Commend, because it's low and it's the only tax.

In a controversial decision, President Alvinsky has decided she will not have the thirty foot-tall statue of Karl Marx at the Palace of the People removed. She has stated a belief that it shall serve as a way to remind the people of what they have escaped.

Commend: Taxes should be kept reasonably low for the population to be productive and happy.

State Police Departments around the country want to erect memorials for fallen police officers killed in the line of duty due to careless traffic accidents The memorials are crosses that bear the name of the fallen officers.

Commend, so long as you take pains to remind people that it is celebration of what you escaped, not what you were.

Also, commend, they should remember their lives, though I worry about the cost.

Condemn, it is for reason like that, that the proper position of men of reason is distrust of the government.

@ Mediterranea, commend, we have it to, how can you hate a nation so free, and yet love a nation so evil, the answer of course, is that you like them, because moustaches rule!

Though voter turnout is always high during elections, frequent surveys have found that the average Adrian does not consider the government to be a useful methods of change, with Social Organizations, Corporations and Charities all rated significantly higher and only barely passing a single individual.

Condemned; If the average person in a free society has no faith in the government, why have a government?

In Senestrum, faith in the government is quite high; elected officials are often voted in and sometimes removed from office by voter referendum.

Condemn. No political party should be outlawed regardless of how stupid it may be.

In the IIRK the possibility of infringing on freedom of speech is one of those issues that some politicians call career killers.

Commend, freedom of speech is sacrosanct.

@Senestrum, that question is indeed pondered on, but if one wants to live without the government in the Celestial Union all they need is to do is give up their citizenship, and live as a Denizen. So obviously the citizenry has some faith in the government, however as a minarchist society, the government is only limited to operation in the realm of Law and Defence, when your government is law-bound to let do, then your society does the rest.

In JJ Place, the most popular sport is JJ Ball. The object of the game is to use a wide range and assortment of weapons, including machetes, machine guns, sniper rifles, rocket launchers, tanks, and whatever else is scattered across the battle field, and violently kill all opposing team members, or engaging in a similar type combat situation or combat game, such as a game similar to capture the flag. In fact, even the audience can engage in the battle of JJ Ball, by entering into the game at a particular time if they wish. At the end of the game, everyone gets out of the Virtual Reality game and the scores are tallied up, and the winner, winning side or team, or winners is or are declared. And that's the workings of JJ Ball.

Commend because that sounds like wholesome family fun.

In New Ziedrich, theft and/or vandalism of an automobile is severely punished; sentences ranging from two years (Example: egging a car) to over fifty (Example: destruction of a particularly rare and valuable car in an arson) are not unheard of.

Its fun for everyone in the family.

Condemn; that's a bit harsh for a crime against an automobile; a few years for theft might be justified, but 2 years for just a simple egging that removes one finish on a car, and a near life sentence for destroying someone else's car? That's far too harsh a punishment for such a crime that should be reserved to violent crimes such as murder.

In JJ Place, if there is only eye-witness evidence and circumstantial evidence in a crime, regardless of how strong this evidence is, if there is no hard evidence such as forensic evidence found against a party in a crime, the party must be ruled "Not Guilty".

Condemn. You don't trust your people to testify in court? Why bother having trials, then?

In the Triune Republic, divorces can only be granted with the unanimous consent of the three partners, and only if "due cause" has been established. Two of the three partners going behind the third's back on a financial or other important family decision is considered "marital conspiracy" and is considered due cause.

Condemn, because if one spouse wants a divorce but the other two do not, that spouse is legally trapped. Any one individual should have the right to break off legal association with their spouse(es) if they so choose.

In Concordeia, adult-child sexual relationships are legal if and only if the following two conditions are met:

1. The specific activity does not endanger the child's physical/mental wellbeing (meaning full coitus is almost always prohibited).
2. The child gives at least basic consent without any violent or otherwise malicious coercion on the adult's part.

These two conditions also apply to all other non-life-critical activities involving adults and children such as religious practices, sports, etc. In Concordeia, there is no special social status for sexual activity because it's importance and meaning vary between individuals, which is why it is allowed between adults and children according to the above criteria.

Condemn. Children are not adults and frequently do not have full understanding of the consequences of actions. This is especially true the younger they become. In which case, "no coercion" becomes meaningless.

Inuto children are legally permitted to drink in public, provided they are in the company of an adult at least 21 years old.

Commend; that seems fine, and the anti-death crowd can at least appreciate that the criminal remains alive in case he's innocent.

In New Ziedrich, it's legal to form private militias. This right extends to business entities as well, and the largest corporations possess sizable, well-equipped paramilitary forces. Of course, these militias are easily eclipsed by the Imperial armed forces.

Condemn. Eclipsed by the armed forces or not, private militias often have a lack of disipline or restraint that will often cost innocent lives.

In Marcurix the rights laid down in its constution are held by rank, for situations where they would come into conflict. Freedom of speech for example ranks above freedom of religion.
