22) Social Security
23) Workers' Rights
24) The Right to Play
25) Food and Shelter for All

We generally agreed with you, until we came up to numbers 22-25. Living Freedom Land believes those rights should be substituted with these rights:
22) Right to Property
23) Right to Just Compensation
24) Right to Self-Ownership
25) Right to Beget One's Kind

Well, if that is so, then OK. In that case, all of the rights will be accepted.

How about upholding non-human rights? We're people too, after all.

You see, we're pretty keen on capitalism, and we don't like big government.
Also, the Right to Beget One's kind would keep tyrannical regimes from setting up one child laws and the like. That seems a little more like common ground.

My nation is trying to rid itself of its 'omnipresent' status. We've made it so far without being at 0% or 100% income tax, so fingers crossed.........

No we don't. Most of those rights exist within Yallak to the Yallakian people as law, but we'll certainly disregard any such concerns when dealing with foreign nations.

All but 22 and 30.

For 22, we don't live in a democracy, so how could people have a right to it?

For 30, rights can be removed by repealing clauses of the Charter.

We do uphold extensive and numerous human rights within our borders, but when it comes to international issues, we're neutral. We stay out of it as it is not our business, nor our concern. Any form of participation infringes upon our ability to remain neutral and turn a healthy profit. If we are neutral and non-judgmental of other nations, we are able to conduct business.

These are the basic rights granted to all citizens. These are just general rights.

  • Freedom of expression, conscience, association, religion and belief
  • Right to vote in all elections provided they have reach the legal age of suffrage
  • Right to a swift, timely trial and counsel
  • Right to be protected against unreasonable foreign laws
  • Right to repatriation upon proving patriotism and loyalty to the Prophets of Profit and the ideals they represented
  • Right to profit and property; personal and real
  • Right to a full, comprehensive education
  • Right to protection against unreasonable detainment, search and seizure
  • Right to life, liberty and security of one's self, family and property

Let's see then... Here's our stances:

1) We Are All Born Free & Equal
2) No Discrimination
...
4) No Slavery
5) No Torture

We agree with these positions, but they don't sound like rights. Also as personal preference, we don't think a list of rights should be written in first person plural... it sounds to socialist for us.

6) You Have Rights No Matter Where You Go

You have rights anywhere in Swilatia, but we can't guarantee them if you're going to be travelling to a less free country.

7) We're All Equal Before the Law

Again with the "we are"? We'd just call it Equality before the law, but yeah, we have that.

8) Your Human Rights Are Protected by Law

Probably...

9) No Unfair Detainment

See #1, 2, 4, 5.

10) The Right to a Fair Trial
11) We're Always Innocent Till Proven Guilty
12) The Right to Privacy

We have all of these.

13) Freedom to Move
14) The Right to Seek a Safe Place to Live

Aren't those pretty much the same thing?

15) Right to a Nationality

Okay... we're not sure what this...

16) Right to Marriage and Family

Most Swilatians aren't too big on the whole marriage thing.

17) The Right to Your Own Things

We believe the correct term is right to property, but we definitely have that.

18) Freedom of Thought
19) Freedom of Expression
20) The Right to Public Assembly

We have all of those.

21) The Right to Democracy

And the right to vote, obviously

22) Right to Property

Wait, didn't you mention this before?

23) Right to Just Compensation
24) Right to Self-Ownership

Okay...

25) Right to Beget One's Kind

We're not sure what this is supposed to mean.

26) The Right to Education

LOL, good one!

27) The Right to Copyright

Meh... we do like our free MP3's

28) The Right to a Fair and Free World

Okay, maybe this isn't as funny as the education one. Still, where do you come up with these?

29) The Right to Responsibility

er, contradiction much?

30) No One Can Take Away Your Human Rights

And that's the end of it... I take it freedom of speech and freedom of religion aren't human rights, then?

Humans first showed up in what is now the Commonwealth around 1505, just as the Compact of Ratisbon was signed and Queen Narcissa set upon her throne by the aristocracy. It is believed they were brought here by a wyrdstorm, or a cloud of wild magic energy.

Initially few in numbers, the humans hid in the countryside and lived by themselves, at once harassed, pitied and feared by the local peoples living around them, usually only coming out to the established communities to trade, and then always in armed companies. Sometimes when raided by slavers, they would pursue ruthlessly until they had recovered any of theirs captured, and killed those responsible.

Narcissa feared the humans as a potentially destabilizing influence, and made several attempts during the next fifteen years to stomp them in to submission. A few small villages were annihilated and a few hundred were killed. Despite these efforts, the humans kept refusing her demands to bend the knee and submit, and seemed impossible to wipe out completely.

Much later, Queen Scarlet the Branded, remembering an occasion in which her life had been saved by human rangers, offered the humans all the legal protections of the Crown, which they accepted.

Humans now live in relative peace with the rest of us. Still viewed with suspicion by many, and feared by some others, they occupy a very unusual niche in Commonwealth society. Even so, they have all the same legal rights as their peers.

We consider ourselves upholders of human rights more than most nations. However, we have our fair share of reservations about the list in the OP.

Privacy: You have a right to keep your own secrets, but you don't have a right to expect others to do it for you.

Nationality: Probably does more harm than good.

Property: Fatatatutian culture has no strong tradition of private property. You have no right to withhold from the community what it needs.

Copyright: Generally not recognized in Fatatatutti.

Fair and Free World: More of a pipe dream than a right.

We don't recognize "rights" of any other species but homo sapiens but we do recognize the responsibility to treat all species fairly in accordance with own consciences.

Yes.

The right to self-sovereignty (to rule oneself); you are entitled to nothing, save that of what your own will can earn.

In accordance with the Creed of the Laissez-Faire, so say we all!

Capitalism is always the answer. Whenever there's a problem in capitalism, you just need some more capitalism. If the solution isn't capitalism, then it's not really a problem. If your capitalism gets damaged, you just need to throw some capitalism on it and get on with your life.
