Prohibition is irrevocably enforced by the Constitution of TurtleShroom, and not in amendment form, either, but in the actual document framework.

The punishment for merely being caught drinking alcohol is two weeks of privatized prison, and that doulbes per offense. TurtleShroom has a dedicated, seperate court circuit to try drug and alcohol cases, which even has its own independent Supreme Court, the Grand Alcoholic Tribunal.

The prisons can actually take the strain of alcohol crimes because they are privatized and almost completely unregulated.
It's not like prisoners deserve any more rights than edible food, (relatively) clean/drinkable water, and a toilet, right?

Adrians are typically wine drinkers, with a preference for red and sparkling white champagne. That said wine is scarcely considered alcohol in the Empire, most Adrians prefer scotch or gin when actually drinking. Irresponsible drinking however doesn't occur outside the proletarii.

Augarian "Sveyt" is a beverage unique to the Imperium. The expensive beverage has a HUGE amount of alcohol, but is relatively uncommon. It is known only because of its infamous status, but is otherwise rare.

Augarian wine ("Wina") is common; it is a dark red substance of low alcohol usually consumed at dinner. The red wine is produced on the outskirts of Mutralv, and is considered relatively healthy in small daily doses.

Beer and vodka. Vodka is usually drunk straight in Radictistan. I don't know enough about beer to go into more detail about Radictistani beer.

Our most potent potable is rum made from the local sugar cane. Captain Criggin is the national standard, a very dark rum with a greenish tint and a distinct gasoline flavour. There are many imitations, including Captain Zagor, but it has never been duplicated. It is always drunk at room temperature (which is 26 degrees Celsius all year round in Fatatatutti). Occasionally, it is mixed with CC++ cola, which contains a safe dose of cocaine, but otherwise, mixers and ice are only for children.

For the less adventurous, some other popular alcoholic drinks include coconut wine and pineapple brandy.

Various "fine" beers are drunk primarily by the upper-class due to their outrageous prices and reputations as being "proper good beers;" however, it is considered much more fashionable to have a mixed drink in hand at a party.

Ales are consumed by nearly all commoners, as they are relatively affordable for regular drinking.

Mead is only drunk by laborers and those who cannot afford anything else. It is avaliable commercially for dirt-cheap prices.

Wine is a popular alcoholic beverage in novus niciae, we prefer the merlot and pinot noir types of red wine.
We also have several heavily fortified varieties of port (about 70% ~3x that of normal port) that we do not export due to their high alcohol content, (we have enhanced metabolisms and it takes a lot to actually get us drunk).
