Does Ladora have real world location (All of Central America, Italy and Switzerland, The Southern part of Madagascar, etc.)?
OOC:
Not right now, but if I have too much difficulty with map-making issues, that may change.
What is Ladora's stance in foreign affairs? (e.g. Are you hostile towards other nations, do you strive for regional peace?)
Peace is usually preferable, but there is a reason we have military forces. Apart from the neat holiday parades, that is. We approach all new relations with the idea of trust with verification.
How are your stances on human rights especially slavery in your nation?
Ladora's views on human rights are essentially that everybody is equal under the law. Nobody gets special rights, or less rights, compared to everybody else. Slavery is a hideous, evil atrocity.
Is U.S.L. considered a viable common name for Ladora?
It is. U.S.L. is acceptable and in common use, as is US, the United States, the States, and other such names.
What is Ladora's approach to foreign affairs?
I'm not quite sure what you are asking here, but I will try to respond clearly. Ladora is a small nation of roughly seventy five million people, and as such we must handle diplomacy with caution. Diplomacy is normally managed through the State Department, operating a series of Embassies and Consulates in numerous countries around the nations of the world. We try to keep a hand on the pulse of the world, especially in regions where issues of some importance to us are concerned, and to just react calmly and in measured steps to any situation which arises.
In short, we are firm believers in the measured response, despite the fact that it sometimes conflicts with the boisterous nature of our people.
What does Ladora think of socialism?
Excellent question. While we do have some leftists, and some of them would even not object to being called socialists, the vast majority of Ladorans are quite readily opposed to anything even mildly related to that ideology, which they see as flawed and as failed.
Are there a lot of sects in your nation?
If you are inquiring about religious groups, then we have many, ranging from Baptists, Mormons, Catholics, Muslims, and there's even a very small Shinto minority here. Most of us are Protestants, however, of various stripes.
What is your nations legislative branch called?
It is formally known as the Senate and House of Representatives of Ladora in Congress Assembled, but...most of us just say Congress.
What is the status of conscription in Ladora?
It is currently inactive, but the Selective Service apparatus remains in place, dormant, waiting until needed.
