Street Stores In Your Nation

Postby Kalasparata » Wed Aug 18, 2010 2:24 am

We have many street stores in our nation, weather it be in our large cities or tiny villages or islands, many park them selves infront of supermarkets and sell fresher fruit or vegestables for a lower price. Yea, the supermarkets get really pissed off, and they try to get rid of them, but they can't unless they are on the supermarket's property. We are a capitalist nation

The only time we set up street stores is if some foreign ship is expected to land. Then we come out in hordes to hawk all sorts of touristy crap wonderful souvenirs of Victorious Decepticons.

If vendors sold anything Decepticons would want, they'd just get raided down to their bare tables in less than 10 minutes. Thieves could easily land for a second, swipe stuff, and then fly away. Here, it's much better to set up indoor stores with just a few exit points and plenty of security.

While we appreciate the connive of setting up a better stand right outside of a store, the above would make it impractical. Also, the owner of the bigger store would get very pissed off and blast the competitor.

A vegestable might be a stable where people sell vegetables. And a horserystore might be a store where they sell horses.

No, our streets are for walking/driving on, not for selling random crap. Certainly it can't be that hard to actually rent out some space somewhere.

Streets not actively used for driving on tend to be filled with budding entrepreneurs selling everything from lemonade to anti-tank rockets. Streets actively used for driving on tend to be filled with cars, and anyone who tried to set up a shop on such a street would end up as a road waffle.

Our roads are for driving and walking too. But the footpath is so damn wide that it fits street stores and kiosks. We also have a whole street full of them, being a capitalist nation

We have many street stores and open-air markets, selling regional food and drinks, clothing, handicrafts and much more. They do not need a permit to operate unless they are over a certain size or sell controlled goods like alcohol.

That's also what I thought this thread was going to be about, when I saw it in the "latest threads" column.

We have lots of those, but those are usually on the ground floor of a building, not taking up space on the sidewalk.

Street vendors in Nexus are required to have a permit to protect both consumers and store-front businesses. There are numerous issues to be considered including health regulation compliances for foodstuffs, tax collection, and recourse to consumer rights.

They are illegal in Great Nepal for people's continence. Streets are there for people to walk/drive not for business. If someone wants to set up store - they can rent a room/flat/house like everyone else.

There are no streets here. Instead we have a tube transportation system that connects all habitats. Having a store in one of the tubes would be lethal for anyone.

Street vendors are common and plentiful. Merchant Avenue is the most prominent where thousands upon thousands of street vendors of all types fill the streets on a regular basis and sell their goods. Street markets are also plentiful, with one usually attached to a sky farm so farmers can transfer their goods from the sky farm to the street no problem.

Sidewalks are as wide as they need to. They can very well be "so damn wide", but putting up street stores and kiosks won't leave enough space for, well, walking.

Street vendors are not uncommon, but not particularly numerous either. Generally, they don't sell their products in front of stores that sell they same products they are mongering.

We don't have street vendors popping up willy-nilly on our roads or footpaths. They usually set up in specific open areas in bazaar style.

1. Our streets and roads are wide too - but it means people can walk/ drive more comfortably not that it inhabits street stores and kiosks.
2. It has nothing to do with capitalist or communist. ;)
