It isn't built like the M16 though. It just looks like it - doesn't mean that the charging handle has to be in the same slot. It can just be on the other side aligned to the bolt carrier, kinda like the FAL. It is gas-operated but importantly the piston is of a different construction and we don't know what type of gas operation it is.British East Pacific wrote:Questers wrote:
The charging handle could be on the other side, to be fair. I can't see it on the drawing, so it must be on the other side.
It's built like the M16/M4, So the Mechanism would be at the top.
Which is clearly blacked by ugly fixed stocks.
In your bullet caliber predicament, your Mag looks about a 5.56mm.
don't hurt me

I already use 7.5 Swiss in my service rifle - this is intended for Mechanised Infantry (hence the name; Sandakan Arms Mechanised Infantry Rifle) so I don't need a full power round. Although it will never actually be issued to them so I don't see why it matters, really. For the record I chose .300 Whisper (7.8 x 34)Indeos wrote:Questers wrote:the carbne i was workin on

7.5mm Swiss?
.300 Whisper wouldn't be a bad choice either, but it seems like more of a SF cartridge.

While I agree that the use of the Armalite receiver sort of makes it appear as if the charging handle must necessarily be in the same place, which is visually confusing, it isn't technically true. In the design it says short-stroke and Indeos just said long-stroke, but either way, so long as the piston and the bolt carrier connect in a place where the charging handle can be mounted to the side, the problem is solved.British East Pacific wrote:Questers wrote: It isn't built like the M16 though. It has the same receiver as the M16/M4. And, unless edited out by paint, it will still (At least, Aesthetically) look like the charging mechanism is blocked.

And it's one of the few PMG rifles that isn't poorly cobbled togetether.
It does have a rail along the top of the receiver, I doubt it would need anymore. It's a used by the A.S.E militia, who seem to be cannon fodder.
Its Cocking Mechanism is still blocked. And Mine are not what you cal "Cobbled Together"
