Postby Greatern Britain » Sun Jun 06, 2010 2:58 am

What political parties are in your nation? Do you have far-right, far-left, fascist, communist, democratic, whatever. What do you have and what are there aims if coming to power?

Here is mine.

Labour Party - Opposition party

- Return to the European Union.
- Multicultural funding.
- Immigration rules relaxed.
- Devolution towards Scotland and Wales.
- Talks to be held on Northern Ireland to be returned to the Republic of Ireland.

- Power to the people - less nationalised businesses.
- Tackling Radical Faiths.
- Armed forces better funded and equipped.
- Withdrawal from the European Union (complete)
- Education: smaller class sizes, more schools.
- Making the commonwealth a more united union (in progress)

Liberal Democrats - smaller party
- Power ultimately returned to the people.
- The Church of England to not be the national faith.
- British borders opened.
- Nuclear weapons to be destroyed.
- Independence to Scotland if the Scottish people will it.
- Racism to become a more punishable crime.

The British Christians - fourth largest party
- The church to have more power in the nations affairs.
- Return to the European Union but not as integrated as before.
- Stronger ties with all European nations.
- Tackling radical foreign faiths.
- Putting Christianity above all other religions.
- Tighter security on immigration and deportation of Illegal immigrants.

Government party - the Irish peoples party - Christian Conservatives intent on returning northern Ireland to Irish hands and to also involve Ireland in world affairs.

Opposition - The Social Democrats party - Socialists with democratic policies intent on entering the European Union and reforming the army to a stronger scale. Also wants to have the ability to construct nuclear weapons.

There are smaller parties but the two main ones above here have the only possible chance of winning.

Political Parties? Well last year there was a really good party for the Defense Minister's 50th Birthday, but it ended a little too soon. Good cake, though.

I hope that was a joke, cause that's not what it means. BTW, The Libertarian Party is the leading party, following the Domcrats and the Republicans.

There are no such Parties in New Amerik. It was the idiocy of the people that destroyed America, and New Amerik shall not make the same mistake. Much like Nazism, Democracy is a doomed ideal, no matter how much Japan or Africa think it works.

Kharan-Minaya - Originated as collaborators with the Riipubliik occupation, presently support peaceful to friendly relations with the Riipubliik as stated official party line. Chief support from Jantrek Clan.

The Government of Skegnezz is dominated by the Liberal Socialist Party, which currently holds more than four fifths of all Parliamentary seats. We operate a proportional representation system, and as such the 317 seats across our 88 regions are divided up as follows:-

LIBERAL SOCIALIST PARTY - 269 (84.8%)
- Believes in the highest levels of civil freedom
- Nationalisation of all public utilities and services
- Regulates large corporations almost into oblivion
- Encourages small independent businesses
- Housing4All policy ensures no citizen goes homeless
- Promotes equality across race, religion, gender, species etc
- Installs a third tap in every kitchen sink, dispensing beer

UNEXPECTED ITEM IN THE BAGGING AREA COALITION (UBAC) - 22 (6.9%)
- Represents big business, encourages privatisation
- Opposed to immigration
- Wants to raise the voting age from 15 to 21

BAN X-FACTOR PARTY - 21 (6.6%)
- Single-issue party opposed to the screening of X-Factor on TV
- Wants it replaced with more news and wildlife documentaries

DEMOCRATIC AI PARTY - 4 (1.2%)
- Run by androids
- Wants to abolish Government and have every decision made by referendum

FARMERS UNION - 1 (0.3%)
- Sole representative in Parliament is an adult female chicken who was fielded as a candidate in a publicity stunt by the Farmers Union, and who was subsequently elected to office. Though her vote on all issues is officially counted as 'Abstain', her ovulations do provide a delicious scrambled egg breakfast for the other Parliamentary representatives.

POLITICAL PARTIES

CONSERVATIVE PARTY
Spectrum: Right

The Conservative Party was formed during the split in the Chancellorate and was the ruling party in the Provincial Chancellorate, and is, as such, the oldest party in the Electorate. It advocates traditionalism and personal rights; they fight for stability and oppose reformism and modernism. The Conservative Party is also the main opponent of Urcean Communism, or Contism, and readily advocates for its suppression. Other than that, the Conservative Party is also a supporter of moderate libertarianism. The Party does, however, support the Monarchy (mostly).

