All persons born on Jeunese soil are Jeunese citizens, and anyone born into a family where at least one of the parents are Jeunese citizens automatically gains citizenship. Aliens are granted all rights of Jeunese citizens, excepting the franchise and the campaigning for office. Any foreigner wishing to become a Jeunese citizen, having lived in Jeuna for one year, must write the Minister of the Interior, who will issue a Certificate of Naturalisation. No other requirements are made. Renunciation of citizenship may be done before any justice of the peace. Regaining citizenship, having previously renounced it, is the same as any other alien acquiring citizenship.

Any turtle or mushroom that enters TurtleShroom is, by default, a quasi-citizen/permanent resident of the realm. As residents, they can do most everything except run for office and vote. Turtles and mushrooms are not normally subjected to the border patrol that checks humans, but there are basic requirements they must have.

For humans to become citizens, meanwhile...
  • They'd better know English, because in TurtleShroom, you speak English or you speak nothing. Everything in TurtleShroom is solely available in and administered in English, much like right-wing America. Private companies and firms can use a translator and other things at their whim, but the government is solely English. The nation will not bend to someone else's language, rather, they must learn TurtleShroom's.
  • They must first make it through Border Patrol and the Customs Office.
  • They must not have a past criminal drug record and must be sober upon entering TurtleShroom. Breath tests will be administered.
  • They must have a clean criminal record from their previous homeland.
  • The must not be Satanist, Pastafarian, a member of a parody religion, a Discordian, or a Nazi.
  • They must live in TurtleShroom for two years and maintain a perfect record, or, in other words, not committing a single crime.
  • After two years, they can go for it and take a Citizenship Test. If they succeed, they are now full TurtleShroom Citizens. Following an oath, it's done.

HOWEVER, there are workarounds to get citizenship faster.
  • Refugees can do the same process in one year.
  • Slaves are instantly emancipated upon crossing the border into TurtleShroom and can do it in a month without a citizenship test.
  • Joining the military and serving a full mandate is instant citizenship.


TurtleShroom also excercises a sweeping Jos soli doctrine...
  • If you're on vacation here and you give birth, the kid is a TS citizen.
  • If you are in TurtleShroom on a student visa, and you give birth, your child becomes a TurtleShroom citizen.
  • If you are legally in TurtleShroom and marry a TurtleShroom citizen in TurtleShroom under TS marriage law, you instantly become a citizen.
  • If you are born in an airplane flying over TurtleShroom, you are a TurtleShroom citizen.
  • If you are adopted by one or two TurtleShroom citizens, you become a citizen once the adoption is approved. If one spouse is not a citizen, the adoption naturalizes her, too.


However, Jos soli is not absolute...
  • The children of illegal immigrants do not become citizens. They loophole this by getting on airplanes and giving birth flying over TurtleShroom.
  • The offspring of a human and an animal is not a citizen. (Most creatures can't do this.) In fact, the human/animal couple and their child are expelled from the country. Most forms of zoophillia are capital crimes.
  • Neokomi/cat-girls/human-animal hybrids born in TurtleShroom do not recieve citizenship.
  • Citizenship is denied to the offspring of terrorists or those with terrorist connections.


Ways to lose TurtleShroom citizenship...
  • Officially denounce it in a TurtleShroom court of law before a judge and two witnesses, and have the authorization notarized.
  • Be successfully convicted of terrorism in a court of law.*
  • Attempt to obtain a homosexual marriage.**
  • Be successfully convicted of High or Normal Treason.*
  • Kill a fellow man (or creature) and be sentanced to Life In Prison No Parole or capital punishment.*
  • Become a Nazi, Pastafarian, Discordianist, or adherent to a parody religion.
  • Recieve a prison sentance over sixty years long.
  • Aquire citizenship in a Nazi, Satanist, Pastafarian, or terrorist state.*

    * = citizenship can not be re-aquired.
    ** = if seeking to regain citizenship, the creature must restart the naturalization process. Upon completion, the creature must swear allegiance to the country TurtleShroom and all it stands for while attached to a polygraph.

a) be under 70 years old
b) be human, Weylaran human (subspecies) or lizardfolk

Citizenship can be revoked if the individual meets "must-not" criteria b) and c) even after they've been granted it. Coming of age over 70 after being awarded citizenship is permitted. If their home country enters into war during the five-year period or after, they may possibly be denied in the first case but never in the second. Non-permitted species may still be awarded citizenship through option c).

