplied, as well as provide manpower reserves. Modest sealift capabilities have been greatly expanded, enabling the NOK to deploy Corps-sized units overseas. Airlift continues to lag behind.

Paramilitary Group: The Czechzen National Police (CSP) / The Special Department for Information Warfare (SOpIV) / The Novikovian People’s Regiments (NNO)

Stated Purpose of Paramilitary Group(s): The CSP is tasked with the defense of Czechzen territories within the Novikovian Federation, including coastal and air patrol.

The SOpIV is a small, specialized paramilitary group, under joint military and civilian control, withe the stated task of conducting virtual attacks on high-tech enemy assets such as command-and-control networks, or economic infrastructure such as stock exchanges.

The NNO is an organization which exists almost exclusively on paper, as an emergency plan by the Novikovian government to mobilize its citizens in the face of an invasion of the Novikovian homeland. It is based on the example of the informal volunteer Narodnoe Opolcheniye units employed by the Russian Empire and organized on a provincial or local level in defense of their homes. In its modern form, the Novikovian Premier can call up the NNO in the event of a national emergency. Units are to be organized on an ad-hoc basis, from kraj to kraj and town to town. There are hundreds of millions of potential volunteers, but only a small core of trained officers/NCOs intended to provide leadership and coordinate NNO activities.
Small Arms Used: AK-74 Assault Rifle (chambered for 7mm Oceanian), Baretta 9mm Pistol, Uzi Submachinegun, NNO may utilize various other sport rifles, shotguns, or pistols
Body Armor Used: Indigenous Kevlar flak vest, M-39 steel helmet with Kevlar overlay.
Infantry Support Weapons Used: FN Minimi (chambered for 7mm Oceanian)
Anti-Tank/Anti-Vehicle Weapons Used*: RPG-7, P18 20mm Anti-Material Rifle (Indigenous)
Artillery Used: 75mm and 105mm Towed Artillery Pieces, 81mm Mortar (Indigenous), 125mm Sprut Anti-Tank Gun.
Vehicles Used: URO VAMTAC, MOWAG Piranha IIIG, AMX 10 PAC 90 Fire Support Vehicle, AMX 10 TX 120mm Mortar Carrier.
Patrol Ships Used: 24 Floreal Class Light Frigates, 55 VCSM Class Fast Patrol Boats, 12 D'Estienne d'Orves Class Avisos, 2 Suffern Class Frigates, 1 Tourville Class Frigate, 1 Clemenceau Class Aircraft Carrier, 10 Mečun-class Diesel-Electric Submarines (Indigenous)
Aircraft Used: AS 532 Cougar, L-1 Duša (Indeginous), Mirage F1, Super Étendard
Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: CSP members are all trained to the standard of a Category III military unit, but are all volunteers. All CSP officers and NCOs, as well as many regulars are career soldiers and all serve substantially longer enlistments than Category III NOK divisions. CSP units regularly conduct battalion-sized training exercises in Czechzenia's rugged forests and mountains, and have extensive knowledge of local terrain.

SOpIV employs some of the best and brightest in Novikov's civilian IT field. Recruitment is all volunteer. Average salaries tend to be higher in the SOpIV than any other military or paramilitary branch.

The NNO possesses two distinct levels of training. In each village, one or two NOK Category II NCOs are stationed, as the commanders of nominal NNO ‘Regiments.’ These men are specifically chosen for their skills as instructors, and are well versed in guerilla tactics. They exist to organize, train, and lead their NNO ‘Regiments.’ Other members of the NNO will inevitably vary in regards to training, depending on the background of each local volunteer. All, however, are civilians and most lack any military training. Because these men will only be called upon in a dire emergency, little time will be available to train these men and they will likely have little more than some target practice prior to being called upon.
Brief Summary of Standard Doctrine: The CSP maintains a strong doctrinal emphasis on border patrol, but with a growing emphasis on limited independent action. The CSP has recently received independent funding from the Oceanian government, allowing it to greatly expand it's manpower and material capabilities. Submarines, an aircraft carrier, and other combat vessels provide the CSP with a powerful coastal defense capability, as well as a limited ability to project force beyond Czechzenia‘s maritime boundaries. This ability to project force overseas is, however significantly hampered by a lack of logistical vessels, limiting operations to a few thousand kilometers from a Czechzen port. Helicopters and light aircraft enhance the CSP's reconnaissance and ground-support capabilities. New APCs and light armored vehicles improve the mobility of new formations and these, as well as some towed artillery, enhance the CSP ground force's defensive abilities. In the event of a military attack, the CSP would operate in support of local NOK units, fighting delaying actions and providing limited front-line support while protecting rear areas and providing naval and aerial reconnaissance.

The SOpIV operates three large facilities within Novikov, and is believed to own several more servers overseas in Celeria and other undisclosed locations. This allows them to conduct strong attacks, particularly on civilian infrastructure which tends to be less well defended than government or military targets. Many civilian hackers, including some of Novikov's most notorious criminals, are now affiliated with the organization, and it is known for it's particularly aggressive and insidious viruses.

The NNO is a last-ditch attempt at preventing an enemy take-over of the Novikovian homeland. In such a situation, NNO units would be mobilized to assist in the defense of Novikov’s principal cities, and to fight a guerilla war behind enemy lines. Their purpose is to harass the enemy, disrupt his communications, and force him to commit a significant quantity of his troops to garrison duty, slowing any continued offensive. The NNO is not intended to serve in any frontline capacity, although Novikovian military theorists believe these units could be employed effectively in defending urban centers. While estimates for NNO volunteers range as high as 550 million, NNO stockpiles only contain enough small arms for about 80 million.
Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture: The CSP is the successor to the Czechzen Army. As such, it serves as a rallying point for Czechzen nationalism and receives strong public support in Czechzenia.

The NNO would comprise individuals from many sections of society, with a varied attachment to Novikov’s military culture. However, many small groups of dedicated NNO supporters conduct their own training exercises in Novikov’s rural areas and display considerable enthusiasm for the organization.
Are the organizations primarily Offensive or Defensive?: The CSP is principally defensive, but with options for limited force projection (air strikes, a carrier, and potentially submarines).

SOpIV conducts strictly offensive attacks on digital infrastructure, while the task of defending Novikovian cyberspace is left to Novikov's civilian intelligence agencies.

NNO is strictly defensive, and is only called upon in a national emergency.
Are the organizations under a clear Military command, under clear command of the State, or mostly independent?: The CSP command structure recognizes the Governor of Prostéjov as their Commander-in-Chief, and as such the Novikovian government can exercise considerable power and control over the group.

The SOpIV, meanwhile, operates almost completely independently, conducting regular attacks against a variety of nations, all aimed at stealing military or civilian secrets. These attacks may or may not be in line with current government policy.

The NNO can only be called up by the Novikovian Premier, allowing very strong government oversight of the national organization. Individual groups of NNO enthusiasts, however, train and organize independently of any government oversight.
Is there significant civilian support for the Paramilitary groups? Yes
Personnel: Approx. 1.840.000 CSP Support Personnel / 3.100 SOpIV Personnel of All Types / Estimates for NNO strength vary between 150.000.000 and 550.000.000 potential volunteers
Combat Personnel: Approx. 510.000 CSP Combat Troops, 7.500 Ship Crewmen, and 3.000 Pilots / 400.000 NNO Military Instructors

Overall Assessment: The Novikovian Self Defense Force possesses sufficient manpower and equipment to defend the Novikovian homeland. Recent additions improve the NOK's ability to project force - particularly through the use of airships, strike aircraft, and new long-range missile platforms. These capabilities are further multiplies through the addition of advanced communications and information systems, which provide improved command and control, and an enhanced ECW option. Airlift and sea lift capabilities are growing but remain relatively poor. Novikov's principal means of conducting offensive operations remains through the use of it's carrier groups and submarines, however these assets are also growing.

