Legal drinking age 16 is the legal age of consumption on private property (e.g. your family home), but it is 18 for consumption in (e.g.) pubs and restaurants and 18 for purchasing alcohol.
Average cost of alcohol You can buy a bottle of decent Razenlandian beer for a bit under 2 US Dollars, or about 8 Razenlandian Krona.
How has alcohol been a part of your culture and has it always been popular? In living memory, Razenland has been referred to disparagingly as a "vodka republic", but there is an older and yet more prevalent tradition of producing and drinking mead. Agricultural settings were especially prominent in the production of both, and their alcoholic goods were sold into towns and cities long before commercial production companies were established.
Is alcohol used in cookery much? Alcohol could be used as an ingredient of cooking...
Where can alcohol not be legally consumed, bought or sold? People who work in safety critical jobs, in transport or in mines or factories, may not consume alcohol in the course of their duties. Schools and emergency service settings are also off-limits. This is a non-exhaustive list. Alcohol is only sold in pubs, restaurants and other licensed venues, including shops and supermarkets.
Is on-street drinking prohibited? No.
When did significant national laws on alcohol come in? Alcohol laws were scant until the 1930s, when commercial production would only be granted to people or organisations licensed by the state. Although it was illegal to consume alcohol whilst driving (e.g.) a train or a commercial road vehicle, personal motor vehicles appeared to remain exempt from this legislation until the 1960s. Legal limits as such were not prescribed until the 1970s. Breathalysers and other acts of enforcement did not appear until the late 1990s. People may still brew privately for personal (that is to say non-commercial) consumption.
Are there any ethnic groups or culture for whom alcohol plays a significant part? No. Alcohol plays its part in many family celebrations across Razenland.
Are there any specific cities or buildings where alcohol is legally prohibited or culturally unavailable? See above (schools, etc.).
Deaths attributed to alcohol each year This is not formally recorded or monitored.
If alcohol is legally prohibited in your nation, what drinks are more popular? (e.g. coconut juice, cola, soda etc.) N/A
Any other information Not at this time.

The United Provinces of Chadtonia

Legal drinking age
The Federal legal drinking age is 21. Citizens born of the Dani tribe and/or in the Dani province receive a federal waiver that permits to buy and drink alcohol at 13 years of age within the Dani Province borders.

Average cost of alcohol

2 Chadtonian dollars.

How has alcohol been a part of your culture and has it always been popular?

Alcohol has always been a mainstay in Chadtonia, with roots going back to a few of Emperors even owning their own vineyards.

Is alcohol used in cookery much?

Chadtonians do love to cook with wine and/or beer, depending on the dish. One of the more popular dishes in the Nation's capitol city is hamburger steak soaked in light draft beer.

Where can alcohol not be legally consumed, bought or sold?

Alcohol can be legally consumed, bought and sold in all of Chadtonian provinces and territories. There is no law against consuming, buying, or selling alcohol in public places.

Is on-street drinking prohibited?

No.

When did significant national laws on alcohol come in?

Age restrictions on alcohol consumption did not begin until after the election of Chadtonia's first president, and at that time the Federal age limit was 13, as was the primary tribal custom age of adulthood. It was not until after the election of President Shiela Abernathy when the Federal drinking age was raised to 21, and the Dani alchohol waiver was instituted.

Are there any ethnic groups or culture for whom alcohol plays a significant part?

Alchohol is a significant factor of Chadtonian culture as a whole, but as aforementioned the Dani Tribe has special provisions to continue the tradition of adult rites at age 13, which includes but is not limited to, alcohol consumption. A member of the Dani tribe who does not perform the "doah doah" ceremony by getting drunk and then tied to a pole and having their nipple's pierced on their 13th birthday is considered "buah" which means "bad blood" is exhiled from the Dani province.

Are there any specific cities or buildings where alcohol is legally prohibited or culturally unavailable?

It is unlawful to drink alcohol in National Museums, which ironically now includes The Imperial Palace, where many Emperors and even the first few Chadtonian presidents have consumed alcohol.

Deaths attributed to alcohol each year

There are approximately 244,550 deaths that are directly attributed to alcohol consumption in Chadtonia each year. [Note: this number reflects both tourists and citizens combined.]

If alcohol is legally prohibited in your nation, what drinks are more popular? (e.g. coconut juice, cola, soda etc.)

Coffee and fruit juices are the primary popular non-alcoholic drinks in Chadtonia. It is often said "If you see a man drinking coffee it is a good day, if you see a man drinking tea prepare for war."

Any other information

Chadtonia has several domestic beers that are manufactured in Chadtonia and sold only in Chadtonia.

Where can alcohol not be legally consumed, bought or sold?
Schools, the middle of streets, emergency service stations, military barracks, motor vehicles (when driving)

Is on-street drinking prohibited?
It is only specifically banned in streets that see motor and transportation traffic. Alleyways and sidewalks are legal premises to consume alcohol.

All cultures and ethnicites native to Frisemark have alcohol as a prominent cultural aspect, both Frisik and Tordener, as well as the Russian minority.

