[Gardelrya]

May 19th, 1938
Crown Prince Halfdan was assassinated by republican extremists while dedicating a newly constructed train station in downtown Limmiera. His death sparked a number of anti-extremist crackdowns and arrests commonly known as the Clemensan Raids, named after then Chief of the Oskargard Metropolitan Police, Vincent Clemensan. However in later years, scholars have criticized the raids for their violent tactics, and for largely targeting minority communities. The Oskargard Met and wider Gardelryan Government has not officially addressed these claims.

May 19th, 1974
In a 6-2 win over Vennesberg United in the KH4 Cup quarter-final, Harald Kistner scored his first hat-trick for his new club, Rega Oskargard. Rega Oskargard would later win the Cup, with Kistner being their top scorer. Kistner would then forge an incredible legacy, which includes six Kongensliga titles, four King Halfdan IV Cups, two Ballon D'Ors, and one World Cup. Many today still consider Kistner to be the greatest Gardelryan football player ever. Unfortunately, his career was cut short when he tragically died in an airplane crash in 1983, he was 32.

May 25th 2004 dies Pepa Colomer i Luque 1913-2004 Creu Sant Jordi (the highest civilian condecoration). The first catalan woman to have an pilot license (1931) and be airline pilot. Sabadell Airport is named after her.
During WW2 She went to exile and Joined the Free Catalan Forces. In the UK and spent her time training Free Catalan and Commowealth pilots in Canada receiving a brevet promotion to Squadron leader.
Her husband commanded RAF 348th (free Catalan) Squadron and had a long career in the Força Aèria de la República Catalana (Catalan Republic Air Force) post war.

The goverment statated that three trains for civilian transport will be imported from...Janpia" (For some reason the pony newscaster hed trouble reading the name)

December 16, 2022 Suuri gains independence from Estonia! The country appeared on the maps at midnight and appeared at the UN. Suuri held a referendum on independence. His results surprised the whole world, more than 70% for independence! A long work has passed and our nation, located on the island of Saaremaa, is free! The most important thing is that we gained independence without war and blood, but peacefully!

May 28, 1995: one of Eclius' oldest defense technology companies, Emmerson & Stahl, was acquired by (then) emerging tech company Pantheon Group at 80 billion Denarii (This was the most expensive corporate acquisition until NetTek Group was acquired by Lumen Robotics in 2015 at 150 billion Denarii.). This day is celebrated all over the People's Republic, and a popular game is tearing printed-out papers of Inskia's face to shreds.

The 7th reigning king of the Crimson Isles, King Michael II, is found dead in the King's Office in the Trenton High Tower in Trentonsburg, Crimsonia. Cause of Death is determined to be Hemorrhaging in the Brain. He was 59.

May 28, 1943 - End of the Battle of Santa Marie. The battle lasted for 3 months, until the US Army, with help and supported by Mexican, Brazilian and Colombian Forces push out all Cascadian soldiers out of the Santa Marie Area. 450,000 casualties were recorded in the battle, 225,000 Cascadian Casualties, 175,000 Allied Casualties, mostly Mexican and Colombian, and 50,000 Civilian Casualties, and 23% of all buildings in the city were destroyed or irreparably damaged, with 47% of all buildings being damaged or destroyed.

May 28, 1970 - Mickey Jones, songwriter and lead singer of the popular rock band The Wave Boys, released the triple album The Wave Boys presents: Native Sounds. The album contained field recordings of songs, nasheeds, and acapellas by Southland's indigenous groups. While initially resisted by Jones's record label, causing him to famously make a deal saying that if the album bombed he would relinquish all his royalties for five years, it quickly a bestseller on release. The most famous song on there was "Rorogwela", in which a mother sings to her newborn about how he should not feel alone because the spirits of his ancestors will always watch him, becoming a standard lullaby in the country. This album's release, alongside the Oyghan people's successful campaign against nuclear weapons the year prior, kicked off a nationwide interest in indigenous cultures and art for the subsequent decade, causing the 1970s to be dubbed "The Indigenous Decade". Native Sounds would later have the honor of being one of the first albums to be selected by the Southland National Library for preservation for being "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant."

1833 - Andrew Jackson became the first foreign president to visit the Commonwealth. He vows to never return. He kept his word.

1846 - The Young Men's Christian Orthodox Church of the Pioneer, Presbyterian Association was formed. (It's fun to stay at the YMCOCPPA).

1882 - The first electric curling iron was patented by C. K. Mulligan whose defective product set hair on fire worldwide.

1890 - Amid the Sparks Revolutionary Riots in the Gridiron District, The Narland Sports Association was formed.

1904 - The first "National Burn Your Corset Day," organized by the Intemperate Woman's Order of the Battle-Axe Union was celebrated on this day in the Heatherbrook Commons. Corsets are now a thing of the past.

