OOC: Offense? You got me wrong. I wasn't offended in any way. It's just funny for me. I imagine that a native english speaker would react the same were it the opposite case. Of course you can name things as you want, but you can't blame me when it sounds hilarious in my language. If I would call my Airplanes "Flying Wingflyer" you'd laugh too, especially since "flyer" means pamphlet. But if'd I'd use a online translator then there would be an great probability of getting such an translation.

As for giving a damn about the terminology and enthymology of the word, you might call it an professional deformation - I'm a Germanist, so it comes natural. I belive that you have way overreacted. If you don't care, then don't care. You can either appreciate my effort in pointing out to you something that you missed, you might even learn something. Or you might not appreciate it. In the infantry, we call tanks "squeakers". Tankers call us "mud puppies".