JULIAN PARTY
Spectrum: Far Right

The Julian Party is made up of former Royalists and other factions supporting the Monarch. The Julian Party is considered radical conservativism and traditionalism; it supports centralization of the powers of the Monarch, almost until about absolutism. It preaches, however, fiscal conservatism and laissez faire economics.

MOUNTAIN PARTY
Spectrum: Center-right

The Mountain Party is similar to the Conservative Party in most of its ideologies, but the Mountain Party is mainly made up of Neanderthal man, and supports traditional Neanderthal ideas. It pushes advancement of civil rights, particularly for the Neanderthal minority, and supports nationalization of the mining industry. The Mountain Party supports the idea of a massive standing army and re-introduction of the draft.

MAZZIST PARTY
Spectrum: Far Right

The Mazzist Party is a remnant of those who were loyal to Chancellor Roberto Mazzi during the civil war. It is classified as fascist, demanding absolute loyalty to the state and declaring the Electorate, or the Chancellor in particular, is the embodiment of the state. It is extremely anti-monarchist, and has been almost disbanded by force three times in the young history of the United Imperium. It supports mostly laissez faire economics aside from arms production industries. Mazzists can often be found in scuffles with Contists in the streets and bars.

SOCIAL REPUBLICAN PARTY
Spectrum: Center-Left

The Social Republican Party is a rather messy unification of the former Social Democratic and Republican Parties. The viewpoints of the party vary, but they mostly agree on one thing - reformation. The Social Republicans seek to reform the nation into a parliamentary democracy and centralize power on the Electorate rather than the Emperor. The Social Republicans, however, do advocate keeping the Throne; it is just Urcean tradition as well as a good morale figure for the people to rally around. Unlike most Constitutional Monarchies, however, where the Throne is ceremonial, the "new Throne" as Social Republicans deem it would be the Supreme head of the military. Other than that, the Social Republicans, because of the party's background, have varied views; some support the former Republican Party's fiscal conservatism, while former Social Democrats advocate for stricter policies. They are, however, all vehemently opposed to Contism and often find themselves aligning with Julians and Conservatives against the Contists.

CONTIST PARTY
Spectrum: Far Left

The Contist Party is the Urcean Communist Party following the ideologies of founder, Fernando Conti. It advocates "socialism in one country", and also can be described as "red fascism". In Contism, the government is given absolute power to form a communist state within Urcea. The government then uses the nation's large military and will spread communism around the world, but only after the Urcean Communist State is formed and secure. This idea is meant to glorify Urcea and, as such, asks for absolute loyalty to the state, as Urcea is to be the champion of Communism.

In the House of Commons, the Conservative and Monarchist Party dominates with 60% of seats. However, in the House of Lords, the Conservative and Monarchist Party has just 48% of the seats. This means that although the Conservatives are in power, they are in minority in the House of Lords. This makes legislation difficult to pass in the Lords, although the Referenda Act means that any bills blocked by the Lords more than three times must be taken to Referendum or dropped. Dungeyland uses FTPT, and the 638 House of Commons seats and the 438 House of Lords seats across Dungeyland's 14 states are divided as follows:

THE CONSERVATIVE AND MONARCHIST PARTY
House of Commons - 377 (59.9%)
House of Lords - 208 (47.5%)

-Believes in Thatcherist Economics
-Tackling Radicalism
-Greater Integration with Dangish Empire
-Strong Support for the Monarchy
-Grammar Education with small classes
-Strong Universal Health Care
-Strict Immigration Laws

THE LIBERAL DEMOCRAT PARTY
House of Commons - 207 (32.4%)
House of Lords - 204 (46.6%)

-Strong Environmental Backing
-Opening of Borders to Immigration
-Destruction of Nuclear Weapons
-Distancing from the Dangish Empire
-Positive Discrimination
-End to tuition fees
-Third Way Economics
-Comprehensive Education
-More Referenda
-Political Reform

