History

In mid-February 1737 the exiled political prisoners, the oppressed people of the World gathered on a free territory called Krsta. They lived in an anarchy for more then a century, when, on October 29, 1864 group of academics and intellectuals formed a legislative body called Rasfallemenn (which firstly consisted of 370 members). On Saturday, 27th of January 1917 on the extraordinary session of Rasfallemenn "Declaration of independence" was unanimously adopted. It's original text:

"We, the peaceful and freedom-loving people of the World, convened on the extraordinary meeting on this, 27th day January, nineteen seventeen (1917), in Felton, capital of the Republic of Krsta,

Acknowledging the fundamental and unalienable right of self-determination of each individual and a group of the joint individuals,

Recalling the years of inconceivable suffering of our people under the various authoritarian régimes,

Honouring the women and men who made a great sacrifices fighting for it's future freedom,

Committed to confront the painful legacy of the previous period, beginning a new epoch of democracy, peace, love, tolerance and liberty,

by declaring independence, sovereignty and statehood of the Republic of Krsta."

370 signatures

(the full text of "Legal evidence in support of independence and moral reasons for declaring it", 82 937 pages long in total of 19 volumes, can be found in the Rasfallemenn Library in Herfinell).

By the 1937 Constitution, Republic of Krsta was renamed to the Antifascist Republic of Krsta and the concept of capital city was abandoned with the separation of powers.

On January 30, 1917 first round of the presidential election was held, with the second one taking place on February 6. Rudolf Flornell of the Independent Social Democratic Party (Ernelt Sozialdemokratienne Stafre) won the election. Presidential term lasted 4 years with only two exception - during the rule of Fabian Rothfard (1921-1924) and Rudolf Flornell (1924-1927). However, reduction to 3 years was lifted in June 1928.

There are total of 786 311 active political parties in the Antifascist Republic of Krsta with 7893 taking part in the election. However since 1917 only Independent Social Democratic Party (Ernelt Sozialdemokratienne Stafre) and Social Liberal Union of Krsta (Sozialiberalnne Liet da Krsta) entered the parliament.

The only "war" Krsta ever was part of was in February 1943 when Sophie Larienne, a young partisan and anti-fascist, was killed by the nazi hordes in the southeastern Krsta. Soon after the whole nation revolted triumphally winning against the fascists after less then hour of fight. The next day, on 23 February, Republic of Krsta was renamed The Antifascist Republic of Krsta. However, since late 1960s the Free Society of Krsta is in widespread use and hardly anyone refers to Krsta as "The Antifascist Republic."

That what is important to notice is that both social democracy and social liberalism here are totally different then the RL one. Social liberalism is usually considered capitalist ideology and is adopted even by the right-wing parties. Here, social liberalism tends to privatization of some factories or companies, but it is yet far from capitalism. It supports the welfare state and it is certainyl centre-left. The most pro-free market factions are at the center in SLUK. On the other hand, ISDP is something like Ulof Palme or Giuseppe Saragat and their democratic socialism, although there are also far left factions (they are quite rare, but they do exist).

The most left-wing party is the All-Communist Alliance of Krsta (AAK), which was established on November 22, 1954 and had stalinism-maoism as it's primary ideology until the 2001 reform. Now, it is a marxist-leninist party, again with strong stalinist factions.

The most right-wing party is the National Patriotic Front (NPF), which is far right and is among the most unpopular political parties. On January 21, 2007 the initiative to ban the party was bought before the Political Parties Registration Commission (Politieke Partei Registreren Kommissien - PPRK). On January 23, NPF agreed to go through the questioning process. On the party assembly on January 31, they decided to send the "softest" delegate to the questioning. On February 8, it was announced that the questioning will begin on March 6 and last from 10:00 am until 03:00 pm each day and that it will conclude on March 13. On April 28, the discussion before the PPRK began and it ended on May 21. On June 9, it was decided that if NPF does not want to cease to exist it shall restrict fascism, racism and other forms of hate speech and discrimination to it's members. They were given a deadline - December 2007, when the new inspection will begin. In August 2007, party was reformed expelling fascists and racists from it's members. Before the reform they had 132 members. After, they had 91 members. As of October 2010, they have 97 members. On December 29, 2007 a report about the party was sent to PPRK. On March 10, 2008 it was decided not to ban NPF.

