ISSUE 15MONDAY October 16, 2013VOLUME XXVPresident Creates New Cabinet-Level Position
Mrs. Emma van Hollen, the first US Secretary of Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation
WRITTEN BY:
Alexander McKinley, Editor-in-Chief
During a special press conference at President's Hall, this morning, Press Secretary Kelly Witherspoon announced that the President had signed the Official documents to establish the new cabinet-level position of Secretary of Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation. Witherspoon also announced that President Roosevelt has nominated Emma van Hollen to become the person to have this job.
By creating this new Office the President started one of the largest reorganization in the federal government since the Department of Defense was created via the National Security Act of 1947. The position of US Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade will be abolished and the duties/responsabilities will be transfered to the Office of the new Secretary. However no new Department will be established. The post of Secretary of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation has been established at the Department of State. This confirms the importance of cohesion between those two policy areas. Future measures will enlarge the scope for small and medium-sized enterprises to invest in developing countries, and the forging of new coalitions between companies, NGOs and individuals, such as the coalition combating HIV/AIDS.
A revolving fund of ƒ1 billion financed in the years 2014-2016 from the development cooperation budget also reflects the closer connection between foreign trade and development cooperation. Established in collaboration with the business community, this fund will support investments in developing countries, especially by small and medium-sized enterprises. Another fund of ƒ250 million will be established for international security will be set up as a permanent budget to promote peace and crisis management operations for developing countries.
Nominated to become the first Secretary of Foreign Trade & Development Cooperation is Emma van Hollen. Prior to her nomination van Hollen was the administrator of USAID, one of the agencies she will also head as Secretary. Emma van Hollen is a member of the Democratic Party and was a US Member of the House of Representatives for five years before she was asked to serve as USAID Administrator. She is considered to be a good friend of President Roosevelt. It will, however, be up to the Senate wheter they will confirm his nomination or not. Hearings start tommorow and we expect a vote at the end of the week. When appointed Administrator for USAID she was confirmed with a unanimous vote.

The KK Paramilitary agents, the Asigna government paramilitary agents had been ordered to execute the recently passed "Marcos decree", ordering that all infrastructure that will be deemed usable by the enemy will be destroyed. By 3:45 AM, Nearly all of the city is set on fire by repeated raids by flame throwing tanks believed to be belonging to that of the Asigna 6th Armored regimen. It is still unknown how many Chinese casualties are there present in the burning of the city. Until now, latest updates show the fire has not yet been put out in any way. As we, the media team writes this, we have witnessed several fire fighters but all they do is watch the city burn.
Taiwan is territory that had been annexed after the all-out invasion of Asigna Philippines on its territory. The nation of Zhouran attempted to oppose the invasion but little was done militarily, causing the fall of the Republic of China government.

Exclusive with CEO of Sky High Architecture. Tom Kerboss, Chief Editor Here we post an exclusive interview between Chief Editor, Business Khantari, Tom Kerboss together with CEO of Sky High Architecture. Sky High Architecture is an architectural design of distinguished experts in the world and received many requests and orders. We are proud to be able to share information and views presented in detail by their CEO. What are the main ingredients for an effective leader? There are several things that make someone an effective leader. One is listening to the needs of the customers or the people that you represent. Without this, you cannot say you are a good leader: the people who depend on you, rely on you have not had a say or input, and to make the right decisions you need to listen to your managers, the people under you and your customers. Also, you need to have respect for others. It is because of this respect for those who are poorer than us that we are giving at least 5% of our profits to charity. Without respect, you have nothing. You also need to have a vision, a plan for the future. You need to know what to do and have a plan for things that might go wrong, because they will. And you need to be able to implement that plan, that vision. An effective leader respects others and their input, and has a vision and implements it well. Without these, the power entrusted in a leader is all for naught: there is nothing they can do to help the world. What is the role of humility in leadership? People will not like you or trust you if you are not humble. If you come across to them as a lofty bigwig, you aren't going to connect with the people that you need the most. Leadership does not work without people to lead: if people do not have confidence in you because you are not humble, then there is no point in leadership because they cannot trust you to lead. Do you believe you are being courageous by pushing the boundaries of business and sustainability? There are no boundaries between business and sustainability. Business cannot exist without sustainability. One day, the resources on this Earth on which we rely on will run out. That's unavoidable. What is avoidable is a big impact on the next generation and how they can use the resources that they have left. By being sustainable, we lessen the burden on their shoulders. We can be courageous in this stand, as others may not follow our lead at first. It takes courage to go on a path that others might not go on. It takes courage to lead, but not courage to follow, and we need to lead in this field. That's why we have been leading. The world needs it. How important is transparency in driving change? People need to know what is going on in the world. If they are fearful that something is going wrong, then they will not trust the government because they will not know if what they are saying is true. One of the points I keep refering back to is trust. If people cannot trust what you are doing, they will not support it. If people do not support change, then change will not occur. Of course, all this also applies to business. How important is it that leaders can work with uncertainty? Uncertainty is certain. You need to learn to make a plan when, not if, something goes wrong. That's the way we have approached it at Sky High: there is always a Plan B for expansion, and most times even a Plan C. Without these plans, we might not have gotten as far as we have gotten today. Dealing with this uncertainty is paramount, one of the most important skills someone can learn. How do you stop yourself from getting overwhelmed by the problems facing the world? It takes patience. That's really something that's been hard for me over the years, but I have learned to be patient and just deal with things as they happen. Of course, I can't respond to everything. That's how I think about it- I should focus on the problems that I care most about. I can make a difference that way- I can't if I try and do everything at once. |

LNNLeanore City Gets Some Upgrades
With The Commonwealth of Leanore edging closer and closer to bettering our technologies, the Commonwealth Officials thought it was time to upgrade Leanore City, and other cities around the Commonwealth. These upgrades will be everywhere, changing our daily lives as we know it, from traffic lights, to bicycles, to the way we use the train.
One of the amazing new technological designs is the Land Airbus, something coming to Leanore City TODAY.
the Land Airbus – a giant car-swallowing bus that could actually hit the streets of Leanore's cities. The vehicle is longer than previous versions, it can bend around corners, and it travels along rails to enable smaller vehicles to pass underneath. This innovative urban transportation solution has a high-tech interior that is entered via a glass elevator that drops down at air lift stations. While passengers are getting on and off the vehicle, there is no hold up in traffic – cars just keep going under the Land Airbus.
Compared to Metro, the new public transportation vehicle would cost less, have a shorter construction period and almost match passenger capacity. It is an economical and safe way of commuting that eliminates spending hours stuck in traffic.
While building and creating Land Airbus Fleets may cost billions of dollars, Commonwealth officials are saying that the money may come out of the DoD (Department of Defense) Budget, and others are saying that it will come out of the DoT (Department of Transportation) budget.
More innovations and technological advances will soon come to Leanore City. Officials are saying it could only be a matter of days before the changes are set in place for the citizens. All innovations are meant to better everyone's lives.

Socialist K'oyenaLocal Elections Approach K'oyena
It has been four years since last local elections in K'oyena, and it is time for the people of K'oyena to choose who will be mayor in their cities, towns and villages. Prime-minister Landolfo Tommasi described this as an oppurtunity to demonstrate the close link between the Communist Party and the k'oyenese public.
Several prominent mayors will not be running for reelection. This includes the mayors of Katxkahúyya, Pwerto, Palatx'i and Wiñanúñatukuykodje. Seferino Yanola, the mayor of Katxkahúyya since 2009, will be returning to a simpler job in the Ministry of Finance and Price Control.
