At any rate, all the soldiers have pledged to fight to the death- the prevailing mood is that they're going to die if captured, they're going to get shot by their own comrades if they flee (normally we don't do this, but the militias voted to implement it), and they're probably going to die as civilians if they flee, avoid getting shot, and we lose. So the only thing to do is to fight to the death, and hope that we can save as much of the country as possible.
