but, if all your vehicles are electric and 100% recharged with solar powered rechargeable technology, yet they're inefficient and require rail to compensate for the loss of long distance road travel, why not merge the technology of the rail road cars with the inefficient cars and create a 100% clean car that can travel for a virtually unlimited capacity for travel? And make the cars able to run on the rails together as a train of private cars? It benefits everyone; both the rail industry and the private citizens, the rail industry gains profit from charging the private cars on the rails, and the private citizens now have an efficient means of traveling long distances less expensively.

Interesting suggestion. The rail industry is backing a variant where cars can ride on open-platform railway vehicles, and our city councils are preparing the issue for public consideration as we speak. Meanwhile we expect both solar and battery technology to continue to improve.