Are the branches of the Military united with a clear command structure for use between branches?: Yes. The NOK possesses a strong centralized command, with the Novikovian Premier serving as overall Commander in Chief, and considerable communications between the various branches in line with Novikov's combined arms doctrine.
Are Strategic Decisions decided by Military or Civilian leadership?: All operations require civilian approval except in national states of emergency, when the NOK high command is tasked with making such strategic decisions.
Are the branches more or less united, with open co-operation between the branches?: Yes.
Are there any enmities between branches?: Only friendly competition between branches of the NOK. The CSP, however, is viewed with some suspicion, and some members of the CSP are openly critical of the Novikovian military presence in Czechzenia.
Is the overall Strategic Doctrine Defensive or Offensive?: Defensive
Nuclear Option?: No. All nuclear, biological, and chemical weapons have been removed from service and are currently being dismantled.
How many?: None.
Via Submarine?: N/A
Via Strategic Bomber?: N/A
Via land-based ICBM?: N/A
Via land-based TBM?: N/A

Resubmitted for the hell of it. This is what you get for having such a badass form, HM. I'm basically using this thread as my military factbook. Changes from last evaluation are as follows:

Added NROK inactive reserve units, providing 18,5 million additional troops. Also added NNO Paramilitary Organization for glorious militia swarms. Significantly increased standing military size for all branches, including large tank (T-72) and aircraft (Mirage F1) reserves. Added new equipment, including improved MRLS. Continued FNOK modernization & expansion, including the addition of 4 new carriers and 3 new cruisers, as well as more submarines. Significantly expanded sealift capabilities (34 new Algol-class Container Ships). Purchased a large force of AY1 'Serenity' Heavy Tanks for local support of coastal defenses. Further purchased Lyran Arms Ly910 and YA-42E fighters to begn modernizing the NVOK. Significantly increased the number of heavy bombers and observation airships in use. CSP expanded to include more power surface fleet, including one carrier.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: All personnel are bred for military service and begin training at birth. Training is quite intensive; basic training involves teaching personnel proficiency in weapons, ability and willingness to kill, survival in the harsh Tenurian environment and reconnaissance, usually to be completed by the age of twelve. Intermediate training focuses on tactics and permits greater specialisation, while advanced training focuses primarily on coordination and it is common to throw advanced cadets into actual military situations under the reasoning that the qualified ones will survive. Nonetheless, many personnel will never participate in combat, instead serving in logistical or police roles unless the Union is invaded.
Union training is noted for its unusual brutality; near the end of each candidate's training, they must [DATA REDACTED]. All personnel undergo this training, whether they are to serve in combat or support roles; logistical personnel are supplied with small arms and considered fully combat capable, and indeed combat assignments are rotated with some frequency.
Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine: Standard military doctrine revolves around gaining absolute supremacy through whatever means necessary. Assaults tend to be short and highly concentrated to avoid overstretching of resources. The Union military forces do not make a distinction between civilians and combatants, and will prioritise targets by amount of destruction caused to the enemy in absence of more specific directions. Above all, however, each mission is to be considered on its merits. If standard doctrine would not apply, the Armiferi will be instructed accordingly. Though individuality is, as always, frowned upon, flexibility from a unit commander is considered praiseworthy and initiative-taking is collectively rewarded.
Brief Summary of Military Culture: si'Thaluö military culture is very single-minded. Everything is focused on the objective to be achieved. Individual soldiers are not important; they may form deep bonds based on their interaction in the field, but on a personal level each soldier is just another tiny part of a cog in the machine. Previously, the personnel assignments for units were rotated every thirty days to prevent close bonds from growing between soldiers, but it was discovered that this reduced efficiency and the practice was discontinued.
Within the wider Union society, as it were, the military is a small but important part, being devoted to the expansion of the Union into the rest of the world. Its comparatively small size is thus only due to the emphasis the High Command places on quality. Each regular is the equivalent of another nation's special forces. Each special forces unit [DATA REDACTED].
Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities): Most officers being chosen from among the highest-ranked enlisted men, they are both highly experienced and well versed in field command. Officer training covers additional tactical situations in some detail, but it is not quite as intensive, and the best training is held to be in the field. Faith in the officer corps is more or less a given.
Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities): Much more officer training is spent on strategic capabilities, which may often be lacking. Typically, higher-level officers (those commanding cohorts and larger groups) are only those who have shown excellence in strategic thought; currently the High Command is pursuing a programme aimed at increasing the Union's strategic abilities to combat inefficiency within the ranks.
Assessment of Logistical Capabilities: Quite extensive. Supply depots are located both within and between Oversectors. Airlift capabilities are superior thanks to a network of closely guarded airfields outside the hive-cities of the Union; sealift capabilities are very high. In addition to military personnel, additional logistical support is often provided by Morituri, the drone-workers of the Union.

Paramilitary Groups: Sol Marii

Stated Purpose of Paramilitary Group(s): Enforcement of the interests of the Inquisition; special forces; heavy support of Union military units; [DATA REDACTED]. Note: Under orders from the Inquisition, all nonessential information about the Sol Marii has been sealed. Breach of this containment is a Class Six offense.
Small Arms Used: [DATA REDACTED]
Body Armor Used: [DATA REDACTED]
Infantry Support Weapons Used: [DATA REDACTED]
Anti-Tank/Anti-Vehicle Weapons Used: [DATA REDACTED]
Vehicles Used: [DATA REDACTED]
Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: [DATA REDACTED]
Brief Summary of Standard Doctrine: [DATA REDACTED]
Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture: The Sol Marii are known to have existed prior to the formation of the Union. Their culture is therefore necessarily very different from that of any other military unit within the Union, and they are granted their quasi-autonomous status for a variety of reasons: [DATA REDACTED]
Are the organizations primarily Offensive or Defensive?: Typically offensive, but [DATA REDACTED]
Are the organizations under a clear Military command, under clear command of the State, or mostly independent?: Under command of the Inquisition, which is itself semi-autonomous from the High Command.
Is there significant civilian support for the Paramilitary groups?: There is no reasonable distinction between civilians and noncivilians in the Union.
Personnel: [DATA REDACTED]
Combat Personnel: [DATA REDACTED]

Overall Assessment:

Are the branches of the Military united with a clear command structure for use between branches?: Yes. Branches differ only in basic purpose.
Are Strategic Decisions decided by Military or Civilian leadership?: There is no reasonable distinction between the two.
Are the branches more or less united, with open co-operation between the branches?: Yes, by necessity.
Are there any enmities between branches?: Not precisely, no. Most branches are wary of the Sol Marii to the point of fear, an entirely understandable circumstance, if one we hope to rectify through closer Inquisition-Union cooperation in future.
Is the overall Strategic Doctrine Defensive or Offensive?: Varies. The Strategic Forces are both defensive and offensive in outlook, the former more often than the latter. The Expansion Forces and RRF are purely offensive, and the Sol Marii often so; the Home Guard is purely defensive.
Approximate military budget: estimated at about $██ trillion per annum
Nuclear Option?: The Union has an extensive nuclear arsenal.
How many?: [DATA REDACTED]
Via Submarine?: Yes
Via Strategic Bomber?: Yes
Via land-based ICBM?: Yes
Via land-based TBM?: Yes
Via any other means?: Without going into sufficient detail to result in censorship: the nuclear option is available to officers from the ████████ level upwards (ground and air units) and to commanders of heavier surface combatants and submarines.

[OOC: Note - I actually wrote out a whole thing, but it's much more in-character to have lots of [DATA REDACTED]s all over the place; and while some basic spying could find out everything actually written out in the post, most of what's been censored would require infiltration -- some of it being infiltration of the Inquisition, which will have to be RPed. Most of the information withheld is not that important to an overall picture, as well (and when the censorship is in the form of █s ballpark numbers or whatever is easly picked up).

EDIT: Probably underestimated division count. Blame inexperience.]

Hey Marsh, its me again, rebuilt social structure of Estusia. Check it out.