People are allowed to apply for citizenship, doesn't matter who you are as long as your not Christian or an international criminal.

People within the region of Judea and Ozzy get to visit for free, but have to apply for citizenship if they want to stay permanently.

You must have served at least 2 tours of duty with the military, to get into the military as a foreigner (even if you don't plan to become a citizen) you must pass a stringent exam.

Health:
Must have no mental health issues,
Must not suffer from any long term limb damage
Must not require medication
Must have been free from any asthma related paraphinallia for 4+ years.

Fitness:
IQ must be 120+
Must be able to run 6 miles in 40 minutes
Must be able to do 60 press ups
Must be able to do 20 pull ups
Must be able to do 70 sit ups
Must be able to travel 40km carrying 30kg in 18hrs
Must be able to swim 500m.

Else:
No recent criminal offences (15+ years ago should do it)
Maximum age is 40, minimum is 16
Must speak English, latin or Mighty Brittanic
Must give a good reason to become a citizen.

In order to become a citizen of the Principality of Allrule, one must be 15 or older, learn either English or German, have lived in the country for 2 years or more, and must not have committed any felony.

Once these criteria have been met, one must submit an application in the language which they are fluent in to the Department of Citizenship and Immigration. A 5-member committee will then vote on whether to approve or deny the application. One can still submit an application even if they are denied, however this is looked down upon by some.

To immigrate to Allrule one merely needs to cross the border.

In short, becoming a Decepticon citizen requires passing psychological and intelligence tests, a "live-fire field trial" of life under Decepticon rule, swearing allegiance to Megatron and the Decepticon Way, and then permanently becoming a robot.

In detail:

Members of all species - even those from planets we are invading - can apply for Decepticon citizenship. We do, however, have a rigorous screening process. The requirements are listed from first step to last, and to succeed at becoming a citizen, all of them must be satisfied.

First, the applicant must get to the immigration center on Planet Cybertron, and come with whatever equipment and supplies his/her species needs to survive here. This weeds out all but the most resourceful.

The applicant must have enough mental maturity to have a decent understanding of what he's getting into and the real implications of living in a nearly-lawless society of pirates. Anyone who comes up to one of us going "OMG DECEPICONZZ COOLLL I WANNA BE ONE 11!!!!1" will be turned away. Such people are welcome to reapply when they're significantly older. Being awed by glossy-painted beings 20x your size is one thing, but you must be mature enough to not want to "go home" as soon as the new wears off.

If obvious signs of n00bishness or extreme immaturity are not detected, a psychological test is given. This test weeds out those who would be against the Decepticon Way. It also weeds out wimps who really couldn't handle living under the Decepticon Way - many hear of our lawlessness and only imagine being able to pull whatever they want. Those often forget that also means people can do that TO THEM and therefore they must be prepared to defend themselves at ALL TIMES.

If the psych test is passed, an IQ-like test is given. Most people are just average, but we don't need to import any averageness. Only intelligent and creative (in the manner of the Decepticon Way) people will be allowed citizenship.

If the applicant passes that test, he is then sent to Earth (because most biologicals need no space suits to live there) for about 2 months to learn what it is really like to live under Megatron's dictatorship and the Decepticon Way. If the applicant is human, he is given obvious identifying clothing so he isn't mistaken for a slave. That, however, is not a complete assurance that he won't be sucked into the underworld of illicit slave trading, never to be seen again! He will have to use all his wiles to avoid this fate. In his favor, as a citizenship applicant he is allowed to operate under the Decepticon Way. This means he can bear powerful weapons to defend himself. He can also do any non-treasonous "crimes" he thinks he can get away with.

