INDEPENDENT REALM OF KLATENIA
⠀► GENERAL INFORMATION:
Welcome to the Diplomatic Mission Exchange Program of the Independent Realm of Klatenia, created by order of the Grand Regent of Klatenia and is overseen by the Realm Ministry of Foreign Affairs in facilitating a continuous relationship between the Klatenian government and foreign nations. With the need for cooperation never being this crucial, it has come to attention that the establishment of solid and long-lasting bonds of friendship and cooperation between nations and Klatenia has become ever more vital, as well as providing continuous help and support towards Klatenians abroad.
The Independent Realm of Klatenia is located throughout the Indonesian archipelago, with its location strategically connecting the Pacific and Indian Oceans. It is home to over 102 million people, with most residing in the capital, Yogyanagaran. Its location is away from other nations; there has been a tendency of isolationism and autarkic among the population, considering solitude most desirable. As a result, the country has maintained a strict policy for sovereignty.
The country is a symbolic monarchy under an electoral parliamentary regency, led by the grand regent on behalf of the Perpetual Emperor, which serves as the head of government. The position is currently held by Vincentius I, Elector of Bukit Hijau, since his ascension in 2014. The people of Klatenia mostly hold a more centrist ideological position and consider both extremes treacherous and chaotic by nature. The nation has a mixed economy, upholding the belief in the necessity of a balance between private and public corporations.
Klatenia holds Indonesian as its official language, although it also possesses a wide variety of local dialects spoken throughout its territories. With the country currently populated by over 700 different cultures, Klatenia is among the countries with the most spoken languages in the world.
⠀► REGULATIONS:
Several regulations must be followed for an embassy or consulate application to be approved. The Government of Klatenia does not guarantee any exceptions. For your convenience, the Realm Ministry of Foreign Affairs has provided the list detailing the current regulations and requirements:
- Location: All embassies must be located within the capital city (Yogyanagaran). The Gondokusuman district has been a specialized district where most of the existing embassies are located. Consulates are allowed to be established in any city of Klatenia. However, the Realm Ministry of Foreign Affairs recommends the cities of Jayakarta, Surabaya, Klaten, Semarang, and Denpasar for their establishment, as they are the most populous and where most foreigners reside.
- Weapons: Only small arms are allowed in the embassies and consulates. The list of allowed weapons includes handguns (revolvers, pistols, derringers, and machine pistols), muskets/rifled muskets, shotguns, rifles, and their respective ammunition. No explosives are allowed. The Independent State of Mimi Land reserves the right to deny the country access to any other weaponry.
- Vehicles: A maximum of 10 non-military ground vehicles is allowed in embassies and consulates. No planes, helicopters, or other flying vehicles are allowed. Vehicles can be armored but not armed.
- Personnel: A maximum of 50 personnel is allowed at embassies, while a maximum of 30 is allowed at consulates. (the nation applying may adjust the number as they wish, but it must not be exceeded).
- Sovereignty: The territory where an embassy or consulate is located is still considered to be part of the Klatenian territories, but Klatenian laws do not apply to them. Instead, they are subject to the applying nation's laws. It is the responsibility of the applying nation to maintain the embassy in good condition. Klatenia will terminate all embassies or consulates that are found to be abandoned or in deplorable conditions.
