Generally, no. Since the military government took power in 1992 human rights abuses have become increasingly widespread, with dissidents being taken by government forces to work camps and protesters being attacked with automatic weapons. Although officially the civilian puppet government has been working on a program to curtail abuses and corruption, this has progressed little beyond a paper project

Yes. Its very important to the Cyrisnian government to maintain human rights, and expand them. Slavery is outlawed, and Cyrisnia generally doesn't interact with slaver nations, although there is only one in Cyrisnia's world.

The Michillian Republic is constitutionally bound to respect human rights. They are considered so fundamental to the foundations of society that the article on civil and political rights and duties comes before anything establishing the Michillian state itself.

The Republic of Chagatay is currently working on making Chagatay a place that accepts all humans regardless of Sexuality, Belief, Ability, and other things, but before the Republic, came the Empire of Chagatay. The last Emperor, Cheng T'an, kinda did something in between the Apartheid in South Africa, and the Holocaust with anyone who wasn't a Chinese or Mongol males that were Muslim. Chinese or Mongol Women who were Muslim had only a few bits of human rights taken away, but it goes far down hill after that.

Oh, there's an "official" set of human rights now? Official according to whom? There's even a list! Mind you, it was set up by a single government as a way to project their own ideals and standards into the faces of the rest of the world, but that's how these things often work.

Garten's citizenry all enjoy basic sapient rights, especially the chief three, those being life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Note, we say the pursuit of happiness. Nothing assures you'll get it in the end. There are few things worse than a state thinking it can choose winners.

In the end, we dismiss this list as the hogwash it clearly is. We uphold the rights of the people as we understand them, not as some foreign pack of eggheads interprets them from their classrooms.
Ft. Hood did not occur because of guns, but because of gun control. U.S. soldiers are required by law to be disarmed on their own bases, leaving them horribly exposed to even a lone madman with a pistol. Gun control advocates, the blood of those soldiers is on your hands.

(apparently I already posted here, but I'll post again if only for the lulz)

We consider ourselves upholding of human rights, but then again, this depends on your definition of human rights. Machine Race humans have all the rights they need. Organics or those religious maggots, however, have the right to upgrade themselves cybernetically or psychologically, or face being ostracised from society (woe betide if you're both!). But officially, we support human rights for ALL humans.

We don't just "uphold" human rights, we start WARS to ensure they are upheld! We have brutally executed people for attempts at genocide and other vicious crimes alike to that, and we've never asked anyone if we were allowed (not that there is really anyone to ask). The Ambracians have tried over and over again, and we just keep smashing them for it. Our old Grand Chancellor did some terrible things too, but now most people involved with those crimes are finding new living accommodations in shallow graves.

1) We Are All Born Free & Equal Yes
2) No Discrimination Yes
3) The Right to Life Yes
4) No Slavery Yes
5) No Torture Not usually, used in extreme cases
6) You Have Rights No Matter Where You Go Yes
7) We're All Equal Before the Law Yes
8 ) Your Human Rights Are Protected by Law Unofficially yes for some, we're working on a constitution, but some rights are guaranteed by existing laws
9) No Unfair Detainment Yes in most cases, usually a good reason must exist
10) The Right to a Fair Trial Yes in most cases
11) We're Always Innocent Till Proven Guilty Yes in most cases
12) The Right to Privacy For the most part yes, some spying is done, but not on all citizens
13) Freedom to Move Yes
14) The Right to Seek a Safe Place to Live Yes
15) Right to a Nationality Yes?
16) Right to Marriage and Family Yes
17) The Right to Your Own Things Yes
18) Freedom of Thought Yes
19) Freedom of Expression As long as it isn't hate speech, yes
20) The Right to Public Assembly Yes so long as it is peaceful and not for the purposes of hate
21) The Right to Democracy Limited yes. Democracy exists to represent the people, but elected officials have very little power over legislature
22) Right to Property Yes
23) Right to Just Compensation Yes
24) Right to Self-Ownership Yes to a degree (we try to prevent suicides and unhealthy life choices where possible)
25) Right to Beget One's Kind Yes? (unsure of what is meant here)
26) The Right to Education The right to education is universal here, but access to it is sometimes limited, something we are currently trying to fix
27) The Right to Copyright Yes in most cases, no in some special cases, typically for the benefit of the state.
28) The Right to a Fair and Free World Yes, and we help ensure this by taking active roles in the world, diplomatically and militarily
29) The Right to Responsibility Yes, unless you prove yourself to be irresponsible
30) No One Can Take Away Your Human Rights The rights we grant you as permanent human rights (freedom of belief, sexuality, love, etc.) can be taken by no person or law under any circumstance.

Pice's constitution determines what every citizen, be they an umbran, human, anthro or some other species, is entitled to. The concept of 'human' rights was never conceived in Pice seeing as the term carries speciesist connotations. Below is the Bill of Rights of Pice.

  1. No law shall be passed which controls a citizen's opinion or belief, or the expression of an opinion or belief, whether written or spoken.
  2. No law shall be passed which controls the assembly of citizens into a collective or a citizen's association to a collective.
  3. No law shall be passed which strips a citizen of their property for more than a fifth of its monetary value every year as a flat income tax.
  4. Any property stripped from a citizen outside this scope must move from person to person as compensation, debt, loan or otherwise.
  5. Punishment enforced by law shall never violate the bodily integrity of a citizen, take their life or wrongfully strip them from their property.
  6. All searches conducted by police are required to have a warrant and all warrants shall be issued only upon probable cause.
  7. No law shall be passed which controls the movement of a citizen in an unenclosed public space.
  8. No law shall be passed which controls the purchase, ownership and possession of conventional firearms and melee weapons.
  9. No law shall be passed which controls the adequate defense of property, oneself or another citizen against crime.
  10. No law shall be passed which allows the ownership of a person by a citizen as property.
  11. No law shall be passed which denies a citizen's access to adequate education and healthcare, or to a basic income.
  12. No law shall be passed which dictates a citizen to do or binds them to a duty which does against their own conscience.
  13. No citizen shall be held to answer for a crime without the presentment or indictment of an impartial jury.
  14. No law shall be passed which denies a citizen's access to adequate representation in court or dictates a citizen to testify against themselves.
  15. No law shall be made which puts some citizens before or after others due to their personal attributes and thus violates equality before law.
I am an apolitical, amoral, irreligious existential nihilist. Hence, I support the things I support because I like to support them. I don't believe in an objective good and evil, purpose of life or economic value of goods and services just like I don't believe in a god.
A worldview is like a pair of glasses. People who discriminate have the lenses of their glasses tinted into a certain color. Religious people's glasses show them what other people's glasses don't. An optimist's glasses are painted with hope when they look forward, whereas a pessimist's glasses are dark and gloomy. I prefer glasses that adjust my vision on the world towards logic, reason, scientific facts and evidence, or, to put it bluntly, towards reality.