Named equipment is of comparable qualities to domestic equipments

Name of Nation: The Empire of Estusia

Military Branches and Roles: Warrior Caste acts as elite body of the armed forces, operates armoured vehicles and combat aircraft and provides militia with guidance, training and command.
Regular Ground Forces: Warrior Caste
Small Arms Used: SCAR and varients, FN Five-seveN sidearms, GPMGs, [generic sniper rifle]
Body Armor Used: Modular system based around a sweat wicking bodyglove that can go up to full body IIIA and torso IV protection, using shear thickening fluid treated spider silk and tungsten disulphide hard plates to bring weight down to 13kg. Can be tailored to suit mission needs.
Infantry Support Weapons Used: M2 Browning HMGs
Anti-Tank/Anti-Vehicle Weapons Used: RPG-29s, Carl Gustavs, [generic disposable launcher]
APCs/IFVs Used: BMP-64 heavy IFVs, BMP-3 light IFVs.
Tanks Used: Leopard 2 A6s
Artillery Used: [Generic 155mm], MLRS, [Generic 280mm nuclear capable artillery]
Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:

Estusian society is a collection of clans in specific castes fulfilling specific roles, such as Trader, Priest, Educator and more recently Sciencenator castes. Although traditionally clansmen stick to the caste of their clan, occupational mobility between clan and caste is greater and clans increasingly find their members in occupational castes different to the clan caste.

The might of the Estusian military have long been from its Warrior Caste, comprising of some 13% of its population on the last census. It is a caste that existed since the dawn of man, and is a caste that is unique in Estusia of now for having near all of its clansmen enter the caste as well as have clansmen of other castes join in. Many of the Warrior Clans run military schools, all of which are monitored loosely by the Imperial Court and given a fair degree of autonomy as long as their teachings adhere to the regulations set by the Imperial Court.

Although teaching materials vary from school to school, the academies teach very similar things. Sons and daughters of warrior clans typically join as soon as they reach school age, while members of non warrior clans typically join after tertiary education in their caste's trade. From the age of 6 onwards in addition to education from a son or daughter's relatives, he/she is rigorously drilled in physical fitness, martial arts and discipline as well as educated in mathematics, language, science, geography and all that is taught in non warrior schools. Weapons training with the bow, sling, dart, short and long staff, the knife and the traditional Estusian scimitar begins at the age of 12 as does skills such as bushcraft, navigation and small unit tactics. Bayonet and firearms training begins at the age of 15. At the age of 16 the youth spends one year rotating through positions in the ground and air forces, then spends another year training to be a specialist. Youths from nonwarrior clans often join at ages of around 20 years old, and go under a similar training process without the math and academic subjects that the trainee have already learned outside of military school, and typically graduate by the age of 25. These outsiders do have a slight negative stigma around them, but the armed forces readily and willingly acknowledge their ability as on par with those from warrior clans.

It is said that Jarikatsi [warrior] youth can kill a tiger with his bare hands. While that is often an exhaggeration, it is true that a graduate from a Warrior school will have no trouble disemboweling half a dozen grown and armed men with nothing but a knife, shoot a beer can off a speeding car at 300 paces and navigate through kilometers of haphazard terrain over days with minimal equipment finding food and water along the way. Their ancestors were born for the sole purpose of defending their nation and they are born to defend their nation as did their fathers and fathers before them, and boy are they ready to do exactly that.

Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine:

Estusian doctrine on the offense calls for continuous low intensity reshuffling of troops behind the front lines in seemingly random spurts to avoid enemy satellites or ground based sensors to be able to discern which movements are deployments and which are only decoys. These periods of unit reshuffling are also windows for Estusia's scouts, legendary for their stealth and speed, to probe the enemy for weak points along their line. Opportunites to infiltrate enemy lines are taken. After as much preparation as possible, probably undergoing numerous minor skirmishes to buy time for more preparation, the entire force will strike simutaneously with overwhelming force at all weak points, with any infiltrated unit doing their part as well behind enemy lines.

On the defense, doctrine calls for a defence in depth to draw the enemy in, exposing their flanks and rears to ambushes. Air supriority is again important, maintained by deterents in the form of hidden SAM sites, road mobile SAMs and fast interceptors. Militia and army can easily infiltrate to enemy rear to wreak 7 kinds of hell where the enemy least expects and leave then restless and exhausted. Again, skirmishes and delaying actions such as the liberal use of snipers (every member of the warrior caste is a sniper as part of their training), minefields and booby traps are used to buy time and funnel enemy formations into huge, elaborate killzones pretargeted by artillery and saturated with pillboxes, bunkers, mines, trenches and tank traps with tunnels interconnecting hidden positions to launch surprise attacks from.

In combat, tactics dictate the use of Estusia's quality to the greatest advantage, either engaging at extreme ranges to exploit their soldiers' exceptional accuracy or engaging at literally bayonet point to nullify any advantages the enemy might hold in armour or artillery. MANPADs at company level as well as heavy machine guns and in limited effectiveness small arms with armour piercing ammunition are used to deter low flying aircraft from calling strikes on friendlies while using Estusian air forces to maintain air supriority. Air supriority or supremacy is attempted by the use of deep strike teams and infiltrated units destroying air bases before any conflict begins.

Outside of direct combat, Estusia has a highly developed electronic warfare and espionage network. Estusia has sleeper agents quite literally everywhere, lying dormant for nearly whole lifetimes before being activated. These sleepers exist at many levels in other nation's governments, militaries and economies. In addition to EW centers within Estusia itself, sleepers overseas with access to other government's computers can also be activated to use other nation's EW assets against a target country. Espionage, depending on the target country's counterintelligence ability, can do anything from severely delaying logistics, interrupting communications and causing general small scale mayhems to bringing an entire country's economy to its knees.

Brief Summary of Military Culture:
Moral and spirit is insanely high. The warrior caste are born for warriorhood. Those who join the warrior caste wish to attain warriorhood. The militia and the populace look up to the warrior caste, admire and aspire to warriorhood. The way of the warrior is a sacred and honorable one. They are respected as doctors or clergymen might be respected from other countries.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities):
Analytical, critical, logical and quick thinking as well as the importance of decisive action is trained from a young age in military schools. Officers are more than capable of thinking on their feet and taking advantage of the current situation to further Estusian victory.
Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities):
Good knowledge of Estusian and foreign history, including military history, allow Estusian Command to make well informed and well judged decisions. This in addition to large banks of supercomputers and simulations let Estusian Command react quickly and readily to rapidly changing strategic conditions.
Assessment of Logistical Capabilities:
Logistics on the defense is excellent, supplied by truck and plane. The populace is happy to provide whatever logistics troops cannot supply. On the offense logistics relies mainly on cargo planes and allies. On both offense and defence, small units of troops peeled off for patrols or pickets can find their own food and water, reducing their logistics footprint.
Personnel: 29 million
Combat Personnel: 29 million (logistics troops are also combat troops. Logistics are also supported by militias.)

Air Forces

Fighter Aircraft Used: F35s, F22s
Strategic Bombers Used: B1s and B2s
Ground Attack Aircraft Used (Incl. Gunships and Attack Helicopters): A10s, Apache Longbows
Air Transport Used: C130s, C5s, C-17s, Chinooks
Number of Aircraft: 23,000 of which 11,160 are fighters
Personnel: 5 million. Nonspecialist staff (majority of maintainence crew) is supplied by militia.

Naval Forces
Estusia being landlocked has no surface ships. Canals and springwater rivers are defended by artillery emplacements, bunkers and lol RPG spam. Small speedboats for patrol, interdiction and infiltration are employed.

A classified number of nuclear powered and armed boomers as well as fast attack subs are maintained.

