The most dangerous animal at the moment is the Liger. This isn't a "real" liger, i.e., a crossbreed of a lion and a tiger. It looked kind of like one, though, and many of the locals had an obsession with ligers, so that's what they named it. Now it's too late to rename it, so the liger it remains.

After the northern forests had a little trouble with the Uranium mining, the ligers were forced out of their natural habitats and came closer to encroaching on the cities. Ligers lay eggs (our biologists still haven't figured that one out), and the newborn young have been known to swarm small villages. A few squads have been sent out to get rid of nests near cities, but some hippies want to save them, even though they are beginning to devour our national animal, the cheagle.

There are rumors of a giant creature known as a behemoth near the western marshes, but no one has had a verified sighting. The locals described it as a ten-foot-tall, black monstrosity with giant claws, and it has been reported to eat a few people over the years. However, some of the locals also say that it shoots lasers out if its eyes and can set things on fire with its mind, so the rumors may or may not have truth. Interestingly enough, the locals have started planting flowers to keep it away. Official government standpoint is that it does not exist, or that it is only a spirit worshiped by the locals.