If he appears at the Earthside immigration center at his appointed pickup time, he is asked whether he still wants to be a Citizen. If not, he is returned to his ship on Cybertron and allowed to go back to wherever he came from. Usually, though, the answer is YES! The type of person who will willingly travel to, and can survive in, such an environment is usually the type that can see the huge upsides that will become available once he has the full power of a Decepticon.

The applicant then returns to Cybertron. The applicant will be given a tour of the planet. Both its good and bad parts will be shown. Applicants need to know what will become of them if they're not properly Deceptive and Conniving, so they're flown over the slums where such failures end up. To offset this, they are shown the rich areas, where leading raid-gang bosses, Ponzi schemers, and the kingpins of shady corporations live. Finally, the middle class areas are shown. This is where most immigrants actually end up. Here, hired "muscle" and other such midrange types tend to make their homes. There are also a few who have resorted to getting "regular jobs" to avoid the slums, but those are rare.

Finally, assuming the applicant still wants to be a Decepticon, they are taken back to the immigration center. There, they are shown a full-sized, full-strength robotic construct, empty of data, sentience, and sapience. This is the body the applicant's mind will soon be transferred to! Once transferred, the applicant will have over 100x the processing power and 10,000x the physical strength of a human. Only then will he truly be able to call himself "Decepticon."

This is the last chance to back out. Amazingly, some do. Most who have made it this far, however, are eager to get into that body so they can have the strength and power - both mental and physical - of being a Decepticon!

Before the transfer, though, there is one last thing for the applicant to do: The swearing of allegiance. The applicant must swear total loyalty and obedience to both Megatron and the Decepticon Way.

Once loyalty is sworn, the transfer process begins. The applicant sits in a chair and extremely sensitive pick-up wires are attached to his head. These wires lead to the transfer unit, which is in turn connected to the robotic body. The transfer unit will port the applicant's mind-script into the language that runs on the Decepticon OS. The process itself is actually quite disconcerting and painful, so the applicant is restrained in the chair to prevent reflex reactions from causing incomplete transfers. The process takes about 5 hours for the average successful applicant, though it takes longer for highly-educated subjects due to the additional data involved.

During the transfer process, a few data packs are added if needed: A translation pack so he can immediately speak Binary is pretty much a given. Many biologicals did poorly with at least one subject in their schooling, so data packs to make up for such deficiencies are also installed if the subjects are deemed important for Decepticon life.

When the transfer process is complete, the applicant roars to life in his new body. He is immediately welcomed as a new Decepticon citizen, with all the privileges that entails. After a short statement, he is given an Energon Cube to start him off, and sent into the "jungle" of Cybertron to make his new life. We know that he won't need more help than this - anyone who managed to live on Earth as a biological for 2 months and not end up working in some mine doesn't need any aid!

While he is distracted, his old - and now dead - biological body is whisked out of sight. He will likely not even think of it for several days; it is now no more important to him than a shed skin.

To become a Citizen:

Must have fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese
Must have a stable place of residence prepared
Must have a stable line of employment
Must not have been charged with a major crime in the past 10 years AND must not have any sexual offenses on record
Must display a working knowledge of the Tax Code, Education System and other Government works of Mexico-Brazilian Kingdom
Must have entered the nation under legal means through designated ports of entry in the territories of the Kingdom
Must have valid documentation of identity
Must not be awaiting to stand trial for crime or currently on probation for a crime

The Imperial Colonies of El Nuevo Mexico has itself been a nation of immigrants. The people of our lands came, and are currently arriving from the supreme patria of Mexico itself. Therfore, our nation is quite accepting of all immigrants from across the world.
For those immigrating from the homeland of Mexico itself, the onyl requirement is to be a born Mexican Imperial citizen. Social class does not matter, if you're a native Mexican, you're allowed in.
There is however, a 150 peso fee for port authorities, security etc. An addition 350 pesos are paid for transport in with escort from military ships from the fatherland.