Paramilitary Groups

The Imperial Arm, various militias maintained by various clans
Stated Purpose of Paramilitary Group(s): Defence of Estusia's territories and honor (which could entail the assault of another country to reclaim Estusia's honor), assistance of the Warrior Caste.
Small Arms Used: Varies, richer militias have better equipment in general. Typically surplus arms or outdated models. The Imperial Arm is more standardised, following equipment of the main armed forces.
Body Armor Used: Varies from none for the poorer militias to old flak jackets to vests with ceramic inserts for richer militias and the Imperial Arm.
Infantry Support Weapons Used: Varies.
Anti-Tank/Anti-Vehicle Weapons Used: Varies. Mostly surplus stock or cheap old RPG7s and RPG2s and Panzerfausts. Imperial Arm has modern RPGs.
Vehicles Used: Varies. Imperial Arm uses same vehicles as regular forces. Militias make their own technicals or use surplus or outdated vehicles.
Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:
Almost all clans organise voluntary militias, all of which have mostly enthusiastic recruits. Some militias are clan funded while some are self funded. The Imperial Arm is organised by the Imperial Court and is funded by the state. Training typically involves 30 weekends, and 4 whole-week excercises (one during each season). Militia do 2 days of duty and a weekend of training every 3 months. All militia is grouped under Imperial Arm command.
Brief Summary of Standard Doctrine:
Same as that of regular forces but with more conservative actions to adjust for inferior quality of troops.
Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture:
Warriorhood seen as honorable and respectable career. Populace support is high.
Are the organizations primarily Offensive or Defensive?: Both
Are the organizations under a clear Military command, under clear command of the State, or mostly independent?: Clear command of the state, which in some ways is the military.
Is there significant civilian support for the Paramilitary groups?: Hell yes.
Personnel: 200 million
Combat Personnel: 200 million (militia supplies itself)

Overall Assessment:
The might of the Emperor is ready to defend its country and its honor. The troops are eager and feverent, possessed by the ferocity of badgers, the speed and stealth of vipers and the cunning of foxes. Anyone and anything that dares insult Estusia is foolish to do so and will be given the gift of a mercy killing. Pity those that insult Estusia for having been fed paint chips as a child.

Are the branches of the Military united with a clear command structure for use between branches?: Yes
Are Strategic Decisions decided by Military or Civilian leadership?: Military
Are the branches more or less united, with open co-operation between the branches?: Yes
Are there any enmities between branches?: Clans have friendly rivalries between each other, competing to produce the best warriors. While this is beneficial in most cases sometimes it turns hostile. The Imperial Court is quick to arbitrate any such disputes. Disputes quickly settle, because all clans value the honor of the nation above their own.
Is the overall Strategic Doctrine Defensive or Offensive?: Swings both ways
Nuclear Option?: Yes
How many?: Classified
Via Submarine?: Yes
Via Strategic Bomber?: Yes
Via land-based ICBM?: Yes
Via land-based TBM?: Yes

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:
The Army training focuses not only on traditional military skills but also on its strong morale. As its men and women come from different provinces, often times with different aspects of the Harukian culture, this is a widely accepted solution to strengthen them enough to work as a team. Consequently, training is often described as not only physically challenging, but also extremely stressful psychologically.

Military service is required for a period of four years, as a form of civil service.

Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine:
Ser Di Haruk military doctrine is based on the concepts of national independence, nuclear deterrence, and military self-sufficiency.

Brief Summary of Military Culture:
The ability to generate discussion, serious examination of self and the organization, and experimentation and application of new ideas and technologies requires officers to have intellectual rigor and critical thinking. Such training is encourage and taught within the Harukian Military Recruit Training Centers, and if an officer, the Advanced Acadamy's, to develop these capacities through an educational system that teaches how to think and not what to think. Diversity in opinions is encouraged and not simply tolerated. The officers and soldiering legionnaires are expected to reflect upon their training, and in such a way raise the culture of the military they serve.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities):
All Officer Legionnaires are trained to be qualified in the field to perform such actions as destruction of objectives behind enemy lines, capture of enemy officers for interrogation, gathering citizens for evacuation, reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, Close Quarters Urban and Non-Urban Combat, Communcations. Most if not all officers also recieve secondary training so as to be effective within assigned units and or companies, and to aid the legionnaires under their direct command.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities) Legionary Officers are tasked with maintaining the order of combat, the lines of communication between themselves and command elements as well as maintaining the morale of the legionary assigned to them. Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:
Training is conducted both at the independent unit level and jointly. Training encompasses direct action, reconnaissance, civil unrest, and counter-terrorism. Because of the terrain of Ser Di Haruk, alpenism, sabotage, deep enemy line infiltration, and recon are also considered basic training for the Territorial Guard legionary. Effectively, when recruited, generally those just leaving the primary Army service, training is sixteen months in which a reiteration of the basics if experienced, is taught. Territorial Guard legionary are considered para-military but are on duty as active researve members of the regular army.

Brief Summary of Standard Doctrine:
With the passing of the National Defense Law of 1969, Ser Di Haruk adopted a total war military doctrine named Total National Defense or Total People's Defense (TPD). It was inspired by the Harukian Liberation War against the fascist occupators and their collaborators in the Coalition War, and was designed to allow Ser Di Haruk to maintain or eventually reestablish its independent and non-aligned status should an invasion occur. According to it, any citizen who resists an aggressor is a member of the armed forces, thus the whole population could be turned into a monolithic resistance army.

Starting from the elementary school education, over high schools, universities, organizations and companies, the authorities prepared the entire population to contest an eventual occupation of the country and finally to liberate it. For this purpose, the Territorial Gurard (TG) would be formed to mobilize the population in case of an aggression. The combat readiness of the TG meant that the steps of organization and training could be bypassed after the start of hostilities. The TG would supplement the regular Army and that of the Home Guard, giving it greater defensive depth and an armed local population ready to support combat actions. Large numbers of armed civilians would increase the cost of an invasion to a potential aggressor.

The TG concept focuses on small, lightly armed infantry units fighting defensive actions on familiar local terrain. A typical unit is a company-sized detachment. More than 2000 communes, factories, and other enterprises organize such units, which could fight in their home areas, maintaining local defense production essential to the overall war effort. The TG also included some larger, more heavily equipped units with wider operational responsibilities.

The TG battalions and regiments operate in regional areas with artillery and antiaircraft guns and some armoured vehicles. Using their mobility and tactical initiative, these units could attempt to alleviate the pressure of enemy armored columns and air strikes on smaller TG units. In the coastal regions, TG units have naval missions. They operate some gunboats in support of navy operations. They are organized to defend strategic coastal areas and naval facilities against enemy amphibious landings and raids. They also field divers for use in sabotage and other special operations.

The TG is helped by the fact that most of its citizen-soldiers were one-time Army conscripts who had completed their term of compulsory military service. TG recruitment is somewhat limited by the Army desires to include as many recently released conscripts as possible in its own military reserve.

Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture: The Territorial Guard exists to serve the people of Ser Di Haruk, and will do so to the best of it's abilities by whatever means. For the people, by the people, for the nation.

Are the organizations primarily Offensive or Defensive?: Defnesive

Are the organizations under a clear Military command, under clear command of the State, or mostly independent?: Under the command of the Military Junta and if they are not able to be communicated with, local provisional leaders.

Is there significant civilian support for the Paramilitary groups? Yes.
Personnel: 22.6 Million
Combat Personnel: 7.3 Million

Overall Assessment: The Territorial Guard has extensive roots within the population, but it is not meant for offensive action beyond it's borders. It's key to survivability and power is the terrain and the people of Ser Di Haruk. The regular Army, Airforce, and Navy are of a mixed approach. They are more then usually defensive in nature, a reactionary approach to any and all probings or assaults made by enemy forces. Offensive strikes are taken with caution, so as not to be feinted or flanked by larger forces. Generally the military will utilize it's defensive plannings in which case an enemy may see this as weakness only to sorely learn otherwise.

Are the branches of the Military united with a clear command structure for use between branches?: Yes. Communication and Order is one of the hallmarks of training at it's earliest stage and this is built upon even to the higher levels of the military.

