Stoklomolvi Wire Service

The Stoklomolvi Wire Service is a state-run news agency based in the Stoklomolvi Communist Federation that provides news coverage to some six billion people. It is largely an on-line service, though there is a print version of all articles available at government distribution centres. Objectivity is dubious, as many articles published by the SWS can be termed biased or at least somewhat favourable towards one side, whether that side be the Stoklomolvi government or a communist faction abroad; the Communist Party of Stoklomolvi has begun taking measures against such subjectivity in the media. The SWS is the only news agency in Stoklomolvi and is under the direct administration of the State Council.

In total, the SWS employs some 122,000 people total, and maintains 89 bureaus in Stoklomolvi; there is one bureau in each administrative capital, and there are three separate reporting bureaus: military, CPS, and intelligence. All funding of the SWS is provided by the state.

[News from the Stoklomolvi Communist Federation may be found here. Do not post any OOC without an IC accompaniment or a response to another IC in this thread. In other words, only post comments, and responses to comments. One-liners and separate conversations not welcome.

Thank you.]

Fascism banned again in Stoklomolvi
Applause resounds throughout the country
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

VLADISTOV, STOKLOMOLVI - A referendum conducted electronically on-line via the Stoklomolvi internal public connection system, commonly known as the "Domestic Internet," revealed that nearly 99% of all Stoklomolvi citizens were clamouring for the banning of fascist symbols, ideas, and rhetoric from Stoklomolvi. In compliance with the wishes of the people, the Stoklomolvi government firmly evicted fascism from the country, shutting down domestic fascist websites and censoring foreign-based fascist websites. Fascist literature that praised fascism was burnt, and books that documented historical fascist leaders such as infamous dictator Tom Litler of the Stoklomolvi Third Fascist Faction were altered to portray the fascist rulers in a more negative tone. It was a step above burning the books, which was demanded for by 84% of the people.

While critics, most of them fascists themselves, declared that the possibility of Stoklomolvi citizens not voting could have contributed to the very low margin between those who supported the ban and those who did not, every Stoklomolvi citizen is provided with a free personal processing and internal public connection system access device, commonly called a "computer." Mandatory voting is enforced, and the voting was clear: fascism is not welcome in Stoklomolvi.

Domestic persecution of Christianity leads to riot
KGB officers deployed to deal with threat
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

QINGDAO, STOKLOMOLVI - After repeated threats made by the "Godly Nations" to wipe the existence of Stoklomolvi off the earth, however ludicrous they may have been, the Christian population of Stoklomolvi, in total numbering fewer than ten million, has been persecuted to the point of fleeing their communities for more tolerant areas. Many have even deconverted in order to save face and flee the increasing discrimination. Those who remain faithful to their religious beliefs have not resisted, knowing that it was because of crusader militant Christian countries that they were being attacked.

After the Commissariat for State Security [KGB] was deployed to the city of Qingdao to stop the riot there, some seven thousand people were wounded or killed in the ensuing shoot-out between unlawful combatants and police forces. Most of the casualties were either Christians or random civilians, with a number being from the KGB; the deaths were Christians. KGB armoured support vehicles were deployed to keep order.

Fascists massacred in Vladistov
Following a government decree, resistance from fascists leads to mass execution
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

VLADISTOV, STOKLOMOLVI - Paranoia amongst Stoklomolvi citizens has lead to ostracism and discrimination against people who believe in a fascist ideology, and rioting broke out in Vladistov, Port Stoklomolvi, and Guangzhou, often many times in the same day or even hour. What is known is that a small skirmish between gun-wielding fascists and anti-fascists in Vladistov exploded into a full battle, with heavy machine guns and armoured vehicles being used in the ensuing conflict. The Commissariat for State Security [KGB] was again called to the scene, where they were fired upon. In response, the KGB used full force and crushed the fascists, completely depleting them of morale and all will to fight. Those who remained after the massacre were arrested.

Slated for execution within a week, the remaining seventy thousand fascists in Stoklomolvi lie in government control. Hurled into detention camps and temporary holding facilities, execution sites were prepared in the outskirts of Vladistov, where the fascists would be shot.

Small contingents of infantry mobilised
Conflict in the German Region leads to increase of threat level
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

VLADISTOV, STOKLOMOLVI - With the threat posed by the German Region to its former comrades in Austronia, in addition to the cutting off of supplies through Trieste due to the collapse of the Italian government and the subsequent seizure of Trieste by an independent clique, the Stoklomolvi 9th Shock Division was forced to plough through German territory to reach a port on the other side of the continent. Hamburg would be the most likely destination, and the 17th, 18th, and 55th Infantry Divisions have been deployed to the region to help ferry the troops home. In addition, the 23rd, 24th, 25th, and 26th Interceptor Squadrons have been attached to the 13th Navy to the area.