For international immigrants:
Amnesty: Refugees are allowed in for a 2 month period, after background checks and medical examinations, before they decide if they wish to return to their nation, move to another, or stay in El Nuevo Mexico. If they stay, they are given 15 pesos, and allowed to live in state-run amnesty areas and work until they have enough to purchase a dwelling.

Immigrants seeking work: These people are allowed into the nation after background and medical checks and are then left alone.
El Nuevo Mexico widely has very lax immigration policies in general.

Being born in Yannia does not mean you automatically become a Yannian citizen, unless at least one of your parents is a Yannian citizen.

If you aren't a Yannian citizen, you can become a Yannian citizen by meeting the following criteria:
1: be able to speak, read & write Yannian proficiently,
2: have been living in Yannia for at least 6 years*,
3: pass a test on knowledge of Yannian customs,
4: not be a suspect of a crime.
*if you have been found guilty of committing a crime in Yannia (and have not been expelled due to it), the time in part 2 is counted from the moment you have fulfilled your debt to society.

you have to have been born there we don't like outsiders. There are legal means of living in A Fake Republic without being a citizen, this is very difficult and usually requires being in the good graces of Il Capo di Stato

To become a citizen via the normal route comes in two stages:

First a permanent residency visa (PRV) must be applied for to be accepted you must fulfill the following criteria:
1: Have a criminal record or history free of felony class crimes, and make a declaration that this is the case. (felonies are crimes judged as felonies according to our law, making a false declaration will result in the cancellation of the visa and deportation when the falsehood is discovered)
2: Have at least a high school level education, higher degrees of education will grant you an improved chance of gaining a PRV.
3: Have a contract to work for a Nician company upon acceptance of a visa.

To gain citizenship there are three routes that can be taken.

The normal and usual route requires that the applicant fulfills the following criteria:
1: Been a permanent resident for 10 uninterrupted years.
2: Have no felony class crimes on their Nician criminal record.
3: Pass a Latin fluency & literacy test. (moderate difficulty)

The second method is sometimes used and the resident must fulfill the following criteria.
1: Perform some great deed or service to the republic such as a major scientific discovery or distinguish oneself as a volunteer in battle to defend the republic.
Then citizenship will be granted by a special act of the legislature. This is the only route that dual citizenship can be granted by.

The final method is the least common route and works as follows:
1: Be rescued from slavery by a naval patrol vessel or customs ship or somehow make it to our territory under their own means whilst having proof they are an escaped slave.
2: Attend and graduate from a citizenship orientation center, and have all major mental and physical defects and control devices corrected or removed. The only way to fail this test is to be a spy sent to disrupt our society, the screening methods to detect spies trying to enter via this route are rigorous and include a full brain-recording session and analysis ((a copy of the engram of the person is made and examined). (engram - the "software" of the brain.)).

The curriculum of the citizenship orientation centers includes conversational Latin, basic Latin literacy. Basic mathematics and numeracy, Basic home economics, Self-esteem building, introductory history, and introductory social studies and civics classes. Upon graduation they are assigned a apartment in a residential area in an area where their skills will be of use to the republic and they are given a cash grant from the government and private charities. When they arrive in their new apartment block they are welcomed with a party and introduced to the community. A social worker from the department of family services and communities will visit them regularly to ensure that they are adjusting to a life as a freeman and provide appropriate assistance where required. These visits will be weekly at first but will gradually taper off over time.

We do not grant auto citizenship for all citizens born unless they can prove their ancestry going back at least one generation.