Are Strategic Decisions decided by Military or Civilian leadership?: Both. The Junta and the Civilian leadership work hand in hand to promote the best strategic design for military forces.

Are the branches more or less united, with open co-operation between the branches?: Again, at the earliest of training, this symbiotic approach is heavily encouraged and instructed. It permeates the entirety of the Ser Di Haruk military services.

Are there any enmities between branches?: Minor, but not at a level that would infringe upon combat ability.

Is the overall Strategic Doctrine Defensive or Offensive?: Defensive

Nuclear Option?: Yes.

How many?: 130

Via Submarine?: We have several submarines capable of launching sea-borne ICBM's.

Via Strategic Bomber?: Several strategic bomber craft have been made available by the Airforce.

Via land-based ICBM?: No.

Via land-based TBM?: Yes. Mobile land units do exist, most of which we purchased from Haruspex International Armaments.

Level VI
Ser Di Haruk has a military of significance that suffers from several flaws that prevent it from reaching anything resembling their true potential. Their Army is large and well-trained; while the cumulative effect of of Marshite training places them at a higher level, Ser Di Haruk has a well trained army. The equipment is of high-class, though of slightly lower standards to Marshites. However, what really harms them is a lower logistics rate than other armies, meaning that their large, well trained army is likely to have a harder time keeping up the fight, Still, all things considered, the Marshite and Harukian armies are equal with the advantage going to whomever is on the defensive.
On the high seas, the Harukian navy does not pose a threat beyond the paper. They are critically understaffed, meaning that they are weaker than they appear. In the air, their fine air force is yet again saddled by crippling understaffment issues. In both areas, they lack the ability to fight beyond their means and M-SAD believes, therefore, that the Marshite Navy and Air Force is superior to their counterparts.
The territorial guard is competent, but considering that M-SAD already believes that the advantage would be with the Harukians on the defensive anyway, they factor little.
In the end, it is one of many such reports where M-SAD believes a war on the offensive would require multiple generations to pay off and result in devastating casualties. Victory, due to certain factors in Marshite favor, is possible. However, losses would be crushingly high. On the defensive however, the Harukians appear unable to truly stand as they would wish, and a defensive war is won in all certainty by the Marshite Armed Forces.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:Most grunts come straight out of high school due to our recruitment in schools. Regular troops go through a 7 month training program unless a major war is raging then they are giving 4 months of training and push to the front. They will go through gruling test that will make most insane by the end of the trainning, but it has formed a high quality bonnafulian soldier. For the final exam to pass the rankers will have to run a 8 mile jog, a 4 day isolation period where the soldier must work together with out the drill sergeants. Once they are done they will be put tot he extremes of every eviorment and will have to shoot a 9/10 on a shooting range. Once the shooting range is done they will take a written exam over topic learned in training. Once the basic trainning is over then the drill sergeants get to gether and chose the recurits that stood out in leadership, military skill, intelligence and ruthlessness and have that slected group go through more detailed trainning.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment of NCOs: They are enlisted as normal rankers till training is over and senior military staff chose the top recruits to take an extra 4 months of training for leadership and management and military history. The training will also include more educational material then physical strength test. The final exam will be a 20 mile job to a campsite where they will be left alone for a week with little supplies. Their objectives will be planning how to use their military knowledge to best use for capture a *city* that is ran by drill sergeants.
Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine:Have officers pick apart the enemy defense while infiltration units are sent to destroy the enemy strong points. Once strong points are destroyed start diversity attacks on enemy front line while gathering force for multiple amour spear heads to attack weak points while staying as close to the enemy as possible to advoid major airstrikes.
Defense
Inflict massive deaths on the attacking side while conducting insurgency programs behind enemy frontlines. Then fall back behind natural obstacles(moutains, rivers, Woods) while leaving explosives behind to hurt the enemy advance. Do this as many times till reserves are brought up to counter attack.
Brief Summary of Military Culture:After a large scale poll showed that most of the population did not support the military; the top staff decided to use the vast resources that they had. Now speeches by old vets are common in small to medium towns while in big cities normal soldiers try to gain support or pity for them. The government is now downplaying the negatives to joining the military and disbanded most of the death squads from the old government. After the new Doge came into power he made the military into a shinning example of how a normal bonnafulian male or female citizen can be transform into a efficent hard working person. In other words the public still has occasion bad thoughs about the military, but they are being converted over to supporting. Then the grunts go through basic trainning and become a zealous and brave soldier who would follow his/her orders till death.
Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities):They will fight with soldiers on the frontline and will command them from there. They will also stay behind frontlines to meet and discuss weak points behind enemy lines that can be exploited. Will order troops with clear instructions and will not back down from a fight if tempted. Them being on the front lines with troops provides a massive moral boost to troops who see them fighting with them
Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities)They will fight with soldiers on the frontline and will command them from there. They will also stay behind frontlines to meet and discuss weak points behind enemy lines that can be exploited. Will order troops with clear instructions and will not back down from a fight if tempted. Them being on the front lines with troops provides a massive moral boost to troops who see them fighting with them.

Assessment of Logistical Capabilities:After two whole divisions scumbled to stravation and repeated attacks the Bonnafulian high command ordered a complete overhaul of the Logistical system for the military. Now Logistics are handled by Logistical divisions or fleets that follow the main army/fleet. These can travel anywhere that their host army/fleet can go. If they are out of suppy a new air wing of air transports has been made for the duty of resupplying those fleets/armies at a moment notice. The fleets include oil tankers, ammuntion ships, medical ships, prison ships, and sometimes repair ships. Armies include medical divisions, repair shops, ammuntion, fuel, etc.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:Militia are the bacisc 8 year reservist and are away for 2 months out of the year at a military camp for trainning. They go through a less detailed trainning as the regular military. The police are expected to help defend most major cities and have nothing more then regular police trainning. The Pathfinders are a whole different breed of soldier comapared to the regular military. They go through a year of trainning and are put through hell. At the end a pathfinder grunt most spend a three week period with a dog or a chicken and care for it. They are to give it a name and feed it till the end of the 3 weeks. At the end of the three weeks they are to use a axe(for chicken) or a pistol(dog) to kill their pet. After they are done they will have to clean the mess up,and this is suppose to help train them to take a lfie of another human with out second thought. Once their year of trainning is over they get on the job trainning when the new rercuits are forced to hunt down rebels with out no external help.
Brief Summary of Standard Doctrine:Militia are to help defend the home land against attack while the police keep order and help boost numbers. The Pathfinders dont have a standard doctrine, but adapt to the situation.
Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture:Militia is a big help with getting a job in bonnaful if you have that as a job, and people love the milita because they are the news paper face during events to support bonnaful. The police are put to a oath to defend bonnaful and to perserve the law at all cost. The pathfinders are a crazy bunch who live by Is est melior morior in gradu stantes recipique currens sagittis tergo
(it is better to die standing your ground then running and getting shot in the back.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment:
Red Tidean enlisted is largely made up of men and woman conscripted as required to meet the Red Tidean manpower needs. Once conscripted, a Red Tidean trooper spends three months in basic training before being assigned to a active duty unit. A Red Tidean enlisted individual normally serves for three years before returning to civilian life. The induction and release of soldiers happens bi-annually, in January and June, but a sudden 'impressment round' can be ordered in the eventuality of a sudden need of extra manpower. A soldiers standard schedule can be found here (your gonna need to scroll down).

Theoretically, Red Tidean NCOs and Officers can also be conscripted. In practice, this is rarely applied for NCO's and almost never for Officers. Normally, NCO's are enlisted who have decided to stay on past their service requirements and officers are volunteers who have decided to join out of college or a military academy.

Red Tidean troops have at least a high school education and those with more 'technical-based' jobs (such as tank crews, artillerymen, radar operators, etc) are given extensive training into the maintenance and use of their equipment, often with an extra-month of training compared to regular infantry. When compared to most none-'Spartan Way' conscript armies, Red Tidean troops have excellent training, above-average motivation, and superb discipline. Compared to professional and 'Spartan Way' armies, they are merely average in the first two and 'good' in the last.

Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine:
Red Tidean doctrine is heavily steeped in the 'Deep Operations' style perfected by the Soviet Union during the latter half of the 2nd World War. Command is centralized at the Army and Front-level. Artillery, tanks, and air power are used not too directly support infantry troops but are directed by higher level commands as a means too smash the enemy's line open or break his assault. While much effort is put into deception prior to an assault, once an offensive opens it is akin to a steamroller: massive, unsubtle, and will utterly flatten anything that doesn't get out of its way.

As far as the textbook version is concerned, attacks are initiated as soon as the formations required are ready too move and shock army's backed by independent 'breakthrough' artillery brigades unleash punishing artillery barrages rapidly followed by assault waves of mechanized-infantry and tanks, operating under a cover of aircraft and a screen of air defense systems. Weak points in the enemy defense line are ideally located before the assault, but a good shock army commander knows how to look for them during an assault and will reinforce the successive waves on those weak points as needed. Once a breach has been forced, the shock army passes the news to front command and deploy their tactical maneuver reserves (usually a tank division) into the immediate enemy rear (ie: up too of 100 kilometers). The breach(es) are widened through assaults on the new enemy flanks, although frontal assaults also continue to keep the enemy pinned.

Front command, in the meantime is expected to release the operational maneuver reserve (usually a tank army) which passes through the shock army and simply runs rampant anywhere as far as 400 to 600 kilometers behind the enemy line, severing communication links, destroying/capturing supply facilities, obliterating command facility's, seizing airfields, and more to raise havoc and keep the foe off balance. More methodical, the other reserve army's (usually field army's) aid the shock army in finishing off the defensive line and conducting mop-up. Inevitably, the enemy will rally, counter-attack, and force the overstretched forward-most formations (the tank army(/ies)) back or form a new defensive line that the same formations run into. At which point the Red Tidean front(s) draw-up, establish a new line, and prepare too do it all over again.

On the defensive, Red Tide practices a defense-in-depth. A textbook Red Tidean defensive line involves multiple field and shock armies in deployed in belts at least 200 kilometers deep, but often even more. Terrain is taken into account and lines are set-up on and around the features more ideal for defense. Fortifications are used too break-up, slow down, and/or channel the enemy advance while mobile reserves are ready to counter-attack at the appropriate moment. Frontal Aviation is applied on the enemy's line of communication to hamper the attack and challenge command of the sky, artillery offers a screen of protective fire on pre-registered targets, and air defenses work to neutralize the threats that slip by frontal aviation.

It should be noted that Red Tidean doctrine says the textbooks are to be used as guidelines, simply dogmatically obeying what the manual says are deemed as unimaginative and, worse, as incompetent.

Brief Summary of Military Culture:
In a single word: clinical. Red Tide puts rather little emphasis on most forms of tradition and sentimentality, something made abundantly clear by the complete lack of ship names amongst the naval forces . Most Red Tidean senior officers often come off as some kind of bizarre hybrid between a tabletop gamer and a scholar if such a hybrid had military discipline and procedure hammered into him or her from birth. They often possess a callous disregard for the lives of the enlisted and often make use of the phrase 'acceptable losses'. The only time they use the phrase 'unacceptable losses' is when an operation has failed.

Junior Officers are usually less detached and rather more dynamic personality-wise. While they are ultimately constrained by their higher ups, they put on human faces for their troops and are rather more cautious. Ultimately, though, they wish to advance their career, and speedily taking and holding an assigned objective is an excellent way to do that. NCO's fall between those looking to become officers and those looking to serve their country the best way they can.

The enlisted are usually just looking too do their three years and then return to civilian life. For some of them, though, the disciplined system grows on them and these are the ones who decide too stay on as NCO's after their service time is up. They always have a sense of fatalism about them, a feeling carried over from Red Tidean civilian culture, and thus obey their orders out of duty and discipline. The Red Tidean style of war puts very little emphasis on the individual or even on the 'small group'. It is through its seemingly limitless numbers of infantry, tanks, artillery, and aircraft that the Red Tidean Armed Forces are dangerous, not because the individual soldier is anything special.

As a whole, Red Tide is more then willing to engage in brutal, sustained wars.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities):
Red Tidean small-unit tactics are straightforward and unimaginative. A Red Tidean company and/or battalion commander is given his or her objective, directs his or her subordinate units towards the objective, and then monitors those units progress and deploy the support assigned to him/her by higher command as he/she thinks is needed.

Likewise, Red Tidean armored tactics operate on a 'shock assault' principle. A Red Tidean tank platoon will either advance (usually with infantry) as a whole on a enemy position to overrun and destroy it, or provide over watch on another tank/infantry formation and suppress the enemy position until it is overrun. The greatest tactical flexibility is afforded to air defense battery's, which is vital since the Red Tidean military doctrine holds that air superiority can not, and indeed should not, be an essential and thus steps should be taken to ensure that operations can effectively continue despite enemy control of the air.

In the bigger picture, Red Tidean regiments and, in turn, divisions are built for high-tempo and high speed operations. A motor-rifle divisions is expected to last 7 to 12 days in high intensity fighting before being rendered combat ineffective. Once that happens, the division is simply replaced by a fresh unit from the reserves and is put itself in the reserves where it is reinforced back to full strength before being placed at the front again.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities):
Operations and strategy is where the Red Tideans truly shine. The Red Tideans believe that an operational commander can most ably concentrate his forces where necessary so too halt an enemy attack or breakthrough an enemy line. Red Tide's immense size and population makes the country unconquerable. Even if some foreign nation were to successfully invade and take Red Tide's most industrialized and populated areas, they would most likely have crippled themselves in the process as much as they have crippled Red Tide.

Assessment of Logistical Capabilities:
The nation has vast reserves of equipment and manpower and ensures that they can use it. Most of Red Tide itself relies on railroad for most cross-country transportation, but the Red Tidean logistics services are still fully motorized with trucks and the Red Tidean Army has a department of engineers who are expected to maintain supply lines and security units from the PKI (Red Tides civilian intelligence and secret police) counteract the efforts of enemy insurgents.

Red Tidean equipment itself is largely unremarkable and conservative. That is to say they are not bad, they just aren't good either. Weapons design can be summed up with two statements: "The enemy of the 'Best' is the 'Good Enough'." And "make it simple, make it last, and make lots of it."

Personnel:
Approximately 50 million men and women, the exact number depending on yearly needs.

Combat Personnel:
Red Tide operates on a roughly 1:8 combat:logistics ratio (give-or-take a few tenths), although logistics personnel are expected to know how to be infantry if necessary. So 6.25 million men and woman, again depending on yearly needs.

Note that Red Tide has a monstrous number of reserve units, which consist of their equipment and a skeleton maintenance crew. Replacement equipment for battle losses is often drawn from these reserve units and Red Tide has enough to equipment too expand the ground forces to eight times its current size. These formations skeleton maintenance crews are not counted amongst total personnel.

Air Forces

Fighter Aircraft Used: Su-37 multi-role, Su-51 PAK-FA air superiority, MiG-31 Interceptor, H/K-2 Naval Multi-Role
Strategic Bombers Used: NIA-04 Maritime Interdiction Aircraft, Tu-160 Strategic Bombers
Ground Attack Aircraft Used (Incl. Gunships and Attack Helicopters): H/K-1 VTOL close air support craft, MiG-27 tactical bombers, Mi-35 and -28 Attack Helicopters, TC-2 Transport or Anti-Submarine Helicopters
Air Transport Used: An-12, Il-76, An-124, An-224
Number of Aircraft: Approx 105,000 aircraft
Personnel: 7-10 million, again depending on yearly needs.