Legal drinking age Age to purchase light alcohol like beer and wine is 18 years of age. Age to purchase spirits is a bit higher at 20 years of age. Age at which a parent or guardian can order alcohol for a minor at a establishment is typically 16.
Average cost of alcohol The range is broad here but beer will set you back between 2-6 USDs at the store or 5-12 USDs at an establishment (a shot of liquor can be in a similar range but depends on quality/age). The same goes for wine and spirits, the better the quality the higher the cost. Due to import controls and the harsh winters of the Beric biome wine tends to be the most expensive with a small specialized local industry and imports often suffering under increased tax rate that goes to subsidizing the local wine industry.
How has alcohol been a part of your culture and has it always been popular?Absolutely. Whiskey, beer and mead has been considered staples of the masses for centuries while finer liquors and wine have always been imported no matter the cost to the more well to do. If anything alcohol has suffered in popularity as new drinks have been introduced. Before Sodas and other modern juices; alcohol, and water could be found in every home while milk came in third until refrigeration was developed. Those that do not drink are assumed to have fallen victim to their weaknesses and developed alcoholism and abstain out of necessity.
Is alcohol used in cookery much?Absolutely, though again do to cost wine is considered usable for fine dining while beer, mead are used in most homes.
Where can alcohol not be legally consumed, bought or sold? Libraries, schools (though universities and finishing, secondary schools are not included and have alcohol in large quantities)
Is on-street drinking prohibited? Not at all. You might get in trouble for public drunkenness or buffoonery but the drinking of the alcohol itself is never considered the problem.
When did significant national laws on alcohol come in? Early on in 1874 laws were put in place concerning the appropriate process distinguishing one alcohol from another. This allowed propreitors who watered down their liquor without advising as such liable for criminal and civil charges.
Are there any ethnic groups or culture for whom alcohol plays a significant part?Wine is borderline sacrosanct with our Catholics. With its high cost and importance to the Eucharist some parts of the population only partake during religious ceremonies.
Are there any specific cities or buildings where alcohol is legally prohibited or culturally unavailable?Like the above, school grounds, libraries and technically hospitals (though the third often has its rule ignored).

Any other information: Strain can cause the drinker to go into a violent berserker rage. Agony has healing properties, though there is the random risk that the drinker instead is torn apart inside. Sorrow isn't directly lethal, but it contains the concentrated grief and misery of the damned and while it can grant soaring confidence and ego, it can instead it can cause the drinker to cry and if they were to do so in public (revealing that they have empathy) they would be mocked before being ganged up on and tortured to death by everyone around them.

How has alcohol been a part of your culture and has it always been popular? Alcohol has maintained its popularity as early members of the Hanta Tribe believed it to be capable of keeping them warm in the frigid temperatures of Evyskaya and early Reshenga. As Evyskaya and Reshenga (then called East Evyskaya) were colonized by Dartia, alcohol was becoming more regulated and more taxed. During the Revolution, many of the revolutionaries would openly consume alcohol or taunt Dartian soldiers with bottles. Captured Dartian soldiers were typically drenched in alcohol and, in some of the lesser-organized units, Dartians were even waterboarded in beer. Additionally, alcoholic beverages were used extensively during early wars such as the Revolution and the First Civil War to burn down enemy fortifications and deny access to certain areas. It is not quite as popular as it was during the early years of Camp Hebron, but alcohol is still consumed on many days of the year in correspondence with certain holidays.
Is alcohol used in cookery much? Yes, many recipes use some form of diluted alcohol (typically beer)

Legal drinking age technically, not one if it's parents providing alcohol to children. Otherwise, 16.
Average cost of alcohol a 12 pack of the standard beer is around 15-20 Empirian Kroner on average. Premium beers and wines can run well above this figure, though.
How has alcohol been a part of your culture and has it always been popular? People are usually very careful how much they drink, primarily as a health-focused society. But it's not out of the ordinary to see someone drinking an alcoholic beverage or two at your local block party, or at local events which permit drinking.
Is alcohol used in cookery much? Occasionally, it depends on what food is being made. Beer bread isn't unusual, but nobody makes like... beer soup
Where can alcohol not be legally consumed, bought or sold? Alcohol may be sold at licensed establishments, primarily grocery stores and small gas stations. Consumption is generally permitted in most places, so long as you don't become "rowdy"/unruly. A few places drinking isn't allowed, though: schools & school related events, the public pool, places of employment (while on the job), and casinos.
Is on-street drinking prohibited? As stated above, consumption is permitted in most places so long as the individuals aren't rowdy or unruly, with some exceptions outlined above. Street consumption is generally fine and is a relatively common sight.
When did significant national laws on alcohol come in? The most notable recent change was certain permissions on street drinking (~2010) and lowering the drinking age from 18 to 16 (~1995).
Are there any ethnic groups or culture for whom alcohol plays a significant part? Empirian Danes (ethnically Danish) are probably the nation's biggest alcohol consumers on net.
Are there any specific cities or buildings where alcohol is legally prohibited or culturally unavailable? A few specific types of buildings, actually: Schools, Public Pools, Casinos, and Government Buildings all don't allow alcohol at all.
Deaths attributed to alcohol each year 3,000-5,000