To become a citizen one must have entered in the nation legally at the national border. There you must obtain your Nation Card which gives you access to service for the Government. Then upon proving competency in the native languages of Soryanastan you will be given your 90-day Visa. In the 90 days you will find work, a place of residence and go to Immigration School. Immigration school teaches everything to how the country works and the geography and climate.
Upon completing school you must return to the Immigration Office to exchange your Visa for valid proof of citizenship. You must also prove you have met the requirements.

In the Adrian Empire citizenship is not hereditary, it is earned for every generation.

The Criteria For Individual Citizenship are as followed:
1. To commit to the Service of the Empire no less then 2 years in the Armed Forces, or three years in an approved civilian program such as the Imperial Pax Legion, or Civil Maintenance/Construction Service or comparable service
2. To remain a resident of the Empire (no more then a full year outside the Empire)
3. To be a morally upstanding individual (citizenship is revoked upon conviction of a crime)
4. To pay your taxes so long as they are just (Citizens may refuse to pay taxes equivalent to 1/4 of their income or more excluding consumption tax, in practice it is unnecessary as the federal government only levies consumption tax, and most polis would not dare impose an income or property tax for fear of armed reprisal)

The Criteria for Paterfamilias Citizenship (That is Citizenship that will apply to all People within the Family of the Citizen including spouses and children until their adulthood)
1. To commit to the Service of the Empire no less then four years in the Armed Forces, or five years in an approved civilian program such as the Imperial Pax Legion, or Civil Maintenance/Construction Service or comparable service

To be granted citizenship in the Grand Duchy the applicant must:

•Learn either French, German, Spanish, Italian, or English.
•Must pass a citizenship test covering Beneravian History, the Habanae Intentio, Politics, and Government.
•Must have resided within the country, legally, for at least 1 year.
•Have no warrants for arrests, or been convicted for any crime abroad, or have been convicted of any crime within Beneravia.
•Must have held down a job that pays minimum,(ß12/hour, or $12/hour), for at least 6 months.
•No connections to fundamentalist groups.
•Must renounce all ties from their home nation.

You can become a citizen by...

1: Applying

Applicants must be at least 18 (unless they have parents/guardians with them), have an IQ of at least 110, prove they're willing to contribute by having work for at least a year with no felonies on their record, must speak fluent English, German, or Italian, cannot have ties to any criminal or terrorist organization, must be mentally sound (including not being a Communist/Socialist/Anarchist), and must swear a Loyalty Oath.

2: Joining the Military

Self explanatory. Serving in the GWO military for 5 years will grant you citizenship, not to mention, earn you loads of respect back in the GWO.

3: GWO Refugee Program

The GWO offers to rescue people from lands devastated by civil wars, Democracy, Communism, Anarchy, natural disasters, or other blights. If you are rescued from a nation and live a year in the GWO and meet the requirements, upon swearing a Loyalty Oath, the government will automatically grant you citizenship.

4: Making a deal with the GWO Government

Soldiers of enemy militaries are offered citizenship, housing, and pardoning (unless they waive them) for them and their families if they surrender and cooperate with GWO military forces. They will be detained in a clean, far-from-the-front GWO military base for the remainder of the conflict, but when it ends, they will be permitted to return to their homes, or anywhere in the GWO, and once they swear a Loyalty Oath, they will be granted full citizenship and pardon for being an enemy combatant. However, they will be watched for a certain time.

5: Spire's Orders

The Spire can immediately grant someone citizenship for any purpose. Usually, if Leftist nations have a bounty on your head for crimes related to fighting their way of life, an order will be made to give you safe haven in the GWO.

Now that's just cruel. Forcing people to renounce all ties with there home nation-even their parents-is something that no nation should ever consider.

1) Prove their loyalty to the Emperor by performing three tasks, usually murder, self-mutilation, sacrificing a newborn infant to the gods etc.

3) Be approved by both the Emperor and the Archbishop of the Cult of Pahuus