Like the Army, Red Tide's Frontal Aviation maintains skeleton formations which consist of just the aircraft and a small maintenance crew. Like the Red Tidean Army, replacement equipment is drawn from these and the formations can be filled too full manpower strength if the need arises.

The Red Tidean National Defense Branch also has its own air fleet of pre-dominantly air superiority fighters, interceptors, and airborne RADAR craft. The personnel and aircraft count for the National Defense Branch are not included.

Naval Forces

Number of Frigates: 851
Number of Destroyers: 380
Number of Cruisers: 300
Number of Aircraft Carriers: 20
Number of Amphibious Assault Ships: 31
Number of Submarines: 126
Personnel: Around five million.

Additional Note: The Red Tidean National Defense Branch operates an armada of small 'brown-water' craft like corvettes and missile boats, as well as patrol craft and diesel submarines which operate along side land-based anti-ship missile and air defense systems too provide for Red Tidean coastal defenses. Note that the personnel count for the Red Tidean National Defense Branch is not included.

Because of the unique disposition inherent in naval equipment, the Red Tidean Naval Forces do not have skeleton reserve formations. They do, however, have the ability to requisition vessels from the significant government merchant fleet, which is normally leased out to Red Tidean corporations. The design of these ships allow them to be temporarily seized and, with only a day or two modification, turned into improvised military transport ships with the necessary landing craft to bring the equipment from ship to shore without a port.

Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture: Data not available.
Are the organizations primarily Offensive or Defensive?:
Interior Ministry: Defensive
PKI: Offensive and Defensive
Military Intelligence: Offensive
Are the organizations under a clear Military command, under clear command of the State, or mostly independent?: Interior Ministry troops and the PKI are somewhat independent, but otherwise under command of the State. Military Intelligence obviously answers to the military.
Is there significant civilian support for the Paramilitary groups?: No, but there is no sense of loathing either.
Personnel: Full data not available, estimated to be in the hundreds of millions.
Combat Personnel: Classified.

Overall Assessment:
Are the branches of the Military united with a clear command structure for use between branches?: Yes.
Are Strategic Decisions decided by Military or Civilian leadership?: The civilian leadership. Operational decisions are largely planned in accordance with operational commanders AND the General Staff.
Are the branches more or less united, with open co-operation between the branches?: In the case of the military, yes.
Are there any enmities between branches?: All Red Tidean Government institutions spy on each other to one degree or another. Only in the specific three cases of the Interior Ministry, the PKI, and the Military is the spying supposed to go beyond the politicking that happens with the various heads of these organizations and into the security of the nation. There is an unspoken agreement not to let any any such politicking infringe on the effectiveness of the various organizations.
Is the overall Strategic Doctrine Defensive or Offensive?: Offensive.
Nuclear Option?: Red Tide operates a 'no-first use' on nuclear weapons. More detailed description of Red Tidean nuclear doctrine (along with chemical and bio-weapons) can be found here.
How many?: Classified, but acknowledged to be a MINIMUM of a hundred thousand warheads.
Via Submarine?: Yes, Red Tide has 13 ballistic missile submarines and 32 more submarines that can carry a significant payload of cruise missiles, including ones with nuclear warheads.
Via Strategic Bomber?: Yes.
Via land-based ICBM?: Yes. Red Tidean ICBM's utilize FOBS and thus have literally unlimited range.
Via land-based TBM?: Yes.
Other methods?: Heavy artillery guns, tactical aircraft, and cruise missiles.

All information on publicly available Red Tidean (custom) equipment can be found here.

Note that all RL equipment have been upgraded with more Red Tidean standard equipment, weapons, and sensors.

The Red Tidean Union or The Union of Red Tide or the RTU or Red Tide. NOT Red Tide2.
Red Tide is an oligarchy, with the ruling body known as the 'Central Institution'. The Director of the Central Institute changes constantly. It follows no political ideology, so stop mistaking it for a communist state, thank you very much.

Anemos Major, on my nations name wrote:Oh boy, I can imagine being invaded by your nation.
"The Red Tide washes over us once again. But why?"
"It's that time of the month again."
Thank you, I'll be here all week. Try the veal.

OOC: Thanks.:P I like your info.

Level V
The Oceanian Home Country of Novikov features a competent military. However, it does not pose a unique danger to the Marshite Church. While not poorly trained, even the most well trained- Category I- members of the NOK are not trained to anywhere near the level of Marshite forces. The NOK has undergone some modernization of their armed forces and some additions have perked our interest, such as the Lyran and Lamoni weapons, but on the whole, Marshite forces still enjoy a healthy edge in the battle of equipment. Numbers wise, Marshites again enjoy a large edge. Logistically, NOK lags behind on the offensive, but has impressive internal capabilities that in war would come into play.
In the Air, the HMAF still enjoys an advantage in numbers, training, and equipment. However, with the opposing air force having acquired some Lyran designs, the advantage has narrowed and the domination of the HMAF is more due to the training of pilots. In the end however, The Oceanian Home Country of Novikov's air force can put up a brutal fight that would slow offensive operations for several weeks.
The same is true on the high seas. The HMN holds a qualitative and quantative advantage over the FNOK, but neither advantage is so decisive that Marshite victory would be short.
Of the non-standard military forces, neither of the standing organized forces are a concern. The possible numbers of the NNO are a concern, but their complete lack of training, the fact that stockpiles only exist to support a fraction of their possible numbers, and their extremely poorly armed nature means they pose much less of a concern than they may have initially. When coupled with the fact that they are not an organized outfit and therefore would not come into play for some time, and M-SAD believes that their impact is small in the war phase.
So with all this, why a V and not lower?
On the offensive, Novikov could not hold ground in Holy Marsh. The Marshite military is not only superior, but the Marshite Militia is extremely skilled and well armed.
On the defensive, however, things are different. A tough air and sea battle is expected and while M-SAD expects Marshite victories, they are not quick. Once the battle reaches the ground, M-SAD believes that the NNO will have some degree of mobilization. The fight will be bloody, but M-SAD believes that the advantages that the Marshite forces enjoy are crucial and victory is a matter of time and blood- oceans of it.
In final analysis, the Oceanian Home Country of Novikov features a military of importance and skill that is not to be taken light under any circumstance when it is fighting on home soil.

Level II
The Free Territory of Vorond does not field a military that is of concern on the offensive and is outclassed quite terribly defensively. The vastness of Marshite training compounds an already devastating and overwhelming advantage in battlefield technology. When coupled with the sheer size of the Marshite Army, then on the ground, there is little issue. The focus in guerrilla operations by the Vorondian Army would cause issues for smaller militaries or liberal democracies, but poses little to no threat against Marshite forces. With no real strategic capabilities to speak of, any ground conflict is already over. In the air, Marshites yet again a devastating advantage in technology, numbers, and training. The same holds true of the Naval forces, to be complimented by a very slight understaffment issue.
The force of guerrillas who have come from across the world is almost a non-issue. Their offensive doctrine is useless against the Marshite Church, and since they come from a wide range of backgrounds, unity is not expected. Coupled with poor, almost non-existing weapon systems, and the guerrilla movement from within Vorond is an utter non-issue.
In the end, M-SAD believes victory is completely certain against the Free Territory. They do not pose a threat to the Marshite Church and are only capable of any competent defenses in strikes that will not actually impede Marshite progress. They are a Level II and not a Level I due to the time it would take to ultimately subdue them and nothing else.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: New Edomite troops are recruited from among those who are willing to serve. It is considered an honor to be in the military. Most people of Baran, Elwe, Haranese and Dawarf Cultures have a warrior caste which consists of commoners and aristocrats, and these are trained from an early age to have a sense of martial duty. Most are not trained in any organized tactics however until they begin to come of age in early adolescence. Because New Edomite sports tend to be violent and intensely competitive, and because especially in rural communities there is little to do in the way of visual entertainment, they come mostly hard and fit and ready for boot camp. Most New Edomites still do a fair bit of physical labour.