While contact to the 9th Shock Division has been all but lost following the destruction of the Stoklomolvi command fortress outside Trieste by Italian renegades, the Stoklomolvi government has hoped that the 9th has not performed "any overly stupid actions, such as move on its own accord to attack the German Region." Thus moves the Stoklomolvi military, in total a relatively small section of the Stoklomolvi military amounting to around nine million soldiers has left the motherland to rescue the stranded 9th.

Government officially bans Roman Catholicism
No complaints from Stoklomolvi; only two documented Roman Catholics lived in Stoklomolvi
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

GUANGZHOU, STOKLOMOLVI - The only two remaining Roman Catholics in Stoklomolvi, wrote Mikhail Stuyonovich himself, have been evicted from the country following a nationwide ban on the religion. Following several dozen attacks against other countries by the volatile and often deemed "idiotic" "country" of "Godly Nations," the Communist Party of Stoklomolvi decided to place a ban on Roman Catholicism, bringing much relief to nearly every inhabitant of Stoklomolvi save for the only two Roman Catholics remaining after the mass emigration. Noting that their religion was banned, the last two Roman Catholics, James and Aaron respectively who lived in two different areas in Guangzhou, fled to another region entirely.

The move has brought little reaction, seeing as to how no Roman Catholics remain in Stoklomolvi anyway and the ban has virtually no effect. While some were concerned about the civil rights of the Roman Catholics, proponents of the ban noted that there were no Roman Catholics to be concerned about, alleviating all opposition to the ban.

New oil deposit found
National Oil Industry excited over the news
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

NOVOSIBIRSK, STOKLOMOLVI - Near the city of Novosibirsk in one of the Siberian provinces, a rather large oil deposit was found after advanced search methods revealed a well of oil that covered some one hundred billion barrels. With the rate of oil consumption in Stoklomolvi approaching nearly thirty four million barrels per day, the deposit came as another blessing, though the current deposit of nearly two trillion barrels would last for a very, very long time. It was expected that the new deposit would ease the strain on the national petrol service, known as "Stokoil" in English and "Стокломасло" in the native tongue, as harvesting methods are rather inefficient in the frozen wastes of Stoklomolvi Siberia. The Communist Party of Stoklomolvi has not yet released a statement on how the oil deposit would affect the oil trade.

Commissar narrowly escapes assassination attempt!
Public fuming over insult towards leader
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

VLADISTOV, STOKLOMOLVI - A group of fascists, who apparently buried themselves underground for the past three months, finally emerged in the courtyard of a military barracks in Vladistov. There, they used their stolen weaponry to gun down the forty guards on duty at the time, and commandeered an artillery piece that was sitting in the courtyard for maintenance. After calibrating the device, two loud booms were heard before the artillery shells struck the Kremlin, both shells detonating in the Commissariat of Fascist Extermination. Commissar Mikhail Alexeiovich Stuyonovich, who was inspecting the facility at the time, was nearly killed by the shells but escaped unharmed after the floor collapsed and he landed in a pile of paperwork. The fascist group, who had planned the attack nearly twenty years ago when the members were still teenagers, numbered nearly two hundred, and was executed by submersion in bathyspheres until pressure broke the vessels.

Meanwhile, people across Stoklomolvi are pointing fingers at the so-called "Imperial Fascist Alliance," the "Grubby Worm Ogres," and the newly formed "Corporate Fascist Worldwide Party" as instigators of the attack. While none of the above entities existed during the time of planning for the attack, it is widely believed that the formation of the "IFA" a number of months ago gave the fascists the courage to carry out their plan. Blame for the digging equipment has been placed in the hands of Greston, but this has not been confirmed. The Communist Party of Stoklomolvi has expressed its outrage over the incident and condemned fascism worldwide for such cowardly attacks.

Nuclear power plant explodes near Chelyuskin
People furious at terrorist act
Image
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

CHELYUSKIN, STOKLOMOLVI - A disaster cited to be the third worst nuclear disaster in Stoklomolvi history, the seventh, ninth, and eighteenth reactors simultaneously malfunctioned. Sabotage has been labelled to be the cause of the incident, as all professionals on duty were some of the finest in the Stoklomolvi Nuclear Energy Corps and that a plant inspection had taken place merely the previous day. Several Stoklomolvi officials have already issued an immediate order for a sarcophagus to be placed over the destroyed reactors, and fire-fighting crews wearing NBC gear have been combating the conflagration for several days.

