What I'm aiming for in the end is basically this for the marines and another version without the collar guard, spaulders, backpack or several other bits of armour for the navy version. The navy will also have a different helmet with a bigger visor for better peripheral vision. My reasoning for giving them less protection is (1) starships are cramped and heavy armour would be a hindrance if you don't genuinely need it; and (2) the navy aren't going to be getting shot at as often as the marines so their armour only has to protect them from vacuum and shrapnel rather than bullets.

I did manage to cock-up a little bit though by drawing the armour in two different shades of grey. I should have picked colours with a better contrast since Paint.NET doesn't differentiate between colours and this is going to be a pain for me later when I get onto the colouring.

Fixed the colouring to something easier to work with and started the collarguard:

I suspect that the final version will have a lower, wider collar so as not to restrict head movement. Also the shoulders may not extend out as far; it depends on how the spaulders look once I've drawn them in. Paint.NET's layering tool's a big help; I can create a new layer for each overlapping armour segment and then hide it when I'm working on one of the pieces of armour that would be concealed.

The collarguard actually was inspired by medieval suits of armour, with the vaguely T-shaped visor coming from those Ancient Greek helmets which also inspired the one in your image by the looks of it.

The Corinthian helmet? It's automatically awesome because of link to SRR!

"SRR"?

But yes. Pretty sure it also inspired the Clone Troopers in the Star Wars prequels. Say what you want about the films, but the clones looked like badasses!

EDIT: Also, I may do an honour guard version of the armour with robes added for awesome. On the other hand, I'm not sure that most honor guard duties would actually call for marines openly wearing power armour. Politicians in the UIF don't get shot at that often!

Possibly one of the most secretive special forces units in the Western world (that is known to exist). Special Reconnaissance Regiment, formed from the Det in like '05 or something. Practically no info to be found online, except the Wiki article quoted or ripped on different sites.

I think WC3 humans need to be buffed. They cant duke it out land v land with orcs or undead. They can only hope fighting vs Night elves. But then the defend ability reduces ONLY piercing damage 50% and slows 30%, which means they only block 20% of damage when running away. BUFF! BUFF! and militia die too easily.

For me, yeah, spam riflemen and gryphon riders. YOU WIN!

How many would be interested in playing as one of these factions in an Anarchism type RP. There will be a massive plot of land that's too mountainous, forested and swamplandish to conquer. However, there are three different races of people who live there but fend for themselves for thousands of years - despite many wars to conquer each other and unite the land. At this point 3 leaders have risen up amongst all 3 of the civilizations on the land and have decided that it is due time for a final war to conquer the land. However, unlike other nations of the world this country does not have air power nor advanced technology or factories that can produce tanks or APCs. The only items available are items smuggled in from neighbor countries that are obtainable through civilian populations as no government will sell military hardware to an uncivilized people. Each different civilization will be different and have it's own traits, advantages, etc.

Who's in?

P.S. The people at the bottom are the leaders.

Speaking of roleplays, are we ever going to get the SG roleplay going?

Also, Fash, people usually like getting freedom of making their own stuff, with limitations usually, in roleplays.

But, I do like the Left side's vehicles in a way.

Oh no I'm not only including people from this thread I want others to be able to participate too. And if I get enough participation I'll make more factions from old works that I have.

Yes he has an MP-40 with home-modified tactical upgrades... I doubt it would be reliable in the swamps though.

Thank you.

I'm not sure about the bolt, either. I'm thinking it might wrap around the barrel or something and connect farther back in the stock, if that makes any sense.

I'd preferably make mah own faction.