Culture

We are a multiethnic and multiracial, thus also a multicultural, society. We are open-minded and tolerant.

The most popular music in Krsta is classic. We have a lot of classical music composers and we are proud of it!

However, the favorite art of the Krstans is photography. Krstan embassies abroad anually organize the exposition of the images made by Krstan photographers worldwide. However, those are the copies which are shown there - originals are in front of the Government building in December each year. Top 3 photographs are choosen + best photograph for each category.

There are also some famous krstan painters, drawers, sculptors, novelists, poets, film directors etc. It is very common for each public figure to write it's memoirs upon retiring/leaving the political or social scene. It is hard to find a single person which didn't write it's own autobiography.

Nearly all Krstans, no matter of their age, write diaries regularly.

Holidays

Most of holidays are secular. That what is specially unique is that high number of holidays are not non-working each year, but, for example each 3 or 4 years (for example the day Government is being inaugurated, commonly 21 March, is non-working each 4 years, just as February 17, Inauguration day is. Election day (each 4 years), January 30, is non-working. October 9, each 2 years, is also non-working, as it is parliamentary election day).

January 27 - Independence day
January 30 (only each 4 years; last time: 2007 - next time: 2011) - Election day (first round)
February 17 (only each 4 years; last time: 2007 - next time: 2011) - Inauguration day
February 22 - Anti-fascist action day (Commemorating Sophie Larienne)
March ?? (mostly 21) (only each 4 years; last time: 2007 - next time: 2011) - Government day
May 1 and 2 - Labour day
May 8 and 9 - Victory day
October 9 (only each 2 years; last time: 2010 - next time: 2012) - Election day (Rasfallemenn)
October 29 - Rasfallemenn day
November 9 - Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Fascist Terror (Commemorating the pogrom of Jews, Roma, anti-fascists etc)

What is legal and what is not in Krsta?

1. Homosexuality - Perfectly legal and quite common. About 14% of the population declares themselves as homosexuals (2010).
2. Same-sex marriage - No such a thing as marriage. We practice free love.
3. Same-sex couples child adoption - Perfeclty legal.
4. Homosexuals can donate blood? - That could you or not donate blood does not depend on your sexuality, but on the issue are you healthy or not. Heterosexual can have AIDS as well.
5. Incest - Very uncommon. However, just as any other sexual activity, it is perfectly legal just as long as it is consensual and done by two independent and responsible citizens.
6. Meat-eating - Murder is prohibited, so meat-eating is, as well. There is no opposition to this law, because Krstans generally (even the worst scum) respect the value of life and their moral and ethics would never let them enjoy in something which made other living being unhappy or in this case dead.
7. Abortion - Perfeclty legal, although very uncommon. As I said previously, life is certainly the thing Krstans respect the most.
8. Zoo - There are no ZOOs in Krsta. Animals have freedom of movement. However, as zoology (just as any other biology) lessons always take place outside, in the natuer, students always see nearly all animal species.
9. Circus - Circus is unheard of in Krsta. Using animals in circus would be treated as exploitation and therefore contrary to the basic principles of the Constitution of 1937 and therefore illegal and unconstitutional.
10. Slavery - Unheard of. Freedom is among the most important values of the Krstan life-style. All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights.
11. Demonstration - The fundamental right of the free individual. Direct action against those who violate the one's human and civil rights is encouraged. However, Krstans are notable for using and vocally admiring peaceful and non-violent protest.
12. Public nudity - Perfectly legal and quite common. It is considered completely natural here.
13. Sex in public - Legal, although uncommon.
14. Voting age - No such a thing. When you declare independence (Independence and emancipation act) you gain all those rights, like voting, drinking, having sex, smoking... The youngest person ever to declare independence was a girl which emancipated at 5. Now, she is 13 years old and she is fine, working as a fashion adviser. Oldest person ever to declare independence was a guy who did it at 38. It happened in 1986. He died in June 2009 of heart failure. He was previously working as security guard on the beach parties.
15. Drugs - All drugs are legal.
---

One of the most common things in Krsta are referendums. They happen many times yearly (in 2010 - 7 referendums; in 2009 - 10 referendums; in 2008 13 referendums; in 2007 - 10 referendums); in 2006 4 referendums; in 2005 7 referendums; in 2004 6 referendums...)

