ServoDroid Inc's Main Melee Weapon is the Tactical Trenchknife Bayonet(TTB). It is double-edged, the Blade is 7 inches long (Steel) with a Blood-red/Black colored Leathergrip.The TTB can beset to stun mode, so when the blade hits a peron, it stuns them for a good 30 seconds(Designed for takening prisoners). NCO's and Officer's TTB are usually electrified to deal greater damage(Not stun).

Antarsia's forces are equiped with a 12-18 inch Lanzer PDTB (personal defence tesla baton) which is essentially a carbon-fiber blade with metal, electricity conducting teeth. A large carbon-based battery reserve feeds the teeth with an alternating wave of electricity, (electricity arching from tooth 1 to tooth 2, tooth 2 to tooth 3, etc.) in sequence several thousand times a second.

Every GWO soldier gets two "melee weapons, the Kampfmesser 2000 knife, which is kept in a sleeve on the side of their boots, and the Kukri machete. The Kampfmesser serves as an all-around utility knife, while the Kukri serves the same purposes as a machete, mainly brushclearing and such.

The Kampfmesser 2000 is a German knife design capable of piercing the fuselage of an airplane. It's optimized to serve today's soldier's basic needs, and with the MI-8A2 "AnyKnife Bayonet" attachment, it becomes quite an accessory. Normally found in a bootsleeve, KM2000s are often a GWO soldier's "dirty trick" during hand to hand combat.

The Kukri is a very old design, originally made and used by the Gurkhas of Nepal. Though they were used for almost everything, the Kukri became famous for its terrifying effectiveness as a weapon. The design is such that the user does not need to flick their wrist at all to achieve maximum power behind a slash, and the design has been known to allow users to lop off limbs in single strikes. The dull side is used as a crude hammer. Though uncommon, Kukris are also effective throwing weapons.

Oh, if you want to count them, we also use WJQ-308 shovels/multitools.

Then, soldiers are also free to purchase more weapons. The most popular (to the point where many people think we actually issue them out, even) is the throwable hatchet, or tomahawk. Of course, we've also got spiked clubs, stiletto knives, etc.

Don't forget our improvised weapons, either. A GWO soldier might use a common hammer as a weapon, or they might use said hammer to drive some four inch nails through a 2x4 or wooden club/bat. Then, our engineers have been known to use their reciprocating/circular/manual/chain saws and (auto)hammers in tough, close quarters situations.

Oh, haha, then there's their fists. GWO troops are expected to learn two martial arts forms during their 13-14 month stay at their local Army or Marine Academy.

If our troops get into a melee, it's because somebody screwed up. We don't issue special weapons for screw-ups, so they use whatever is handy. Each trooper is expected to carry (at least) two knives - a small multi-function one and a larger one such as a bayonet, kukri or machete. The latter are mostly useful around camp but can also be used as weapons in a pinch. The trenching tool also makes a nasty gash.

While not officially issued to soldiers, culturally, the traditional and main melee weapons in Ramsetia, involve straight-bladed swords that lack a stabbing tip, and more predominantly, Kite-, Hexagonal- and circular shields.

Pretty much, if an enemy is too close to shoot, because bullets are dirt cheap. Then the enemy is too close to hit with the butt of our rifle. So, our only option would be the knife, or bare hands.

But they also tend to use the stocks of their weapons as clubs too.

PLUS, the Reptilian soldiers (yes, including the Dinosaurs) use their tails, spikes, horns, teeth, claws, and thick heads (in the case of Boneheaded Dinosaurs, of course) in melee combat, the results of which are nasty, especially if they're fighting Human soldiers.

The Fairbairn Sykes Fighting Knife is the main melee weapon of the Novariean military, being issued to every combatant as part of their standard gear. Intended primarily for surprise attacks, it can easily penetrate an opponent's ribcage.



Aside from this all soldiers are also trained in the use of bayonets, as well as hand-to-hand combat (a style based on Krav Maga).

^This exactly. Most people themselves carry around swords or stilettos, and the military gives extensive melee training with the rapier, katana, Walloon sword, and Épée. There's a reason why fencing is our national and most popular sport.
