MLRS n VLS n shit counts as artillery right?

MLRS still doesn't have the range of aircraft, unless you're talking hilarious Scudayushas or ones launching really lol sat-guided long-range cruise missiles(although they are subsonic and therefore opens up the possibility of interception), and even then aircraft still have the advantage of immediacy. There is this system called Club-K, which I've seem on YT, and is basically four Russkie sat-guided cruise missiles in a self-contained launch unit that looks like a standard shipping container.

VLS still counts, but they're usually limited by the sensor range and the curvature of the earth(~300km or so), and a plane getting data from AWACS and other planes on SUSTOPS can add a couple hundred kilos to range by flying part of the way to target and launching the missile.

Also heavy bombers usually succeed a wave of missiles, strike aircraft and light bombers whose job is to destroy enemy air defense. And even then they're escorted by fighters and pack countermeasures, and even then they still will take casualties.

I guess it boils down to success rates. A well-trained pilot, evading air defense already and bringing his bunker-buster to bear would have a better chance than a large gun within range of counter-battery fire and a mass of conscripts, at least for normal nations, who'd have to give aid to the families who've likely lost their breadwinner, etc. etc.

But you, of course, are perfectly okay with abnormality.