THE DANGISH UNIONIST PARTY
House of Commons - 48 (7.5%)
House of Lords - 26 (5.9%)

-Tackling Radicalism
-Strict Immigration Laws
-Dissociate from New Earth
-End abuse of Asylum System
-Locally elected Police Chiefs
-Scrap the Human Rights Act
-Integrate more with Dangish Empire

THE CO-OPERATIVE PARTY
House of Commons - 2 (0.3%)
House of Lords - 1 (0.2%)

-Nationalization of key public services
-Opposition to privatization, and any fees
-Raising the Minimum Wage to я£4.52 (£7.80)
-An increase in Income Tax on Wealthier People
-Greater Trade Union Power
-Defence of the rights of Asylum Seekers and Immigrants
-Support for Environmental Movements

These are all the parties that have a presence in the Houses of Parliament. There are a few other parties, but they are insignificant at best.

Democratic-Republican Party By far the largest and most popular party within the nation the Democratic-Republican Party has stated a basis for social moderates, economic conservatives and libertarians alike. The party has set it's base in Laissez-Faire economic market, a policy of social moderation and non-intrusion upon the citizenry. According to many reports done by Politically related Universities the party has set a policy of small government, low taxes - including being the first party credited to successfully repeal the income tax and moderate intervention in world affairs. Also well-known in the party's platform is it's strict constitutionalist stature in which adherence to the Federal Constitution is believed a cornerstone of successful management of the nation. The Democratic-Republican Party is perhaps best-known for it's immense and long-standing rivalry with the Federalist Party as both have been the two dominate political forces since the birth of Ostronopolian Republicanism. Currently the Democratic-Republicans hold a very large majority in the Federal Council and Federal Executive Cabinet.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Laissez-Faire Economy; Very Limited-Regulations on a Mixed Capitalist Economy.
Social: Social Moderation; Strict Adherence To Civil Liberties In Most Matters
Tax: Limited Taxation At Federal Level; Flat Taxes At State and Municipal Level
Constitution: Strict Adherence To Constitution; Limited Change Depending On Political, Social or Economic Situation
Global: Economic Globalization; National Interests Promoted

***

Number of Seats: 282/500

Federalist Party The largest political party after that of the Democratic-Republican Party, the Federalist Party has long had the basis of social conservatism, economic and political libertarian-nationalism - a unique blend by that of the Federalists and avocation for a Mixed-Economic Capitalism system with protectionism for local industry. Federalists are also known for their commitment to limited government supply for social programs including welfare, water and health care. The Federalist Party is widely-known for it's commitment to non-interventionism and a hope for peaceable diplomatic relations with nearly every state in the world. Perhaps like the Democratic-Republicans, this party is known for it's immense and long-standing rivalry with the other dominate political force. The party holds a large number of seats within the Federal Council.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Mixed Capitalist Economy
Social: Social Conservatism
Tax: Tax Bracket System Based Upon Income
Constitution: Strict Adherence To Constitution; Limited Change Depending On Political, Social or Economic Situation
Global: Nationalist Protection of National Interests and Industry

***

Number of Seats:102/500

Democratic Unionist Party The Democratic Unionist Party has been named the Ostronopolian 'Conservative Wing' due to their staunch neoconservative and classically conservative policies including tight immigration reform, large increases in military spending, free-market capitalism and protectionism or military intervention when it suits the national interest. The third largest of the ten major political parties, the Democratic-Unionists have held a large number of seats in the Federal Council and at local levels. Although generally never exceeding third largest in size, the Party has seen recent spikes in popularity possibly as a result of further political interest among the populous. Currently the Democratic-Unionists control the Presidency.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Very Limited-Regulations on a Mixed Capitalist Economy.
Social: Social Conservatism
Tax: Limited Taxation At Federal Level; Flat Taxes At State and Municipal Level
Constitution: Strict Adherence To Constitution
Global: Economic Protectionism When Deemed Necessary

