It depends:

For men - any type of lager.
For women, especially on Fri/Sat nights - "Anything, as long as it's alcoholic."
Please note that Mid Lothian is based on fantasy. Any references to anything/one/where that exists is completely coincidential.
Frequently used abbreviations: HoS = Head of State; HoG = Head of Government; ML = Mid Lothian; KSS - Kate Stephens-Smith.
Fancy an embassy in ML? Click me for details. (PS - I'll return the favour.)
I am usually rewriting stuff about Mid Lothian - just because it's true today isn't necessarily true tomorrow.

Warning - Full-time Grammar Nazi at work. You have been warned. (I guess that's due to my mum being an English teacher. Also, don't use masculine words to describe me - my name is Rebecca, which is clearly a feminine name.)

A favorite national pastime in Teshland is the enjoyment of drinks, and we are impartial to most, however, the hands-down favorite of our nation is Beck's Great Rum, a Teshland native created with a secret recipe that, in our opinion, has no equal in the world.

Due to the rapid restructuring of the society and the economy, we are no longer too poor to afford booze. Beer is common with most, but the higher class and military officers prefer whiskey, cognac, brandy or vodka.

Islanders will drink just about anything alcoholic. Alcohol is not a problem in itself, which is why the Prohibition and Temperance groups get laughed at around here.

Rum, whiskeys of various sorts, Everclear, other pure grain alcohols, gin, tequila, and so forth. You name it, we drink it. Not to excess, though.

Dagnians rarely drink if ever. There are no national laws against it, and few prefectural or local laws restricting or regulating it, however there are often social consequences (ostracism mostly) for being viewed as a lush.

However, even here, alcohol can be considered a part of having fun, so we do have our own local beers, wines and spirits. Drinks similar to Absinthe and Korean Soju are popular with younger people who are on their first time away from the watchful eyes of their parents, as well as artistic, bohemian types. A drink similar to Sake is popular for people trying to relax. Beers of various quality are popular with just about everyone and most people have at least one beer in their lives.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again

Beer, but non-alcoholic beer is preferred more often nowadays due to our government's strong stance against alcoholism.

India Pale Ale is the nation's favourite variety of beer, but ale of all kinds is enjoyed. Spirits wise, rum is top of the list. Pure strong spirits are not hugely popular, although vodka does see use as a cocktail ingredient.

Alcohol is banned in the PUS. Most common illegal alcohol is European (usually Italian or French) wine and German beer.
