[Tangatarehua]

March 8th, 1980:

The current constitution of Tangatarehua is ratified by Te Whare o Tangata [Parliament], legally bringing it into force.

However technically it didn't come into force until 1982 as Tangatarehua remained under occupation by foreign troops who refused to hand control of the country back over to the domestic government until then.

On the 8th of March 1300, Gwen Lách of the Tribe of Galway and her force of around five hundred cavalrymen on their way to relieve Cuan during the Siege (part of the wider historical complex known as the Crusade) attack a Christian forward base near Talamh.
In the Battle near Áth House, the Selkie Force manages to torch the small fortification in the night, slaughters the fleeing Christians to the man and thus manages to get one step closer to Cuan.
Lách's force would arrive on the 20th, lift the siege until the 29th (defeating the Christian Force in detail). While the destroyed fort would be discovered by a Christian patrol on the 12th, news of that would not arrive at Cuan until the 24th.
Lifting the siege would prove to be the first step in the establishment of Gwen as a heroic figure of the Selkie, as well as a leading figure during the counter-offensive. Due to her age at the time, around fifteen Springs, she has often been compared by international historians with Jeanne d'Arc (thus also giving rise to her nickname of "the Jeanne d'Arc of the Selkie", despite her fighting Christians, not for them).

The Battle of Derecho Point has concluded with a decisive Golynan victory over the Stalarinist rebels. An unknown number of rebel fighters died in the battle, along with 87 Golynan soldiers. Just 11 days later, the rebel capital of Water Haven would be captured, ending the war for good. This battle would result in major issues in politics, dividing along regional lines rather than party lines.

The Sormet Islands, a nation near Kharakia (and bordering West Kharakia) suddenly disappeared of the face of the planet. The island it shared a border with West Kharakia on was cut in half, with the Sormet Islander half vanishing. On this day in 11th March 1993, the Sarawak Darulhana announced the discovery of an old tomb in a forest area near the intersection of Jalan Damai, Santubong, Kuching. The tomb is the tomb of the first Sultan of Sarawak before Brunei Occupation. According to historians, the tomb is estimated to be over 363 years old and believed to belong to Pengiran Muda Tengah Ibnu Sultan Muhamad, the second son of the 9th Sultan of Brunei, namely Sultan Muhamad Hassan. Pengiran Muda Tengah often changed names or titles such as Sultan Ibrahim Ali Omar Shah and Muhammad Saifuddin. His Majesty's death was caused by the actions of his own hulubalang who stabbed him with a spear while he was resting at Batu Buaya, . The discovery of the tomb, became a great success in increasing the historical resources in Sarawak.

15 March 1996 - Murder of Jon Keyes Western

Jon Keyes Western was a world-famous actor famous for his roles in Nevada, Wheedle on the Needle, and Kuril-Kamchatka, regarded as one of the most well-known actors in the film industry. However, in his later years, be became a target for his radical leftist views, and his support for Civil Rights and LGBTQ+ Rights. This came to him on 15 March, 1996 on 4:50 PM where after driving home from his birthday a day prior, several gunshots came from the left window of his 1985 Audi Quattro, before an 1980 Chevrolet Impala rammed into the side of his car. With the commotion, when the paramedics came, Keyes was unconscious and was able to live for another 3 hours where he was pronounced dead at 7:53 PM. Their killers, brothers Arthur Needs and Eric Needs were arrested 3 days later and sentenced to 30 years in prison.
