About Cheirol
Cheirol, or the United Kingdom of Cheirol, is a constitutional monarchy, with a parlimentary system, located on an island chain off the northern coast of the mainland of the Continent of Ibica. Cheirol comes from a history of colonization, but in 1750, was peacefully granted Independence from The United States of Ibica after a popular movement lead by who would then become King Renaud I. Renaud I was a decendent of the Cartier royal family, the rulers of Cheirol's original, kinder colonizers.
Cheirol is home to 33 million people, bordered by the Cortesia Ocean to the east, the Bay of Albion to the south and west, and the Arctic Ocean to the north, with the island province of Saint Emile being bisected by the Acrtic Circle. Cheirol hosts a diverse, prosperous modern economy, and prides itself on our use of renewable energy, nearly 90% of the energy market. To protect this, the Cheirol Armed Forces operates a smaller, but advanced and efficient military, as well as strong ties with our neighbors.
Astrid II is the current Queen, and Dewey Petit of the Labor Party is the current Prime Minister. The Department of State, which oversees all foreign affairs, is lead by Secretary of State Armand Penner.
Due to our early history of settlement and colonization by Cartier, Cheirol has a large French language influence, though today, the vast majority of the population only speaks English, and French is largely just found in names. Read more here.