***

Number of Seats: 101/500

Libertarian Party The Fourth Largest, and perhaps most unique of the four "great parties" as they have been nicknamed, the Libertarian platform is marked as wanting little government, little regulation and little protectionism on foreign goods, as well as non-interventionism. Libertarians are known to believe in strict adherence to the Federal rights bills and a belief of allowing the government to expand upon the constitution's meaning to add more protection to civil liberties. Libertarians are known to side with the Democratic-Unionists on most economic issues as the two parties beliefs coincide largely - the largest difference being the issue of protectionism. The party currently holds a number of seats in the Federal Council and at local levels and has seen a steady popularity trend.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Laissez-Faire Economy
Social: Social Libertarianism
Tax: Abolition of Most Direct Forms of Taxation
Constitution: Rapid Change In Favor of Civil Liberties; Little To No Change In Possibility of Negative Effect To Civil Liberties
Global: Economic Globalization

***

Number of Seats: 12/500

United Liberal Front The United Liberal Front is one of the more economically and socially center parties in the nation. Though still drifting into the left, the Front has gained slight popularity in recent years with the more radical approach to issues political parties such as the Democratic Unionists have taken. The party is based upon the ideals of progressive change The Liberal Front is the largest liberal, and fifth largest party in the nation. It has firmly grasped Dakoda under it's control for the past decade - leaving the state as it's only major political stronghold, however it continues to fail in the ability to receive large representation in the Federal Council and municipal governments in other states.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Regulated Mixed Capitalist Economy
Social: Social Liberalism
Tax: Progressive Taxation
Constitution: Changing "Living" Constitution
Global: Economic Protectionism

Socialist Party By large the furthest left of all major political parties, the Socialist Party has become a larger political force in municipal governments scattered throughout the nation. The Socialist party is based upon the socialization of all major industry with limited free and or private enterprise or property. The Ostronopolian Socialist Party is perhaps one of the 'more right' socialist parties internationally. While certainly remaining far-left, the nation's Socialist Party's main platforms advocate limited private party, limited progressive taxation and military non-intervention. The Socialist Party holds little compared to the five greater, further right parties.
Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Heavily Regulated Planned Economy
Social: Social Liberalism
Tax: Limited Progressive Taxation
Constitution: Changing "Living" Constitution
Global: Internationalism

***

Number of Seats: 3/500

Monarchist Party The seventh largest and one of the most radical in the want for rapid change in type and structure of the Federal Government, the Monarchist party is known for it's strict social classical-conservatism and economic center-rightism. Monarchists have long wished to reestablish the old Xzarian-style absolutist constitutional monarchy. The party often advocates a strong authoritative position with slight libertarian tendencies. It's main platforms include Social conservatism, limited taxation based upon a bracket system, and military intervention and expansionism. Currently, the party holds a small minority in the Federal Council with very few towns or any such municipalities under it's political influence.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Regulated Mixed Capitalist Economy
Social: Social Conservatism
Tax: Limited Bracket-Based Taxation
Constitution: Rapid Change To Constitution In Favor Of Monarchist System
Global: Economic Nationalism

***

Number of Seats: 0/500

Worker's Party Indeed the eighth largest party in the Federal Republic, the Worker's Party is based upon the ideals of social leftist authoritarianism and heavy economic regulation. The party favors strong social control, and eradication of ideals it deems 'anti-proletarian.' Further, the Worker's Party has been heavily criticized during the last decade due to its ideals and beliefs deemed to be 'extremist' by other, larger parties. Currently, the party holds no known municipal, state or federal representative seats, however surfaces often during elections, despite being among the smallest 'big ten' parties in the nation.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Heavily Regulated Planned Economy
Social: Social Authoritarianism
Tax: Heavy Progressive Taxation
Constitution: Changing The Constitution To "Be More Proletarian-Friendly"
Global: Economic Isolationism