It has been discovered that controllers on duty were unable to control the graphite control rods in the outdated RBMK-1000 reactors present in the nuclear facility, constructed in 1984. Decommissioning for the reactors were scheduled for 2015, but due to the accident the facility will be quarantined and the area forcibly evacuated. Like in the infamous Chernobyl Nuclear Power Facility on April 26, 1986 in Pripyat, Chernobyl Province, the security systems were disabled though not by operator error or inexperience. Instead, it was discovered that a cell of Siberian saboteurs electronically infiltrated the largely automated facility and ruined the entire operation; the reactor was altered to behave in a way similar to the one in the Chernobyl disaster. The fires lasted for far longer than expected, as the graphite burned for over two days and the remainder of the facility remain molten and burning still. Fallout damage is minimal as the region is rather empty if not completely devoid of life in general.

Casualties as of right now include two operators dead and one diagnosed with massive radiation poisoning. He is unlikely to survive.

Seventeen foreign nationals killed in terrorist attack
Bombing by foreign false-flag civilian passenger craft levels part of a hotel
Stoklomolvi Wire Service

XIANGGANG, STOKLOMOLVI - With the Xianggang Economics Conference underway in Xianggang in southern Stoklomolvi, it became apparent that there were some foreigners who were dissatisfied with the conference being held in a self-professed socialist state. The terrorists, whose remains were identified to be of Kagetoran origin, had flown over a hotel while dropping bombs out the window, detonating a part of the hotel before being shot down by anti-aircraft batteries. The two terrorists were pronounced dead at the scene. At the time, the hotel was occupied by a total of seven hundred people, though luckily only seventeen died due to superior Stoklomolvi engineering and architecture.

The nationals were of the following origins: out of 14, 2 were from Greston, 2 were from Estainia, 3 were from the Borgesian Enlightenment of the House of Boothby, 1 was from Leistung, 2 was from the Beatus, and 4 were from Soviet Republik.

We have recently heard of the bombings made on Stoklomolvi soil, and would like to offer our condolences. Such acts of terrorism are unacceptable, even in nations who we may not see eye to eye with. We deny any involvement of said event, and will begin internal investigations to find any evidence of Kagetorian citizens being involved in the attack.
If you want help with something, simply send me a telegram. I'll do my best to respond intelligently, and if I can't I'll refer you to someone who can.

Civil war begins to mellow

Civil war beginning to mellow in western Stoklomolvi
Fascist presence remains in several provinces

Stoklomolvi Wire Service

MOSKVA, STOKLOMOLVI - With the re-establishment of the rule of the Communist Party of Stoklomolvi following a power seizure by Vladimir Mikhailovich Stuyonovich, the power held by the fascists in the provinces of Moskva, Smolensk, Volgograd, Pskov, Simferopol, and Sevastopol has diminished to mere flecks of dirt on the great red flag that simply await the final brushing off by the people's will. Already, the cities of Rostov, Voronezh, and Stalingrad have independently stamped out the fascist insurrections there with help from the still independently operating People's Liberation Army. Due to the isolation of the fascist groups, and also due to the very small number of fascists total at around ten million, the supposed civil war could be more accurately termed an internal revolt by reactionary forces.

Vladistov reactivated the national SCFNet a number of weeks ago, and the action enabled all households in the country to view instant updates regarding the battle against the fascist threat. Simferopol is on the verge of annihilating the remainder of the fascist forces in the region, and with support from nine hundred infantry divisions at ten thousand strength each the fascists stand no chance.

Major offensive crushes fascists

An offensive launched against a fascist strongpoint outside Pskov kills hundreds

Major communist victory scatters remaining fascists

Stoklomolvi Wire Service

PSKOV, STOKLOMOLVI - With the movement to remove the last vestiges of the fascists in Stoklomolvi, who somehow sprouted after the coup occurred much to the public's dismay, being close to reaching fruition, a major offensive against the lone fascist strongpoint in the western half of the country crushed nearly a million fascists and their supporters in the outskirts of Pskov. Due to the blow to fascist forces, fascist morale apparently collapsed, over eight million fascists remaining surrendered and were transferred to work camps along the outskirts of Siberia. The remaining million remained scattered around the Moskva Municipality, and contingents of People's Liberation Army troops have slowly enveloped and annihilated various groups.

Still, a quarter of a million fascists remain at large, and the PLA is using all of its power it has available to seek out and destroy the remaining reactionary forces.