Boot camp is thus less about conditioning of the troops though there is a weeding out process of two weeks. Mostly it is about familiarization with military grade weaponry, unit training and field tactics. Due to the last 15 years or so of civil war the average soldier is trained in a ‘rifleman first’ policy. Nevertheless there is a serious degree of difference between being capable of taking to the field if necessary and being rigorously and regularly trained in infantry, armor and airborne tactics.

Regular training exercises take place, including cross training with KADO and other allied nations in order to keep troops from becoming complacent. The staff college regularly reviews new developments in tactics and technology and experiments with them.

Brief Summary of Standard Military Doctrine: New Edomite military doctrine has till recently been focused on dealing with insurgency from the Elwe and defense against the aggressive nations of Cookish States, Tehraani and other local Xanadou nations. There has been little real need for projection abroad save to the Protectorates of Etruria Majora and Gloria Regis. Recently President Touchstone has been developing stronger military alliances in order to protect the nation against future aggression.

Standard military doctrine also requires for New Edomite leaders to push for enemy weaknesses, aggressively probing them, and pouring reserves into area of weakness. Withdrawals are supposed to be fight and regroup.

Brief Summary of Military Culture: The military culture is based on the ancient Baran and Haranese warrior aristocracy; honor, friendliness between comrades and courage are highly valued. Personal honor and responsibility are emphasized heavily. New Edom uses a regimental system and so officers up to the rank of colonel and NCOs up to sergeant-major rarely move from unit to unit. A sense of religion as well as patriotic duty also affects the soldiers.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Tactical Capabilities): New Edomite officers currently are those who survived the civil wars and were recruited immediately after it. They are for the most part veterans. Those who are not are about 1:5 in ratio of new officer to veteran at the moment. Those coming up from the Military Academies are being trained by experienced officers. A general reassessment of military capabilities under the Defense Ministries of Admiral Charles Rand and later John Crowl have required that officers who are shown to be unfit during military exercises designed to strain minds and bodies are booted out.

Assessment of Officer Corps (Strategic Capabilities): Currently the New Edomite officer corps is led by generals and admirals who have considerable military experience, and is blessed by having several (Nicanor, Augrim, Shalmaneser, Galt, etc) who are very flexible as well.

Assessment of Logistical Capabilities: A great concern by the new Ministers of Defense under the Presidency of Touchstone has been logistics and supply generally. Hard lessons learned during the civil war have borne fruit; ratio of supply to tactical units is good, with more in reserves. Care has been put towards establishing redundancy in case of unexpected attacks.

Special Operations and Elite Formations:
1. 4 Marine Infantry Divisions (specialized assault troops) which are on semi-permanent detachment to the Navy. These forces are crossed trained with Lamonian forces and are very tough, flexible infantry, mechanized infantry, armor and rotary aviation troops trained to do naval landings and assaults, hold positions and make it possible for main army forces to land.
2. The Light Troops Brigade. This is a formation of four special assault regiments and supporting combat engineers, aviation and intelligence that are basically meant to go into tough enemy terrain and raid or capture territory.
3. 1st Airborne Division. Trained for para and air assault attacks.
4. Rover Teams. These are Special Forces teams; Each of the four Rover Teams is specialized in something—COIN operations, Urban Assault, Hostage Rescue and Underwater Demolitions and Assault.
5. The Teman Rangers are a special search and rescue and long range recon Regiment with three battalions, specializing in mountain and forest operations.
6. The Armored Cavalry Regiments are the elite of the Armored Corps. They are a ‘first in, first out’ set of units, often trained to act in isolation or far behind enemy lines for special assaults. They are sometimes used to provide a larger scale Light Troops or Airborne assault.

Personnel:
Total Army: 3,158,610
Combat Personnel: 947,583
Noncombat Personnel and Reserves: 2,211,027

Air Forces

General Assessment: The New Edomite Air Force has grown enormously in the last two years. Because of this it has undergone extensive training. In addition to this the most elite units of the tactical fighters and helicopter units have been put into the navy, where they have been cross-trained with Lamonian Naval Aviation. Estovakivan, Lamonian Yohannes, Riemaian and Nalayan pilots have generally cross trained with New Edomites, including providing cadres for new fighters. Corporations providing the equipment have also been asked to provide such cadres for training in tactical, radar, electronic warfare and support systems. The general doctrine of the Air Forces is aggressive defense.

Fighter Aircraft Used: Multi Role Fighter: GM-23 Czapka, LY909 'Sparrowhawk' Light Multirole Fighter W-18 Hummingbird V/STOL multirole fighter
Air Superiority Fighter:YA42 'Corsaire' Air Superiority Fighter
Stealth Fighter: LY910 'Shadowhawk' Advanced Air Superiority Fighter
Naval Fighter: GM-24 ASF
Strategic Bombers Used: TSR-7 Condor reconnaissance bomber ,TSR-14 Teratorn penetration bomber , RM-30 San Real
Ground Attack Aircraft Used (Incl. Gunships and Attack Helicopters): RH-90 Incursor, AH-55, Eiko
Air Transport Used: C-10 'Minotaur' strategic cargo aircraft, CM-7 Coureur, TH-400 Celestial
Light Utility Helicopter: Vandal
Transport Helicopter: Naga, TH-300 Lakota
Naval Operations Helicopter: UH-26 Motherbird
Heavy Transport Helicopter: PT-32 Monster
Number of Aircraft: 3,414
Personnel: 829,920

Naval Forces:

The New Edomite Navy is a small but very well trained force. Every vessel is relatively new, within the last two years’ purchased, with corporate cadres provided to demonstrate all equipment, and with KADO and other allied exercises working out kinks with tactical and strategic use. Personnel in the New Edomite Navy tend to serve for two to three years aboard a particular ship and then are transferred. With the exception of pilots and sub-mariners surface combatant personnel tend to be given as much experience as possible aboard a variety of ships from coastal patrol craft to carriers, though at a certain point expertise begins to be rewarded with regular service aboard particular vessels.

Number of Frigates: 40
Number of Destroyers: 26
Number of Cruisers: 28
Number of Aircraft Carriers: 5
Number of Amphibious Assault Ships: 18
Number of Submarines: 18
Number of Corvettes and Patrol Vessels: 40
Personnel: 331,968

Paramilitary Groups(Note: This would cover Militias as well as special warrior groups)

Stated Purpose of Paramilitary Group(s): The Council Police is the chief intelligence, protective and national law enforcement agency of the country. It has intelligence, administrative, analyst, logistics and special assault and guard units.
It generally uses the same armor, equipment and support as the army.

Brief Summary of Training and Recruitment: The Council Police are overwhelmingly recruited by people who were sentenced to death, life imprisonment or hard labour by the Monarchist Junta. They are ingrained with fanatical support for the Touchstone government in particular. Special oaths, brutal training, subjugation to torture resistance training, indoctrination with a fanatical devotion to the Apostolic Church and to the personal devotion to those appointed its champions is part of their indoctrination.

Brief Summary of Standard Doctrine: The Council Police exist to protect and serve the state. They are trained to root out its enemies, and if need be attack them, destroy them, capture them, twist the truth out of them.

Brief Summary of Paramilitary Culture: The Council Police though it has both genders is a rather macho, tough culture, religiously devout, and close knit; they rarely mix with others outside of it.

Are the organizations primarily Offensive or Defensive?: Defensive
Are the organizations under a clear Military command, under clear command of the State, or mostly independent?: They are under the command of the Minister of Police who answers directly to the President and the Attorney-General.
Is there significant civilian support for the Paramilitary groups? The Council Police are supported by the civilian police.
Personnel: 25,000
Combat Personnel: 6,000

Overall Assessment:

Are the branches of the Military united with a clear command structure for use between branches?: Yes!
Are Strategic Decisions decided by Military or Civilian leadership?:
Are the branches more or less united, with open co-operation between the branches?: Yes
Are there any enmities between branches?: No