***

Number of Seats: 0/500

Expansionist Party The ninth largest political party in the Union, the Expansionist political platform is noted as being one designed to facilitate economic, social, culturally and political imperialism through the implementation of an 'Ostronopolian democratic empire.' Expansionists are often advocates of advanced economic regulation to ensure that the industry is designed to work towards the militarist interests of Expansionists. The party is considered by many to be unorthodox and undeserving. Currently, the party holds no known political offices.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Planned Militarist Economic Corporatism
Social: Social Authoritarianism
Tax: Tax-Bracket System Base Upon Income
Constitution: Strict Adherence To Constitution; Limited Change Depending On Political, Social or Economic Situation
Global: Imperialism Socially, Culturally, Politically And Militarily

***

Number of Seats: 0/500

Fascist-National Party Often spurned due to its far-rightist stance and pro-Nazism sentiments, the Fascist-National Party is the smallest of the major ten political parties. Fascist-Nationals advocate strict militarism, social and economic authoritarianism and third-way economics. Also on the party's stated agenda is international interventionism and imperialism to facilitate the belief in "Enlightenment of Fascism," and the exportation of such. Currently the party's membership and participation in elections is limited. It also controls no political standings and or political offices.

Breakdown of Beliefs on Political Issues :
Economy: Planned Militarist Economic Corporatism
Social: Social Authoritarianism
Tax: Tax-Bracket System Base Upon Income
Constitution: Rapid Change To Facilitate Fascist Political Ideologies
Global: Imperialism Socially, Culturally, Politically And Militarily

Dammed Marxists running about buggering sheep, and other such mischief. We really must do something about that.

The two major parties are: Páirtithe Sóisialta, the left leaning Social Party focused on unionism and fair rights for workers and Aontas Cónaidhme- the Federal Union, a more right wing party.

Political parties are abolished in the Republic of Quadrimmina. Instead, the Ministry of Government Affairs is responsible for creating a survey that will score the opinions of a person on numerous political attributes by contracting a private polling authority, such scores will be on the ballot on election day.
Sincerely,
Alexandra Kerrigan, Ambassador to the World Assembly from the Republic of Quadrimmina.

There are no major political parties in Augarundus that put forth candidates for office.

There is ONE political party, but it no longer has authority. The Communist Party of Augarundus has been considered a terrorist organization since 2008.

Capitalism is always the answer. Whenever there's a problem in capitalism, you just need some more capitalism. If the solution isn't capitalism, then it's not really a problem. If your capitalism gets damaged, you just need to throw some capitalism on it and get on with your life.

The three seats behind the Speaker in both chambers represent the non-voting party leaders, who are not allowed to run for Congress, but they are allowed to watch over all of the debates. In Congress, the Speaker from the majority Party/Coalition get's his or her seat in the middle, behind them is the party leader from the party with the most seats in Congress, and to his or her left and right are the next two largest parties in Congress. The only difference in the Senate is that the Deputy Party leaders get the seats behind the Speaker of the Senate.

Fire Elemental Equality Party: Originally created when we didnt know that living fire was sentient. Now that they have equal rights they are becoming more of a "Fire Elemental Superiority Party".

Non-Sapient Rights Party: They are the ruling party, about 70% of our citizens side with them. Our current leader sides with them. They believe that there should be equality for non-sapient creatures such as slugs and hippos.

Libertarian Party: They believe in the opposite of what the Authoritarian Party believes

Tribal Anti-Civilization Party: They believe that the government should ban all technology altogether and split everyone into small tribes to become hunter-gatherers.

Capitalist Partytm: They believe we should allow more economic freedoms than we do.

Lobster Superiority Party: They believe we should evict all non-lobster citizens from our nation.

Authoritarian Party: They believe our government should take more control over our citizens.

Note from a Lobster (leader) : The order of listing has nothing to do with bias and is completely random.

Since the Glorious Coup D'etat of 1987, the Khatyn Islamic-Fascist Party is the only party in all of Khatynistan. Prior to the coup, the major parties were the "Khatyn Conservative Party" and "Khatyn People's Socialist Party", who were in a constant struggle for power. The great takeover of the nation by the glorious fascist party put an end to political conflict and united the Khatyni peoples.

The flag of our great party:

In our language, the party would be called "Khatiyihn Islamik-Fasciszol Partiyov"