Education

Educational program is not compulsory and it is not separated. Every lecturer must apply for each single lecture to the National Commission for Education (Nationaal Kommissien voor Edukatien; NKE). During the lecture, everyone is treated equally, with honor and dignity. School is in fact more like a debating club, in which opinions are expressed and discussed and so on. Everyone, regardless of age, can attend whatever lecture he wants to. There are no students, everyone can enter at whatever part of lecture he wants to and so on. The only role of a school is the location of where lectures take place, although many times they are held outside, in the nature.

Example: Person walks by the street in which one of the school buildings is located. Nearly everyone acknowledges the school and looks at the weekly schedule. It is written "History; Topic: The Antifascist Rebellion of 1943; Lecturer: John Doe; Location: Classroom #924, Sophie Larienne Educational Center; Time: 08:00-10:00 pm - Monday, 1 November 2010."

NKE has total of 786 000 employees all over the country. Each school board consists of approximately 10 to 50 members. Only a few lectures in history of Krsta were rejected by the school board.

The youngest person ever to go to school was Alex Friedman who, in 1997, went to school at the age of 3. He stayed there until 2006, when he was 12. He declared independence on November 30, 2005 and from December 2005 until March 2008 he was working as professor of microbiology, hosting over 120 lectures on that topic. On March 5, 2008 he announced he is retiring after his final lecture which will take place on March 26. Hundreds attended. He announced he will rest a bit and maybe he'll be back in 3 years. On August 9, 2008 he published book "Microbiology for beginners" and book "Microbiological research: 2005-2008" on January 26, 2009. On April 10, 2009 he attended zoology lecture and is still being part of them. On August 13, 2010 he stated that it is possible for him to begin hosting lectures about zoology and to publish a book on that topic. He also said that he is exepting to continue with microbioology lectures in July 2011.

The oldest person ever to go to school was Tim Jefferson who, in 1999, went to school at the age of 16. He stayed there until February 2005, when he was nearly 22. He held only one lecture in his life - on March 23, 2006 about music and guitars. He is active musician and in November 2007 he formed a band "Rock me 83!" It disintegrated on March 15, 2009. In April 2009 Tim (popularly known as "Timmy") said he is retiring for some time. On June 3, 2010 he stated that the "return concert" will be held on August 26 in Weltingsen, on northeast of Krsta. On October 24, 2010 he said he will open a guitar school in 2012.

The person to stay in school for the longest time was Ginna Larmail who enrolled in 1967 and staid in school until 1983. She was 9 when she came for the first time. She mainly attended music (1968-1983), fashion (1973-1983), biology (1967-1980) and painting (1977-1983) lessons. She worked as DJ from 1983 until 1989, when she became a painter, but continued to attend lessons of biology after 9 years. Although she is still a painter, she is fashion designer since summer 1996. In July 2009, she announced that she is retiring in 2011.

Most people attend Acting, Painting, Literary and English (as foreign language) lessons. There are more then 3000 areas about which lectures are held.

We are very sorry to inform you that we are unable to release the documents for this year, because 2010 is still ongoing. They will be available in January 2011.

However, in 2009 total of 57 329 Rhodians immigrated to Krsta, with most (28 986) coming here in October 2009.

There are hardly any immigrants who didn't integrated well in our society. We are open for different cultures and we appreciate diversity.

Actually, some MT nations (and PT nations) DO have them, case in point: The Floor Kippers, they have non-Human sapients, and they're MT.

Catholics make up around 0,01% of population, however none of them strictly respect the Christian religion, just as no one other does because stoning of female partners (conventional marriage is unheard of), war crimes and other forms of violation of human rights promoted by the Bible (and other "holy books", as well) is prohibited by the law.

Krsta doesn't have a military. Nor did it ever had one. We are a hippie-pacifist nation which was founded by the group of philosophers, intellectuals and dissidents who just wanted to escape from tyrannies which spend the people's money on military and similar crap.