1924 - The German Confederation, and the Federation of Central Europe agreed to let the Commonwealth settle their disputes with acclaimed diplomat Lemuel H. Richards-Soaring Eagle over war reparations in Bern. This led to the reworking of the Treaty of Versailles into a more moderate version through the League of Extraordinary Nations. Germany still embittered will start the Second Great War as the International Union of Socialist Germany in 1933.

1925 - Digby Motors (later to become Amalgamated Motor Concern) founded by Phineas Balder Digby. The millionaire dilettante is best known for foiling a crime while on the way to a costume party dressed as a fruit bat. Legends of the Fruitbatman, vigilante of the night persist to this day.

1932 - The first National poll tax of 1 penny (the then equivalent of an hours mean labor) was levied on the member States of the commonwealth. It was so unpopular that pennies were melted down into buckshot and used against State Revenuers trying to collect. Three members of Parliament whose votes were crucial to the passage were eventually defenestrated.

1933 - In Momhetuakek, Omana the first rocket with the capability to launch a squirrel across the continent unharmed was successful. The squirrel was none too happy.

1936 - The first demonstration of workable flying cars for consumer use shown at Kilkenny Air Field by Gofar Motor Group forever changing the shape of Narland's roadways. Death from falling from the sky is so pervasive that only the rich can afford the insurance.

1953 - Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay reached the top of Mount Everest. Really.

1961 - The first Narland Astronaut, Kirby Leigh Armbuster and the trained chimp "Skippy" reach orbit around the moon circling 3 times before successfully returning to earth

1990 - Boris Yeltsin was elected Prime Minister of the hermit State of Rus.

1997 - Uplifting technology is banned throughout the Commonwealth after a failed uplift of a homicidal gorilla. Grogg broke out of Fort Krang armed with grenades, a 50 caliber, and a missile launcher, escaping in a Humvee. Casualties included General Hazzard, his entire entourage and 30 scientists. Gorilla Grogg is still at large.

1999 - Lagrange International Station opened to civilian traffic.

2010 - The Commonwealth passes sweeping financial and banking reform, returning back to hard currency and honest banking. 1500 bankers, financiers, and bureaucrats are arrested and eventually incarcerated. Narland currency is once again as good as gold, platinum, and plutonium.

May 30th

1996 - the Kuvandan Civil War ends after two years. It was sparked in 1994 by the then-ongoing civil war and genocide in neighboring Rwanda. A Hutu-majority nation, Kuvanda was, at the start of the war, under the control of a Tutsi-dominated government. A rebellion was undertaken by mutineering troops and Hutu militants, who formed the United Democratic Forces. On May 30th, government forces surrendered their last area of control, Banda City, in exchange for their lives. However, this did not stop poorly-disciplined rebel soldiers from executing surrendering government soldiers and police officers en masse. By the end of the day, up to 2500 disarmed government troops had been summarily executed, with many of their bodies being dumped into Lake Tanganyika.

2000 - the President Niyezema International Airport opens. Banda International Airport, formally named President Niyezema Banda International Airport, opens. The complex is made up of one passenger terminal with five air bridges, as well as another 18 stands for aircraft. A freight terminal is also revealed. The first flight is Kuvanda Airways flight 003, which flies to Johannesburg, South Africa.

2016 - the Banda terrorist attacks take place. Terrorists affiliated with ISIL Central Africa stage large-scale attacks across the capital city. The attacks see four car bombs detonated (at a police station, outside two restaurants, and one outside a hotel), as well as 14 gunmen storming the Corinthium Hotel, frequented by diplomats and international businessmen. Gunmen take hostages, and engage local police officers in a shootout. After five hours, at 0300 A.M., the siege is broken. French GIGN special forces and the Kuvandan BIR (Rapid Intervention Battalion) conducted a joint operation to free the hostages, which goes successfully. 74 people perish from the bombings, as well as a further 35 at the Corinthium Hotel.

1693 May 31st, the Imperial Marshall Prince Georg von Hessen-Darmstadt breaks the french siege of Roses, four dies, after his Victory in the Battle of the Ter.

1697 May 31st, The Marshall prince Georg von Hessen-Darmstadt, is Crowned, as He Married Crown Princess Elisenda, as Princep Jordi de Hessen-Darmstadt. He ruled as Jordi I from 1697-1725.

1911 May 31st. 1st women Sufragist march. Women got right to vote 1926 Constitutituent elections for the 1st time. 1928 Constution gave universal sufrage to women over 20 yo.

1947 Constitution of the Societat Catalana Automòbils de Turisme SA. Merger of Various automobile makers after WW2 as: Buick Ibèrica, Abadal, Bonet, that were in a precarious economic situation after WW2. At the origin SCAT build FIAT vehicles under license while investing in developing and building their own for the growing middle class since the 50s. So initially the government, the various automakers, FIAT and the Banks became shareholders.

1967 may 31st the police Raids the house and Arrests Jan Buyse former Belgian SS officer and her wife, also ex-SS members, both fugitives of Belgian justice that had lived under disguise in my country since the early 50s.
Both were deported to Belgium in 1971.
